Susan B. Anthony and the other early feminists were pro-life

Feminists today hail the pioneers of women’s rights, the suffragettes and 19th century activists who crusaded for women’s right to vote and equality before the law.  But they also crusaded against abortion. Yes, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Mary Wollstonecraft, Elizabeth Blackwell, and Sarah F. Norton would not have been allowed to participate in [Read More...]

Donald Trump in Bible prophecy?

Many End Times preachers are saying that the rise of Donald Trump was prophesied in the Bible as a herald that the last days are upon us.  He’s not the anti-christ.  We know that because the Bible says of the anti-Christ: “Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor [Read More...]

Live-blogging the Inauguration

Being unable to resist significant moments in history, I’ll be watching the Inauguration ceremonies today and making comments here. Things get started at 9:30 a.m. ET, with the actual inauguration ceremony starting at about 11:30 a.m. ET.  The swearing in will be at noon, whereupon Donald Trump will give his inaugural address.  I’ll be devoting [Read More...]

Moving day at the White House

The White House staff has five hours to move out the former president and his family, with all of their furniture and belongings and preferred decor, and to move in the new residents. The logistics of this tightly choreographed operation are rather amazing.  Professional movers can haul the furniture to the door, but they can’t go [Read More...]

Pro-life women excluded from “Women’s March”

The day after Donald Trump’s Inauguration, thousands of women will march on Washington to demonstrate for women’s issues.  But pro-life women–even pro-life feminists, even pro-life feminist liberals–will not be allowed to join the demonstration. From Views on Abortion Strain Calls for Unity at Women’s March on Washington – The New York Times: As a self-described [Read More...]

Discovering a different way of doing youth ministry

Most youth ministries are shallow at best, and youth worship is even worse.  An evangelical worship leader lamenting those conclusions happened upon some YouTube videos from the Lutheran youth ministry Higher Things. Read the whole post, linked after the jump, which includes videos of both the worship services he is decrying and the worship services from [Read More...]

Planned Parenthood won’t report child sex-trafficking?

In 2011, a Live Action crew posing as sex traffickers, visited a number of Planned Parenthood clinics and asked if they could arrange abortions for 14 and 15-year-old “sex workers.”  Planned Parenthood workers were caught on video saying yes, that they didn’t obey parental notification laws, and going on to give further advice. Planned Parenthood [Read More...]

Who is funding the U.S. secessionist movements

California and Texas both have secessionist movements with the goal of breaking away from the United States and setting up independent nations.  California’s rebels would seem to be from the left.  The Texans would seem to be from the right.  But the unlikely breakaways of these formerly independent republics have a common funder:  RUSSIA. The [Read More...]

Nationalism joins Islam as reasons for Christian persecution

Open Door, an organization that monitors Christian persecution, has released its annual report for 2016, which it calls “the worst year yet” for violence against Christians. The biggest part of the persecution is still committed in the name of Islam.  No longer just a matter of the Middle East, Islamic persecution has risen dramatically in Africa. [Read More...]

Fear of the working class

The editor of a liberal website has written about a plumber he had called to fix his drain.  The plumber acted professionally and did the job.  But he spoke with a Southern accent!  He didn’t seem upset about the election!  He might even have voted for Trump!  The editor described his fear at having a possible Trump [Read More...]
