Daily Teaser

Again she didn’t look at me before walking out of my office. I picked up my phone, poised to call her back in, to make her look at me with those gray eyes, but I put the phone back down. She was my employee and I was her employer and nothing more.
I went back to work and tried to forget about the nagging little voice in my head that was calling me an asshole.

************Teaser #2 Worthy of Redemption***************

When I saw him walk in, I immediately began to feel my usual inadequacies, but then I took a good look at him and forgot about myself for a while. Kyle’s hair was disheveled, like he had just woken up, and he had a beard that was at least a few days old. His shirt was hanging loosely on his slightly thinner frame, not tucked in and definitely not ironed.
When I didn’t see him after Emmy left, I assumed it was because they had either gone off together, or they had a mutual break up, but looking at his pale face and sleepless eyes and thinking about how badly Emmy sounded that day, I was positive that something terrible indeed did happen. Kyle always exuded confidence, extreme amounts of confidence in fact, and I never got the impression that there was anyone or anything that could make him come undone. That is, until I saw him walk into the bar that night.

As promised, here is a preview from the second AOP book and then one from Tabitha's book:
“Your mind wasn’t compromised by drugs and alcohol this time,” I whispered to him. “What you did was carefully calculated. I don’t condone what you did to Emmy, not by a longshot, but I know you didn’t mean it. This time you were very aware of what you were doing. It scares me that you can willfully and knowingly become violent like that.”
Kyle got very close to me, almost nose to nose. “If someone had come after me and kicked my ass up and down the eastern seaboard after what I did to Emmy, I would have not only deserved it, I would have welcomed it,” he whispered harshly. “In fact, I’m still waiting for it. If it takes ten years for someone to knock the shit out of me for what I did, I’ll deserve it no less. I wish someone had. It actually pisses me off that no one has. It makes me think they don’t love her enough to do it."
I was stunned. I looked everywhere else but at his face, because I didn’t know what to say.
I noticed that the woman at the yogurt wall was paying way more attention to us than the yogurt, not even having the shame to look away when I caught her staring.
“What the hell is your problem?” I snapped at her. That made her pay attention to her fermented milk.
“Come on,” Kyle sighed, ushering me along with one hand on my back to keep me from willfully and knowingly kicking the yogurt lady’s ass.

“You don’t have to go in there,” I whispered and was surprised to find myself fighting off the strong desire to cry. “It’s just me. I’m not worth whatever trouble you’re about to get into.”
Our eyes locked. It was a movie moment, to be sure. If I didn’t hate him only hours before and if my best friend was not his girlfriend, I would have leaned forward and kissed him. The hunger to press my lips to his both thrilled me and frightened me. At my tender age, I had never felt that before, and what luck to feel it with Leo of all people.
I immediately felt guilty and quite ridiculous for my scandalous thoughts. Not only would I definitely break girl code by even considering kissing Leo, but he was Leo, the very guy that frequently went out of his way to make my life miserable.
“I don’t know why you would believe that you’re not worth it,” he said softly as he firmly pushed me back into the truck. “But you are. Just let me be your hero for the night. You can thank me later.”

Originally I was on my way here to brag about something awesome my husband did, but then I saw the news. You've probably already seen it - someone shot at innocent little children at an elementary school today. I am absolutely devastated for those parents and for the teachers and other children that witnessed this. As if it wasn't bad enough, the jerk off is dead and won't pay for his crimes and have to witness the grief and pain he just caused a lot of people.
I'm going to put everything aside for the rest of the day and spend some time with my kids and pray that they'll never have to experience anything like this.

Updates...or lackthereof
Hi, everyone. Hope you're all having a good week.
Okay, so I have said that I wanted to have Kyle's story done by the end of this month, but honestly, I'm not sure that's feasible. One thing I do not want to do is rush through it and it not be as good as it can be. It's going well, don't misunderstand, but I don't want to rush through it just for the sake of getting it on sale. All I can say is: soon.
Guys, my website sucks. All it's missing is crayon from my five year old. That's something else I have to work on. I need someone to do it for me because I really don't have time or patience for it to be honest. I've seen some of your sites though and they're gorgeous.
Also, I've come up with a soundtrack for AOP. What to do with it? I don't know! Suggestions?
That's all for now. Have to get the little one off to school so I can spend some sexy time with Kyle ;)
