Garden Apartment

It is kind of hard to review this place. It is part of an old house, with where-possible original furniture. We were there in autumnand it was cold in the evenings. However it had central heating and an electric heater if needed. The place was very clean and had everything that was needed. Our hosts were very friendly, warm and inviting. They even did a load of our smelly cycling washing for us.

It rained everyday we were there, but we still managed to sit wrapped up on their balcony. They also have an excellent shower and a very comfortable bed.

Location-wise it is situated on a creek and is very peaceful. It is also only a short walk to the town centre.

If you want a five star hotel then this is not your place. If you want an authentic and clean guest-house then this will be perfect.

Restauracja "U Śliwy"

This was a traditional roadside restaurant. We stopped because it was all we could find and were presently surprised with the good service and delicious food and coffee.

It is also bicycle friendly.

5/5 for the coffee
3/5 for everything else.

Uno Pizzeria

Incredibly good pizza paired with incredibly bad service. The restaurant itself is nice and we managed to sit outside over looking a stream. Our pizza was thick crusted and cooked in a stone oven. There was nowhere to lock our bicycles and the service was simply rude.

Sport 40

Picture (New Zealand Literary Journal)
[kindle ebook]

Well I did not enjoy this edition as much as Sport 39. Some of the international authors were a little difficult for me. Notable performances came from Tina Makereti, Hera Lindsay Bird, Dietmar Dath, Lawrence Patchett, Susanna Gendall and Virginia Were.

I will continue to buy Sport. I love its short stories and poetry.  The poetry is often delightfully on the edge of my understanding.

Very warm and clean rooms, well-equipped kitchen and friendly hosts. We were on the upper floor with a balcony and views over roofs onto the mountains. There was no problem leaving our bicycles locked up in their basement.

I did have some unhelpful trouble booking the place.

I have little experience in penzións, but for what it was I will give it a 4/5.

I am not into traditional restaurants at all. This one was very pretty and clean, with very good steak and bacon and excellent coffee. We were there on a very sunny autumn afternoon and sat outside on the balcony. It was idyllic and I would not hesitate to return. Price wise it was perhaps a little on the high side.

Midnight in Paris

Picture Comedy, Romance
Directed By: Woody Allen
Written By: Woody Allen

Hmm well written film with some lovely scenes. This film should not be watched by people who are not artsy. The film was sweet, lovely, with absolutely not substance. It was shallow.

It was a lovely film, but not worth watching.

Excellent and gripping true story about a death-row prisoner and his fight for freedom. Even though I knew how the book was going to finish, I kept turning those pages. Grisham is wonderful writer.
