The Lord Restores What the Locusts Have Eaten: Why I Didn’t Invite My Dad to My High School Graduation

It's not the way I would have planned it, but my dad is changing lives every day. His life was NOT wasted, despite his past. Despite his ending.

A Prayer for John Crist

Continue to bring the darkness to light in his life. No more secrets. Where your light shines, darkness cannot exist. May he allow You to expose every dark area of his heart so he can truly be set free. Not half free. But truly free.

Overcoming Lies in the Midst of Heartbreak: You are Worth Fighting For

Sometimes there are things we go through that the world may never know about. Then there are those things we go through that once we heal, God says, “share with someone else who needs some comfort.” This is one of those times. I remember closing the door after our second date and looking at my […]

Did Jesus Make Poop Jokes?

Strange question to ask, I know. But... if you know me at all, well... it's not really that strange. Sometimes we get the wrong idea of God. We think He's just this mean man upstairs waiting to strike us down. But that's not who He is at all, and He sent Jesus to prove He longs for relationship. Jesus laughed. He loved well. And I bet He made poop jokes.

What are you afraid of? : Making Fear a Stepping Stone Instead of a Stumbling Block

Why I Took My 7-Year Old Cousin to the Bar

My aunt was managing a sidewalk sale and asked if I would go pick up some food for a few of my family members. They ordered some burgers from the local bar uptown. My little cousin had spent most of the morning tagging along since she wanted to meet the new kitty, so after I […]

Reaching for the Hand of Jesus: Living with Child-Like Faith

My little buddy Jackson and I have a special bond. He just turned 3 and we both often act the same age. He’s a blessing to the world and I am so honored to be in his life. The other day we decided to go for a walk while his parents finished eating. He’s 3, […]
