It’s been a while since my last post. I am sorry, but I have a sinus infection and I will be down for a few days more. This has put me behind schedule, but Soul Custody 2 will be released. I hope you will remember to check back often as I will keep you up to date with my writing activities and Soul Custody 2.
Until it is released, make sure to read Soul Custody. It’ll have you reading until the last page!
Until then, happy reading and writing!

Amazon and Reviews
Good morning all, happy Monday!
I woke up this morning, and as usual, I checked my email, Facebook, Amazon reports, and my book status on Amazon. While doing so, I realized Soul Custody had another review. It was a great one. The purpose of this blog is to get some input on what you think about Amazon reviews and ranking.
Some say that the more positive reviews your product gets, the higher your ranking is. Others say, the more “likes” you get on your author page, the higher your rank will be. I think they say the magic number is fifty. I did notice that with this review and a few more likes to my author page, which is past fifty, my rank is higher.
I, like most, love receiving great reviews, but I try not to give them too much weight because reviews are subjective. Everyone is not going to like your book and that is part of the business. I’ve even heard some say that you’re not a true author until you’ve received a bad review.
As a newbie to the business, this can be confusing. What is your take on reviews and ranking from Amazon or any other distributor?
Post your comments and let me know.
SN; still working on Soul Custody 2. If you have any suggestions for the title, comment in my previous blog, http://librarajani.com/2012/08/25/soul-custody-2-needs-a-title/. The contest is still going on. The winner will receive an amazon gift card, good luck.

What’s Your Idea of Romance?
I was up bright and early this morning. It’s Sunday and that means laundry, some light cleaning, and a big dinner (meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn on the cob). But before that, I’m going to get some writing done on Soul Custody 2.
While writing, it put thoughts of romance on my mind and it made me realize that there are so many definitions of the word for so many people. Romance in my opinion, is simple. It’s about how another person, whether it be a man or a woman, makes you feel.
It’s easy to spend money on a fancy restaurant or giving someone a credit card to use at their leisure. Mind you, I’m not knocking those gestures. They have their place and are wonderful things to do for someone. However, I believe romance should come naturally. It’s about the simple touch or word and that makes things worth while. Those gestures go a long way and resonate in the mind of the receiver.
When writing romance, I try to write my Alpha heroes with that in mind, and of course the antagonist, and again, this could be a man or woman, doesn’t possess this quality.
A good analogy would be when a man asks you, “What do I have to do to get you in the mood?” The answer is simple. “Start making love to me the minute you wake up and keep it going throughout the day.” I guarantee you, no matter how hard your day is, those gestures will be fixated in your mind.
Most women are dreamers and fantasize about that ideal man. That’s why we love to read romance, but at the same time, we want it to be realistic. We live in the real world and we know that no man is perfect. The previous analogy is what we fantasize about in a man.
In any case, that was on my mind. What are your thoughts on romance? Do you agree or disagree with my theory?
Side note; So far I have about ten suggestions for the title of my book. If you’re interested, please leave them here on my blog and have your chance to win an Amazon gift card!
Until next time,

Soul Custody 2 Needs a Title
Hello friends!
It’s been a few days since my last post. As I’ve said in a previous blog, I’m working on the sequel to Soul Custody. I’m about midway through the novel and I’m having a good time with my old friend from Soul Custody.
The sequel revolves around Tanya Campbell, Gabriella’s best friend. Nothing was said about Tanya’s background or her personal life in the first book. She has a new job in Florida as a finance manager at a bank. Because of this, the novel is set in Florida and Chicago. When in Chicago, Gabriella and Matthew will make a brief appearance.
Tanya has some issues that she needs to work through that stem from her relationship with her father. If you read Soul Custody, you know that Tanya is not a woman you want to mess with. I love her and she needs a storyline of her own. She is feisty, determined, aggressive, and most of all, loyal to the ones she loves. Just don’t betray her trust.
Tanya is composed of many layers and it’s going to take a strong and patient man to penetrate her heart.
Since Soul Custody is a sequel, I need the perfect title. I have a few ideas, but I welcome any suggestions. I would love for you to post them in the comment section. After a while, I will list the suggestions and take a poll. The winner will receive a five dollar Amazon gift card!
Remember, it has to relate to the book. This book will be sensuous, gritty, and like it’s predecessor, make you want to reach in and kill someone! Some will love her, others will hate her. But in the end, all will respect her.
I will keep you up to date with the suggestions I receive and look forward to hearing from you.

My Characters Made Me Do It!
Greetings all!
I am in the middle of Soul Custody 2 and I have a dilemma. I knew exactly what I wanted her characters to do and say to each other. I was the one who was inside their heads controlling them like puppets on a string.
How wrong I was. As I’m writing, they speak to me and I’m sure my fellow writers know exactly what I’m talking about. They are now guiding me. I write one thing, they tell me to do another. They have definitely taken on lives and personalities of their own.
They gave me subtle hints in the first book, but I’m afraid I no longer have control! Lol, I want Devon to be a certain kind of man. He won’t obey. He’s angry, bitter, smooth and conniving. Hmm, I like that.
Well, I just thought I’d give you a little bit of what I’m going through, me and my characters.
If you’ve had this problem, leave me a comment. How did you handle it?
Until next time,
Smooches!
p.s. If you haven’t read Soul Custody, pick it up soon. Soul Custody 2 will be released before you know it!

MY FIRST BLOG POST
Hello everyone,
as stated in my title, this is my very first blog post. I’ve been meaning to get around to starting a blog about my writing experiences, but I’ve been so busy doing other things concerning the book such as writing it. In my opinion, that was the easy part. I then had to market it. I’m on facebook, twitter, and have a presence on youtube.
The entire experience has been fulfilling and rewarding. I have met many readers and authors of both fiction and nonfiction. They have all been kind and helpful. I finally think I’m getting the hang of it.
With that said, my first published novel, Soul Custody is doing very well. As with many novels, there are good and bad days and I am grateful for them all.
I am currently working on the sequel to Soul Custody and from this point on, I will post about the writing experience and the people I meet along the way. I will post sneak peeks, have giveaways, and run contests.
I hope you will join me in this wonderful world of writing and leave a comment about what you think about my books or anything else that’s on your mind.
As always,
Libra
