Recombobulation
This morning at the Milwaukee airport, I found a delightful sign right outside of security. It’s the Recombobulation Area. Apparently, the airport director created the signs to provide comic relief in a moment of stress. Getting through security can feel chaotic, and when you finally get your bags, you often find yourself (depending on whether you have TSA Precheck), having to put your shoes, belt, and jacket back on and then putting your small liquids back into your suitcase. It feels discombobulating.
Hence, the Recombobulation Area.
I like the idea of having a space and time for recombobulating.

Worship Dancing
After I spoke on living a sent life, a group of dancers came up on the stage and danced to a special song with a chorus that began with the words, “Send me!”
Their movements were so beautiful as they told a story of being sent. I watched as they danced across the stage, twirling with joy and freedom as ones who know how carefully kept they are in God’s hand. Within this freedom, they could jump and extend themselves fully and beautifully. They could go in any direction God would fling them.

Speaking for Cru22 on Living a Sent Life
This morning, I loved speaking for Cru’s National Staff Conference in Milwaukee. What a joyful time to share all God has been teaching me about telling others about Jesus. Here are some photos from the event

Thank you for praying for me!

Everything He Touches
This morning, I loved hearing the line, “Jesus changes everything He touches.” Any time we invite Jesus into our lives and our situation, something will change. Something good and beautiful will happen.

One Day Soon
Today I marveled at this statement in Habukkuk 2: For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea. The truth comforted me how, one day, maybe not so long into the future, everyone will be filled with the knowledge of who God is. They will all know, and every knee shall bow.

You Can’t Overestimate It
This morning I read a great line from my friend Rachel. She writes about God this gem: “His sovereignty is not to be underestimated.” The line strikes my heart. God is in control. Of everything. Right now. He is ordering everything and sustaining everything. When I think carefully about this, I realize the profound meaning behind the events of this day. They will all work towards God’s sovereign and good end.

Direction not Decisions
At the Cru Us National Staff Conference, I hear the first speaker, Daryl Smith, talk about leadership in a fresh way from Psalm 23. He remarks how great leaders “don’t make decisions; they follow direction” from Jesus.

Be All There
Today I’m living this quote attributed to missionary Jim Elliot: “Wherever you are, be all there! Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God.”
It’s a day to be all there. It’s a day to suck the marrow out of life, as Thoreau put it. Being all there means to realize this very moment is a gift from God.

Every Delay
Our flight to Milwaukee was canceled, so we find ourselves scrambling to find another way to our conference. Already, we find some divine delights in the disappointment. First, friends from our church community group offered to drive us to the far away airport to catch a flight. We’ll enjoy some sweet fellowship! I cannot wait to see what new blessings await with this new plan for the day.
