Paranormal Fantasy Addict

Hi, my name is BR and I’m a paranormal fantasy addict.

It started when a friend, or at least I thought she was a friend, loaned me a couple of JD Robb’s In Death books. Then another supposed friend loaned me Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I discovered Kim Harrison’s Hollows series and Richelle Meade’s succubus books.

Before I knew it, I was on a death spiral into alternate realities. Yasmine Galenorn’s Sisters of the Moon, Faith Hunter’s Rogue Mage, Patricia Briggs’ Mercy Thompson, I didn’t...

New Reviews and Places to Buy "The Succubus Gift"

Several new reviews have been posted for The Succubus Gift. Succubus.net, home of Tera, Queen of the Succubi has given the book her best rating, 5 pitchforks. Check her blog for May 12. http://www.succubus.net/blog/.

“Well written, a story that kept me turning the pages and wanting to know more. Characters that were real with their faults, mistakes, and feet of clay. Powerful yes, but having power and using it does not mean that you have all the answers… In this story, finding the answers dr...

Reviews for "The Succubus Gift"

The first reviews are in, and they’ve been kind.

When I published The Succubus Gift, I felt it was as good as I could make it. I spent two months writing it, then three months worrying, editing, revising, torturing my editors with revisions, and worrying some more. At some point you have to throw it out the window and see if it flies or drops like a rock.

A World Without Demons

Paranormal Urban Fantasy

I recently had someone tell me they didn’t think they’d be interested in The Succubus Gift because they were tired of books about demons. So am I, along with a number of other things. There aren’t any demons, vampires, shape shifters or other paranormal creatures in my books. Such topics have been worked almost to death.

The large publishing houses classify books into genres so they know which editor to send them to. It’s a mailroom thing. A book that crosses genres,...

First book is published!

Finally! After five months of sweating over The Succubus Gift, it’s out the door and posted on the internet for all to see. I feel like I just sent a kid off to college.
succubus gift on smashwords 2 It only took two months to write the first book in the series, but it’s taken three months of editing and revisions to make it readable. I sent it off to a couple of friends, and though they were very nice about it, I noticed it took them quite a while to read it.

And no wonder! When I finally started getting some fee...

The Succubus as the Good Guy

or why does a woman have to be bad to feel good?

I’ve always had an active, some might say over-active, imagination. I learned to read at three, and since my younger brother is six years younger than I, in a way I was similar to an only child. I’ve always been shy and I have spent a lot of my life alone with a book.

I first tried to write a novel when I was 15, a science fiction book set in an alternate reality. I wrote about a dozen pages with a pencil. I kept it for years, occasionally comi...
