Teaser Tuesday- Half in Love

My next book, Half in Love, will be released May 10th, or there abouts. It is being published by Siren BookStrand.

Half in Love is quite a different story from my first published work. It is the story about a shifter female, Willie Krenshaw, that goes through a partial vampiric change. She straddles the two worlds and tries to keep her head down and out of trouble. One fateful night she stumbles over a drugged vampire that she can't seem to get rid of. Should she kill him or kiss him? That question plagues her through many pages.

First Release Day, Top 30 lists, and Yea Moments

Yesterday was by far one of the most awesome days I've had. Yes, I would say it ranks up there with the first trip to Europe and walking into my first classroom as a teacher. It was a BIG day, and it was perfect. I stalked every kind of website I could, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc. But, honestly it was the reactions and support of the other Siren authors that made the day. Yes, I did far better than I thought I would in sales. Yes, climbing the Top 30 MF list all day was exciting. BUT, to have some of my favorite authors offering up their congrats was amazing.

So, what does today bring? Normal life, I think. Back to work, and writing, but I'm sure I'll keep an eye on things.

Thank you so much to everyone for yesterday. It was an absolute dream come true. I hope everyone enjoys Maggie's story as much as I enjoyed writing it, and that everyone is hoping for more releases (May 10th is the next, if you're wondering!)

I had the pleasure of interviewing her for her debut novel. Below are the answer to some burning questions we all want to know.
1. Tell us about your latest book.My book is a menage that has some MM play, but it primarily has MFM fun.  It starts with Treasure's escape from an abusive and blackmailing situation.  She's never felt at home at a place.  To her, home was represented by being around family and people she loved because her father was an Army officer.  She wrecks her car, and this guy, James, saves her.  He takes her home to where he and his best friend/lover live.  They get her to stay and give her roots, which is something she had never had before.2. Are you a planner or a pantser?I'm writing buddies with Marla Monroe, who is amazing.  I told her that I try to be a planner, but I just never seem to stick to it so far.  She said I was a planster.  I had to laugh and say that I was a planner wannabe, but in reality, I'm a pantser.3. Do you have anything in common with your characters?Originally, the resemblance was superficial in that I am a military brat as well.  I found as I went through my book to edit it that I bled into my character more than I intended.  She has the same easy going and friendly demeanor I have.  Both of my heroes actually resemble my husband in some way too.  My husband is the type of guy who will help anyone, whether he knows them or not like James.  He is also a bit of a joker and light hearted like Chad.4. What items are necessary to get you into your writing mojo?I have to have a little bit of noise.  I will either have a movie or music playing.  I think my favorite writing movies are Waitress and a German movie called The Princess and the Warrior.  As far as music, I listen to almost everything from P!nk to Wild Cherry.  As long as it has a good beat, I'm happy.  Caffeine is also essential.  Chocolate is nice too.  Chocolate is always good.  If I'm lucky enough to have a wonderful flow of scenes and am in my characters' heads, then I can write no matter what.  It helps that my house is never truly quiet with my younger brothers and sisters dropping in, nephew, about to be nephews, and my son around.5. Who are some of your favorite authors?I don't know if I have a favorite author, per se.  I read whatever happens to float my boat.  One day, I may be reading a paranormal story, and the next, it could be historical.  I've looked through some of the books on my kindle, and I've got Marla Monroe's,Eve Langlais's, Cooper McKenzie's, Becca Van's, R.G. Alexander's, Erin M. Leaf's and several others' books when it comes to the romance/erotica.6. What do you do when you're not writing?I have a full time job, which I love even though it is exhausting.  I work in a high school, helping to mold young minds while making them think either harder or smarter than they've previously been used to doing.  I have an 11 year old son, and I've been married going on 12 years.  We often goof off together, we work at home together, and my husband and I do our best to shape our son into someone he can be proud to be.  When I'm not writing, I'm helping somebody.  Writing is what I do for myself, and I love it.7. First kiss and a snippet

I'm a romantic at heart. I love the idea of first kisses between a couple. Even if it's are just a brush of lips, its the first time a couple gets up close and personal. Lips are the portal to a soul. Emotions, thoughts, reactions all can be read in the set of someone's mouth. We voice our hopes and dreams, fears and concerns all through our lips. Here is the first kiss between Maggie and Raharan. This was a fun one to write because he is alien, Maggie is human. He'd never been kissed before, so it gives her something to introduce him to.

Q. Can you read Spanish Heat as a stand-alone?
A. Absolutely! The common element is that the hero ofSpanish Heat is the cousin of the hero of Summer Heat. Spanish Heat can be readwithout first reading Summer Heat.
Q. Have you already started writing the next Heat?
A. Yes. For Heat 3, I’ve reunited the characters of thefirst and second books bringing them back to Sycamore Hill Farm for a familywedding. And as we all know, a lot of things can happen when family is around,good and bad.

Release date approaching, edits off and other such stuff

My week has been a full one. I received final edits for Maggie's Abduction, watched it go live on the Siren Bookstrand website, and have been having fun with that whole process.

Along with that, if that wasn't enough for a great week, I got edits for Half in Love. I loved going through those pages. The characters are quirky and just so much fun. Well, and the love story is smokin! What can I say, vamps are hot. Anyway, the edits are now done and sent back to Siren.


Other news that seems important to share. Half in Love seems to have a closer release date of 5/15 instead of the 29th! Whoot! That means cover art should be coming soon.

Hunky alien dudes and their books

Yes, I will admit it. I love sci-fi stories of beefy alien males. Maybe its all the sci-fi I read when I was a kid. Whatever it is I love me some hot alien dudes. So, in celebration of my own upcoming hunky alien book, I've put together my favorites to share.

 Eve Langlais has some VERY nice alien males in her stories. Accidental Abduction is the first in a series of three books containing the yummiest purple alien men.  She also has a series called Alien Mates which is very good as well.

Next would be the Brides of the Kindred series by Evangeline Anderson. Now, those males are growl worthy!

The next series is actually shifter AND alien, combined. What better combination is there? None. That's my answer. Jordan Summers has the Phantom Warriors series and its definitely a good read.

Maggie's Abduction isn't part of a series, or at least I don't think it will be a series. Raharan is definitely a sexy, dominant, growling male alien.
