What’s New Wednesday #27: Spring is in the Air

Spring is officially in the air! According to the calendar, I’m supposed to smell the rain coming and see the dreary winter disappearing already. Well, it’s a little slow-going this year, but I’m holding out hope that in the next week or two we’ll see the change. This winter has been way too long in my opinion. Nevertheless, seeing as yesterday was Spring Day in South Africa, I thought we’d make that our theme in this week’s What’s New Wednesday.

A Glimpse into The Bone Carver

As the release date for The Bone Carver approaches, I thought it would be a good idea to share some of the inspiration for the book. I have a ton of extras on The Night Weaver Series page (if you’ve been snooping around on the site, I’m sure you’ve found the extras by now), but I realized not everyone snoops. So, here are some of the things that helped me to get into the right mind set to write The Bone Carver.

The Bone Carver Inspiration Board

I’m always browsing around Pinterest for ideas (whether it’s for personal reasons or to get some writing inspiration), which is why I have so many boards! Some of my boards are secret, though, but The Bone Carver’s board has been public for a while now. I do need to update it with some other pics I’ve found. In the meantime, enjoy the visuals.

What’s New Wednesday #26: Some Fabulous Obsessions

It’s What’s New Wednesday time and this week’s theme is: Some fabulous obsessions! I thought we could celebrate the good stuff this week instead of all the never-ending bad things, because you know what? I’m tired of feeling depressed. I’m tired of complaining. This is my life and I won’t allow anyone or anything—not even the South African government—take away the little I have left.

Monique Snyman is DONE playing nice.

Wrong Answers Only Interview: Todd Keisling

I went out on a little author hunting for a Wrong Answers Only Interview and found a straggler from the herd by the name of Todd Keisling. Now, you guys all know me by now. I can’t let a trophy like that pass me by. So, I grabbed him, tied him up all good and proper, and told him to lie like his life depended on it. Because technically it did … I’m not all bark and no bite.

Well, folks, at first I thought I’d bitten off more than I can chew, because phew! The guy’s tougher than Kevlar and I’m sure he knows a thing or two about being tortured. Luckily, though, I found out his weak point is none other than … *grins* … I’m not gonna give away all my torturing secrets.

What’s New Wednesday #25: Loving the #WritersLife

It’s What’s New Wednesday time and this typical #writerslife week is filled to the brim with some exciting stuff! We’re talking books, book news, a peek into what this writer’s #writerslife looks like for the next 7 days (and then some) … Oh, yeah, you’re gonna love it. Well, I hope so. What’s more, I have some epic recommendations if you’re looking for new reading material, music, or shows/films to get lost in. Are you ready?

Writing News
The Bone Carver (Full Cover)

It’s here! I can finally show off this GORGEOUS full cover for The Bone Carver (Harrowsgate #2). This absolutely beautiful artwork is by the wonderfully talented Marcela Bolivar and the title treatment is by the one and only Michael J. Canales. The cover is out of this world beautiful. Seriously, some may say it is to die for …

I’m Starting a Book Club!

A Book Club For Readers by Moi

You’ve read that right! And honestly, it’s about time, too! I mean, I live and breathe books, so why not turn an unused space into a nice little Book Club for readers in general? Now, I’m still working out the logistics of this book club, but basically it comes down to being: “A casual space for readers and book lovers to talk about books.” That’s it. Simple.
