Amazon Slab City Blues Giveaway Second Chance Prize Draw – REDUX
OK, let’s try this again. Yesterday I started a giveaway for 10 copies of the large format paperback edition of Slab City Blues: The Collected Stories and 10 copies of the ebook. The paperback giveaway was open to anyone who forwarded me their email confirming entry to the recent abortive Amazon giveaway, which ended with no winners (see explanation here). As it’s become clear that many people don’t keep their emails the fairest thing is to open up the paperback giveaway to all comers. Therefore, anyone who wants a chance of winning please send an email to me at anthonyryan27@hotmail.co.uk marked ‘Slab City Blues giveaway’, specifying if you wish to be entered into the paperback or the ebook contest, or both. This second chance contest will run until 30th of April and the winners will be chosen at random. I’ve amended the original giveaway post to avoid any confusion over the rules. Don’t worry if you already emailed your entry to the ebook contest as all entries have been recorded, but do let me know if you also want a chance of winning the paperback and I’ll enter you in both draws.

Amazon Slab City Blues Giveaway Screw-up and Second Chance Prize Draw
As those of you who entered the Amazon giveaway for a large format paperback edition of Slab City Blues: The Collected Stories may have noticed, the giveaway ended with no winners. Obviously this was not the intended outcome, for which I apologise to anyone who took the time and trouble to follow me on Amazon in order to enter this contest. The lack of winners resulted from the fact that Amazon requires the giveaway organiser to specify odds of winning depending on the number of expected entries. Amazon calculated this at a surprisingly high 60,000 people, which required me to enter odds of 1 to 6000. I assumed, wrongly as it turned out, that in the event the 60,000 total wasn’t reached Amazon would simply choose 10 winners at random from the 443 people who did enter. In the circumstances I feel it’s only fair to give those 443 people a second chance at winning. Therefore if you did enter the contest and you would still like a chance to win the book please send the confirmation email you received from Amazon when you submitted your entry, or any other proof that you entered the contest, to me at anthonyryan27@hotmail.co.uk. This second chance contest will run until 30th of April and the 10 winners will be chosen at random. Once again I apologise wholeheartedly for this mistake.

Author’s Note – The following story takes place in the same world as my novel Blood Song, the first volume in the Raven’s Shadow trilogy. I wrote it because I wanted to more fully explore characters who appear in Blood Song and the sequels Tower Lord and Queen of Fire.
