Professor Strobel’s Superb Bowls
Professor Scott Strobel carves out time from his busy schedule as a Yale vice president and overseeing two labs in biophysics and biochemistry to make things of beauty: wooden bowls reclaimed from fallen trees around campus. Playing off a pun of his university’s football stadium, and with an approving nod from his colleagues in the Yale administration, he calls them “Yale Bowls.”

Life-Sized Pirate Ship from Cardboard
Treasure Island enthusiasts and friends Josh, Mikey, and Joel created a monumental tribute to the pirate life with a life-sized ship, complete with buxom figurehead, made entirely from cardboard and hot glue in just 5 days.

Afinia Responds to Stratasys II: You Failed To Disclose Old Patents, Printers
Today, Afinia took another big shot at Stratasys’ 3D printing patents. In its amended response, Afinia attempted to bolster its claim in three ways: with further evidence that Stratasys was using its patents to monopolize the market, with evidence that Stratasys failed to show the Patent Office one of its own patents that undermined the novelty of a new patent it was applying for, and with evidence that Stratasys failed to show Patent Office one of its own printers that undermined the novelty of another new patent it was applying for.
