“I Absolutely Loved This Book.”

ExplosionMDcover2An Explosion of Being: An American Family’s Journey into the Psychic

Paranormal nonfiction.

A review by Lenny from Maryland.

I absolutely loved this book. It was extremely well written and the author certainly put a lot of time in to it. I would certainly read more of his books, as I really did enjoy this one. My sister is currently reading it now, and so far she is enjoying it as well.

“Honest and Heartfelt Journey:” Paranormal Nonfiction.

ExplosionMDcover2An Explosion of Being: An American Family’s Journey into the Psychic

A review on Goodreads by Tessa from New York.

I have a very eclectic taste in reading on the paranormal. When I first received this book I truly thought OH NO, not a book on aliens due to the cover. I leave aliens out of my paranormal experience. I was so pleasantly surprised with not only the exceptional writing of this book, but the honest and heartfelt journey this family allows you to take with them. I read, decipher and I analyze for personal growth. The difference with this book over so many is you feel the true connection to what the writers are saying. You question more than you ever have before and that is a true compliment. At one point I had to put the book down because I became emotionally involved with part of the journey. No greater gift can be given to us from a writer, nor a book.

“A Grand Journey:” Paranormal Nonfiction

ExplosionMDcover2An Explosion of Being: An American Family’s Journey into the Psychic

A review by Ben from Pennsylvania on Goodreads and Amazon

Doug and Barbara do a great job at leading the reader through their spiritual progression. I really feel like their bared their souls in these pages. Many times they would open up about very difficult times in their lives, in order to show the challenges faced spiritual lessons learned. While reading this book, I felt connected to the authors, I felt like their life events could be experienced in any family.

Although the sections on automatic writing didn’t specifically speak to me, there were a few areas of great interest to me. I was very interested in the sections pertaining to nighttime/sleep-state activities. Specifically pertaining to teaching or offering comfort to others while in this other realm. The other part that I really enjoyed was pertaining to reincarnation. This is the first book I’ve read that pertained to non-linear reincarnation, a concept I myself have long considered feasible. I was also interested in reading about souls that tend to encounter each other, life after life, and why this can happen.

I’m glad I had a chance to read this book, and appreciate the authors sharing their experiences and life lessons.

“A Great Teaching Tool:” Paranormal Nonfiction

ExplosionMDcover2An Explosion of Being: An American Family’s Journey into the Psychic

A review by Mitzi from Tennessee on her blog and on Goodreads

This book is very spiritual, about a family that goes in-depth about their own experiences with finding out how to delve into the “other world” they take you into their own personal experiences with automatic writing, etc. I also found this book would be a great teaching tool for someone that is interested into finding their spiritual side.

“Life Changing:” Paranormal nonfiction.

ExplosionMDcover2An Explosion of Being: An American Family’s Journey into the Psychic

Review on Amazon by Selene from Florida.

Not many books can be considered life-changing. This is one of them. Reading this book caused me to rethink my views on almost everything I was brought up to believe. And I was actually brought up as an atheist by two scientist parents. After reading this account by Douglas & Barbara Dillon, I was inspired to make a trip to Cassadaga, the little town in Central Florida settled in 1894 and continuously occupied by mediums ever since. That started me on my own spiritual quest from which I have benefited in ways too numerous to count. I invite anyone interested in “The Other Side” to do their own seeking by way of this inspiring and enlightening book.

“I Would Recommend This Book to Teenagers…”

Sliding - blog Sliding Beneath the Surface

The St. Augustine Trilogy:

Book I

Young adult, paranormal & historical

A review placed on Amazon by kwright711

Sliding Beneath the Surface was an interesting mix of magical realism and history.

“I enjoyed reading Jeffrey’s interpretation of events and his interactions with Lobo and Carla as they occurred throughout the novel. His descriptions were vivid, and I was intrigued with his connection to his ancestor and the other soldiers of the war.

“Lobo’s abilities were necessary for Jeff’s growth as a person, and Carla was the best friend that everyone wishes they had.

“The dream world that existed, where the events that transpire can become reality, was a creative twist that added to the suspense of the storyline. I also thought that dividing the book into four parts depicted Jeffrey’s growth as the main character and enabled readers to see Jeffrey’s change in thinking.

“As a high school reading teacher, I would recommend this book to teenagers interested in history and paranormal concepts and ideas.”

“Educational and Intriguing.” Young Adult, Paranormal & Historical.

Sliding - blog Sliding Beneath the Surface

The St. Augustine Trilogy:

Book I

A review placed on Amazon by ReadingSara23.

“As a 6th grade teacher, I really appreciate the history that is fused throughout this novel. This book would be a great read-aloud in a history class or any other class. Many of my students are really into paranormal stories right now, and I know that this would be a perfect read for them.

“I read a lot of young adult novels so that I can recommend specific books to my students and unlike some in this genre, this author does not “talk down” to his young readers. There is the perfect amount of character development so you really know who the characters are, but enough action to keep the young reader interested.

“This is also one of those wonderful stories that unfolds itself like an onion. It is mysterious and unpredictable.

“Don’t pass this one up! It’s a great read! I’m looking forward to the next one!”
