Festive Winter Windows
Every season in our Pre-K class, we like to have something pretty in our windows. Recently, we've been studying shapes and colors. What better way to explore those two things together, than with stained window projects? For this project, we searched the internet to find some ideas. Then we modified what we found somewhat, to fit our class.
We found a few stained window projects that use contact paper such as this one, shown here with these cute hearts -http://www.pbs.org/parents/crafts-f...

World Teacher Day
Through the years, I have had the honor of working along side and in the same buildings with many wonderful teachers. Today I would like to honor them by re-posting the design I created especially for them. I've learned so much from them, and that knowledge carries over into my personal life, and my creative life. It has always been my belief that knowledge is what helps us to conquer our fears, and the teachers are the ones who give us the gift of learning.

Dr. Brené Brown on the One Thing More Terrifying Than Being Vulnerable -...
This morning, I came across this little video clip, with Dr. Brene Brown, and it really hit home with me, I would like to share it with you.
Some of you who know me, know I've been writing poetry and stories for most of my life, but due to one circumstance or another, my work had gone unseen for many years. There were various times in past years that I submitted my work to publishers and to greeting card companies, hoping something spectacular might happen. However, it wasn't until recent year...

Charcoal drawings in Pre-K
A few years ago I tried an experiment with our Pre-K class. We were getting ready to take a trip to the Johnson Museum of Art and we wanted to give the children an idea of the different kinds of art they would see there. So I brought some drawing charcoal to school and set up a simple bowl of fruit. I also had some shading sticks for them to try. The pictures below are a few of the results! When we arrived at the museum, they were able to find some charcoal drawings on the walls and they knew...
