Travel to Asia: A New Understanding–Taipei, Taiwan
Okay, so a note about transportation services in Asia. The subways are clean and efficient. A train appears approximately every 37 seconds, always. The bullet trains are pristine, orderly, quiet, and punctual. That is an understatement. But now, I’d just like to share a little tidbit about a short international flight from Hong Kong to Taipei. You know how when you take a domestic flight in the states that is less than an hour, you get a lame excuse...

Read This: Inspiration, Joy, and Life in Patricia Leavy's SPARK
One of the best books I’ve ever read, Patricia Leavy’s Spark is, you guessed it, a story that you can’t put down, so plan on staying up until you finish.
The novel shares an incredible story of difference, purpose, friendship, and collaboration during a life-changing seminar in Iceland. One of Leavy’s many talents is transporting her readers to a place–in Spark, it’s Iceland. She is adept at creating a book that captures both the essence of place, and...

It's a hit! Runyonland Productions' Epic Take on Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along
If you want to take a journey from joy to sorrow, and end with a familiar feeling of being melancholy, you would have been entirely at home at a recent production of Sondheim's Merrily We Roll Along, by Ann Arbor’s Runyonland Productions. With an outstanding cast that drew us in and never let us go, it's hard to believe that this was a college production and not a Broadway tour.
The talent in this production was stunning, a true treasure of a cast. R...

5 Tips for Making the Most of Portland’s Food Truck Scene

It’s hard to believe food trucks have only revved their foodie engines in the U.S. since 2008. In that relatively short window of time, they’ve become a culinary juggernaut. No longer a novelty in major metropolitan areas, food truck hubs are now common in mid- to small-size cities, too. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce found the food truck industry generated $2.7 billion in revenue in 2017 and has been growing on average at a rate of 7.9% every year.

Shakespeare's classic and heart-rending tragedy is one of the world's most respected tragic works.
