Firearm Friday

~ An original of a so called “Tshincke” the first hunting dedicated type of firearm in the world. It was made in the German speaking countries since the 15th century, this particular one from the collections of the Higgins Museum dates from the 1650-1675. This type of rifle was usually a matchlock or like in this case a wheelock type action. They were heavy and richly engraved usually with mother of pearl and ivory. True pieces of art, history and hunting culture. ~

Cover Reveal – SILENT MERCY!

On Dec 4th Simon and Schuster is putting out a FREE digital short story, featuring Mercy Gunderson, titled SILENT MERCY. Here’s the cover and a little snippet as to what the story is about.

Recently returned from training at Quantico, FBI agent Mercy Gunderson stirs up trouble and uses her rarely seen feminine side to seduce her unsuspecting boyfriend, sexy-as-sin Sheriff Mason Dawson. When she revs up her Viper to get his attention while he’s on patrol, tempers and sparks fly—but their rendezvous is interrupted by a disturbing cry for help. The pair rush to the scene, where Mercy discovers that even though she can’t always save the day, she doesn’t have to be silent about it…

Here in South Dakota we celebrate today as Native American Day, not Columbus Day – in celebration I’m sharing a picture of the annual powwow held in July in Pine Ridge.
