Absolutely Anything on Netflix
Happy to report that Absolutely Anything, the film I wrote with Terry Jones, is now on Netflix in the USA, starring Simon Pegg, Kate Beckinsale, Eddie Izzard, Rob Riggle, Sanjeev Bhaskar and Joanna Lumley and featuring the Pythons as the Galactic Council of Supreme Beings. And Robin Williams as The Dog. Oh, and I’m reading the news. 90 minutes of pure silliness guaranteed.

Historical Novels Review goes for Age of Olympus
Susan McDuffie has written a wonderful review of The Age of Olympus in the prestigious Historical Novels Review. Here’s an extract: “This thrilling mystery moves at a breakneck pace. Replete with shape-shifting villains, femme fatales, mysterious relics, and an enchanted island, this hero’s journey makes an entertaining read.” Thank you, Susan!

An evening with the LA Times, the Lincoln Lawyer’s father and Brighton’s finest.
Great evening last night moderating a fascinating BAFTA LA discussion on crime writing for page and screen with ace LA Times crime reporter and short story writer James Queally, 18 million selling UK crime novelist Peter James (who writes the Brighton-based Roy Grace novels), and 80 million selling US crime writer Michael Connelly, creator of Harry Bosch and the Lincoln Lawyer. Needless to say they all got copies of #AgeOfOlympusTitan Books and Mr James began reading it right away!

Tea with Agatha Christie? You’re kidding!
To say I’m flattered to be compared on Amazon.com to Agatha Christie by the former chairman of EMI, the company which produced Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile is MAJOR understatement. But sometimes you just have to roll with the punches … This is what Barry Spikings wrote: “EMI Films, of which I became Chairman and CEO, made a number of films based on Agatha Christie novels, starting with Murder on the Orient Express. She set a standard for the murder mystery genre. I am sure...

East Park Memories
I was enormously lucky to grow up in a house on Summergangs Road in East Hull, because it backed on to one of the most magical places in the city: East Park. You could get to it from our tiny back garden just by wriggling under the wooden fence, and once there the imaginative child was in a cornucopia of delight. Even today, in far away Southern California, whenever I think of the great floral clock in the middle of the park, and remember the scent of the Sweet William...
