Somehow Sylvester Stallone got involved with OVER THE TOP, a movie in which he arm wrestles for the custody of his son. Made during the glory days of the 80’s where characters were more like caricatures, this film has men drinking oil and eating cigars in the middle of an amazing arm-wrestling tournament. And it has an epic soundtrack with Kenny Loggins.

Final Guys #2 – The Blackcoat’s Daughter
Our second episode is way better than the first. We get better with age. And significantly more booze. And a better movie. We’ve got all kinds of stuff over on the FINAL GUYS HORROR PODCAST site, so hop on over and check us out.
This week the Final Guys’ main feature is The Blackcoat’s Daughter, a long-awaited horror film now available on VOD. It’s written and directed by Oz Perkins and stars Emma Roberts, Lucy Boynton, Kiernan Shipka, James Remar and Lauren Holly. It’s an atmospheric, tense thriller with plenty of horrific moments that you’ll not soon forget. However, there was some disagreement among the guys about just how good this movie really is. The result was a spirited and humorous discussion you’re sure to enjoy.

Final Guys #1 – Alien Covenant
I’ve started a new project called FINAL GUYS HORROR PODCAST with my friends from the Monster Men, Jack Campisi and horror author Hunter Shea. Each week we’ll be reviewing the newest releases in horror movies, books, and television while constantly giving each other shit. Lots of laughs and lots of horror await. Welcome to the first episode of The Final Guys, hosted by Jason Brant, Jack Campisi and Hunter Shea. What you’ve got here is a humorous horror podcast covering movies, TV shows books, games, comics and anything else a genre-lover might enjoy.
Our main feature review this week is the new Ridley Scott film, Alien: Covenant. It’s a sequel to 2012’s Prometheus and a prequel to the Alien movies. Alien: Covenant boasts some impressive cast members including Danny McBride, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup and Michael Fassbender. It’s also has plenty of Xenomorphs, face-huggers and bursting chests.
We’ve also got thoughts and reviews on a whole bunch of movies we’ve been watching on VOD including House at Willow Street, A Dark Song, Tank 432, Viral, Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla and finally we revisit an old, forgotten favorite, Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight. (Perhaps Billy Zane’s finest moment.) We also take few minutes to talk about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and The Haunted Forest Tour, a cool book by James A. Moore and Jeff Strand.

So Bad It’s Good – Mutilations
We checked out the bad (terrible) movie, MUTILATIONS (1987), with the help of some good beer and Jason’s righteous mullet wig. This movie had some of the worst special effects we’ve ever seen.
