Writing Screenplays: Tools and Talent

#followform {

So here’s a little progress report on ZAK CORBIN: MASTER OF MACHINES as a screenplay. Target number of pages: 90-100 (represents around 90-100 minutes of movie) Current page count: at/around 50 I’m using Celtx (the desktop version) to help put the screenplay in the right format and organize the characters. I’ve used Word in the […]

Would you go see a ZAK CORBIN movie?

Well, of course you would! So would I! In case you haven’t noticed, things with me have been a bit under the radar lately. I’ve been writing chapters to NEPTUNE’S FURY and posting them (to great exultation) on Wattpad. I’ve been sending the freshly-edited and re-written VANQUISH to prospective agents and presses. I’ve been drafting […]

  Many of my friends and those who  follow me on Facebook and Twitter are aware that I spent the last long weekend in New York City attending the Algonquian New York Pitch Workshop. I’m happy to report that I’m back, so I can tell you about the conference, its pluses and minuses, what happened […]

Wattpad Reader Interview From Zak Corbin

I was recently approached by a reader on Wattpad and asked if I might answer some questions about writing and inspiration. I was glad to oblige. While he was only posting his replies to a DelTech internal system as part of a school assignment, I am reproducing Sameul’s questions and my responses here. Thought you […]

This is really and truly amazing.  I decided to start posting chapters of ZAK CORBIN: MASTER OF MACHINES on Wattpad as a means to expand the number of people who might be interested in my work. Wattpad is an interesting site: writers post their work for comment and review. Some notable authors, like Margret Atwood […]

Over the weekend, I traveled to Herndon, Virginia and the National Air and Space Museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, Smithsonian. This is the first set of images I took with a Nikon Coolpix P500 camera.

The Gee-Whiz Dymaxion World of Buckminster Fuller

Since I’m all for writing about past futures and incorporating them into my stories, chalk one more up to the “truth-is-stranger-than-fiction” department. If you want to see what the future was supposed to look like, look no further than Buckminister Fuller. An architect, designer, inventor, and author, “Bucky” was perhaps the world’s first futurist (all [...]

Progress continues with the adventures of Zak Corbin, his friends and a certain seven-and-a-half foot tall robot named Pogo. I’ve decided to start posting chapters of ZAK CORBIN: MASTER OF MACHINES on Wattpad. I’m doing this for several reasons. One, it expands the amount of coverage and interest in the characters to a much wider [...]

Dieselpunk is NOT Steampunk with Nazis

#followform {

Okay, let’s start off by saying that “steampunk” and “dieselpunk” are variations of science fiction, fantasy, paranormal, detective and historical genre fiction. They are offshoots of a category known as “cyberpunk”. If you’re familiar with the works of William Gibson (Mona Lisa Overdrive and Neuromancer, among others) then you know what cyberpunk is. Cyberpunk stories [...]
