5 Foreign Headlines We Couldn't Stop Talking About This Year
1. Zayn Malik leaves One Direction. In the midst of their On the Road Again tour, Zayn pulled off a shocker and an announcement was made about his separation from the group. This was really heartbreaking for Directioners all over the world, especially since we've witnessed the journey of these five back from their humble beginnings. Leave it to the rest of the group though for deciding to continue without Zayn. It might be impossible for now, but we're totally in for a reunion concert even just for one night! Maybe after their hiatus?
...All the Feels: On Falling in Love with a Friend
It starts out innocently enough. You meet, you hit it off, you find so many things in common with each other. And then, things get complicated when one of you starts to see the other as someone more than just a friend. Sometimes, it ends happily ever after, other times, not as happy. Here are some of the stories sent to us this year that talk about what it's like to fall in love with a friend.
To My Ex-Best Friend
Falling in love with your best friend? What a cliché. At first I was afraid to tell you about my feelings. I was so scared to lose everything we had. But those fears vanished when you held my hand, looked straight into my eyes, and told me that you liked me more than just a friend.
To The Best Friend I Secretly Loved
We promised never to keep secrets from each other like how other best friends do. But honestly, I've been dishonest with you. I could tell you all my secrets but never the one that I'm deeply in love with you. Even when my heart's already bursting with all the feelings I have, I chose not to tell you because our friendship isn't worth jeopardizing.
To The Guy Best Friend I Unexpectedly Fell For
It felt like we were two people standing on glass, slowly breaking with every step we further take.
An Open Letter To The Girl Who Fell In Love With Her Friend
You're a complete fool if you're going to waste your precious time on a boy who'll probably never look at you that way. Boys don't complicate labels. When you establish relationships, especially when friendship is involved, you're most likely stuck there. Still hopeful? Okay so maybe except for a) The slim chance that usually happens in a rom-com movie, when the guy eventually falls for the girl too; or b) The possibility of you getting together in your next life. But who has the time to wait for forever?

13 Habits You Need To Ditch Before 2016
1 Procrastinating.
We're pretty sure most of us at some point of this school year decided to just chill in bed and contemplate life when we actually had 5 exams and 3 essays to pass. Now, you may have completed all those requirements with the help of coffee and the gods of cramming but procrastinating doesn't feel good in the end. You question yourself if you could have done better or you might even regret the time you decided to binge watch HTGAWM instead of starting with your paper. So this coming 2016, challenge yourself to minimize your study "breaks'' and doing less important things first. Start setting your priorities straight and you’ll see how you can be so much more productive!
2 Saying "yes" to everything and anything.

...From Our Readers: A Letter from the Girl Who Just Can't Let Go
Dear You,
It's been 10 months since you gave up on me, on us. And until now, I'm still here secretly hoping and longing for your love. Wishing that one day, everything would go back the way it used to be. Until now, your smile still brightens up my day, As you play your favorite sport here I am, secretly cheering. Every single conversation and all even the smallest moments that we have still mean a lot to me.
Honestly, I really don't know what to feel. I'm angry because you're the one who told me to never give up. You even said that whatever problems and circumstances we would be experiencing, we would be here for each other and fight for our love. But you're the one who gave up. I try so hard to save our mutual understanding and to save what we had. But what you told me 10 months ago says just one thing: That I am not enough for you.
...5 Filipino New Year's Traditions
There's barely a week left until the New Year rolls in. Having a diverse culture with Chinese, Spanish, and American influences, Filipinos have developed some unique traditions we now follow every year. As we bid farewell to 2015 and list down our resolutions for the 2016, TravelBook also shares 5 traditions Filipinos follow for the New Year. How many of these does your household follow?
1. Make some noise.
In general, the practice of making noise for the New Year is believed to drive away evil spirits. As we try to progress into a safer way to celebrate the New Year, the Department of Health highly recommends the use of noisemakers instead of firecrackers and fireworks. This New Year’s Eve, have fun with friends and family and get creative using trumpets, toy instruments, and even your cellphones to ring in the New Year with some noise.
2. Settle your debts.
It is said that how we start the New Year will reflect how the rest of our year will go. This means that if you have a lot of unsettled debt at the start of 2015, it will continue throughout the year. And so the belief goes that you must pay most, if not all, your debts so that your year will not be full of money problems.
3. Line your pockets.
One thing everyone wants to attract at the start of the New Year—aside from good luck—is money. It is said that you should have money all around you as you welcome the New Year. People often wear clothes with deep pockets to symbolize welcoming money. Make sure you have new bills in your wallet and pockets as well.

From Our Readers: To the Boy Who Once Kept My Secrets
It wasn't supposed to be like this—I wasn't supposed to feel anything more. I wasn't supposed to think that you were going to be there close to me forever. I wasn't supposed to hope that you'd look for me when you're trapped in an unfamiliar maze or a hazy bubble. I wasn't supposed to assume that I would be the one you'd call for help in your desperate and darkest times.
But I did, and look where it got me.
You were my confidant; and among the sea of people, it was you that I chose to be honest with. I even trusted you more than I trusted myself. Funny, because I didn't know how it started—how you noticed me and talked to me because I am honestly the kind of girl any popular boy would usually ignore. I'm not really sure why it was so easy to reach out to you when I needed a friend to talk to. You kept me at bay. Your words were lyrics to a song that could've been a hit if put into writing. You heard so much from me. You lent me your ears when you knew I needed to vent out, but you never lent me your heart and that's okay. You only treated me like one of your friends, but never more than thatd. For once, I actually felt like there really was a reason why I was me, and why I was here.

[previous|page|next]Gold Polka Dots
Bring in good luck with a polka dot top and if it’s too plain, diy it by adding sequins or glitter.
Pop of Polka Dot
You can also do a subtle look with a polka dot blouse under a sweatshirt so you have the collars peeking through. Pair with shorts and a high pony for a sweet look.
Plaid & Leather
Look cool but preppy with a leather jacket worn over a plaid dress similar to this outfit donned by Emma Watson.
Preppy Plaid
You can also opt for a plaid skirt and a black long sleeved top for a more classic vibe.
Red with Leopard
Steal the show with a loud red midi skirt and a leopard top, keep it grounded with simple heels and a black clutch.
Sequined Shirt
If you want a no-fuss outfit, go for a simple but party-ready sequined top preferably in gold and your regular skinnies paired with booties to go.
Sequined Pants
The same principle applies when you make one piece of your outfit sequined or glittered like your pants. Add something extra by wearing a faux fur coat.
Crop Top with DIY Sequin Maxi Skirt

...From Our Readers: To the Guy Who Chose Me
Just like cliché storylines, we started as friends. But I always knew we were different. The probability of us being close is nearly zero but you were there. You were the first one to approach me and lend your hand when I needed someone to hold onto.
I was just an ordinary, typical girl—one who believes in petty romantic movies, one who believes she has her own fairy tale together with her prince in a shining, shimmery armor. But due to my pursuit for true love, I was fooled by guys who only wanted shallow things from me. Guys who only cared for temporary things like beauty, wealth, and intelligence. It was late when it occurred to me that out of those guys, no one really loved me for who I am.
