Compelling read
Dan Strawn is the author of Isaac's Gun, Body of Work, and Breakfast at Blair's, Lame Bird's Legacy, and Black Wolf's Return. I am truly honored that he posted this five star review for Twisted:
5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling read, December 9, 2013By Dan Strawn - See all my reviews
This review is from: Twisted (Kindle Edition)In “Twisted,” Eva Poznansky tells four poignant tales that force readers out of their mental couches to grope with issues—some mental, some emotional, some psychological, all author-centric in their first-person points of view. The result is a montage of innuendo and metaphor that stretches the mind, forces the reader to question long-held views and see different and exciting possibilities.
Who is Job's wife really? Is she the biblical I Am, come to set Satan straight? If so, heresy? If not, then who—then what? Is the sculptor God from clay's point of view? If so, when, exactly, does She imbue lifeless dirt with passion? If so, why does She relinquish Her creations to the potter's kiln? And who, then, what, then, is the potter?
And so it goes: in each of “Twisted's” short prose pieces, nicely broken up by relevant and moving poetry, Poznansky raises questions then answers them, knowing hers is only one of myriad possibilities, that the breadth of conclusions is limited only by the number of readers.
Excellent!

A superbly written piece of art
Lovely new review for Apart From Love by Read-Along-with-Sue:
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice, December 8, 2013By read-along-with-Sue - See all my reviewsThis review is from: Apart From Love (Kindle Edition)
I was gifted this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.
At first I found the start hard going. It certainly isn't one of those books you can pick up and immediantly get into.
That doesn't mean it didn't take my interest, it did. That is why I carried on with it.
As the story unfolded there was a lovely love affair going well on.
I think the one thing I take from this book is that dreaded disease Alzheimer's. My husbands Father is afflicted with this and I could relate to lots in this book on so many levels.
The blurb doesn't do the book justice, its a superbly written piece of art.
Would I recommend it? Oh yes.

Lovely review by author and book reviewer Roy Murry for A Favorite Son. It starts with, "Uvi’s writing is unique in this short rendition of a story as old as Abraham -wanting something that is not yours."

Wonderful story!
Lovely review for Apart From Love (audiobook edition):
Warrior PrincessKarmoy, Norway06/12/13OverallPerformanceStory
"Just say something to me. Anything." And I thought, Any other word apart from Love, `cause that word is diluted, and no one knows what it really means, anyway.
Coming from uneducated Anita, who is a far cry from being a poet or a philosopher, this thought acquires an even more poignant and raw meaning. She is not trying to impress anyone, she is speaking her heart and her mind, trying to cope with the turmoil of her aging husband's fast decline and her growing attraction for his adult son Ben.
Emotions run high in this story by Uvi Poznansky, made even more prominent by her use of alternating points of view throughout different chapters. All the main characters get a voice and an opportunity to share their thoughts, desires, internal struggles, and guilt, just like Ben eloquently expresses in this passage as he is falling for Anita:
"...I should have been more careful...I am surrounded - and at the same time, isolated. I am alone. I am apart from Love."
A beautifully-written and deeply philosophical book. Highly recommended.

"Wonderful story!"A famous poet, translator, and philosopher Samuil Marshak once said that frequent use of highly emotional words robs them of their meaning, making them dull and lackluster, like an old coin losing its shine. And that's exactly what Anita, the young wife of Ben's aging father, says to her husband in the story:
"Just say something to me. Anything." And I thought, Any other word apart from Love, `cause that word is diluted, and no one knows what it really means, anyway.

A First Glimpse: Rise to Power
This is the book description for my soon to be released book, Rise To Power:
Here is the story of David as you have never heard it before: from the king himself, telling the unofficial version, the one he never allowed his court scribes to recount. In his mind, history is written to praise the victorious—but at the last stretch of his illustrious life, he feels an irresistible urge to tell the truth. In the first volume, Rise to Power, David gives you a fascinating account of his early years, culminating with a tribal coronation. Rooted in ancient lore, his is a surprisingly modern memoir. In an era of cruelty, when destroying the enemy is deemed a sacred directive, the slayer of Goliath finds a way to become larger than life. His search for a path to power leads him in ways that are, at times, scandalous. Notorious for his contradictions, David is seen by others as a gifted court entertainer, a successful captain in Saul’s army, a cunning fugitive, a traitor leading a gang of felons, and a ruthless raider of neighboring towns who leaves no witnesses behind. How does he see himself, during this first phase of his life? With his hands stained with blood, can he find an inner balance between conflicting drives: his ambition for the crown, his determination to survive the conflict with Saul, and his longing for purity, for a touch of the divine, as expressed so lyrically in his psalms and music?
This is my quick painting, David and Saul

Now I Am Paper
I remember: a gentler soundThe forest rustling in the rainLeaves were swirling all aroundI heard soft footsteps up the lane
So starts a poem I wrote, where the narrator is an old tree longing for the little girl who used to climb up his trunk and nestle between his branches. Here are two opposite pages of the book. Then, for each verse, I drew the letters (in perspective) on a 'paper leaf' that floated in a 'puddle' in the top of the left hand side page:
And here, then, is the animation of all these pages. Play it:
The animation of Now I Am Paper took three months for me to complete.

How did you come up with the story?
I am grateful to Author Roy Murry for inviting me for a second interview on his blog, a place well known for his book reviews and author interviews. This time, his questions focused on my book, A Favorite Son. I loved the question, How did you come up with the story? To which I replied:
I have long been fascinated with the story of Jacob and Esav. To me, it captures several layers of emotions which we all go through in our families: a rivalry between brothers, the way a mother’s love, unevenly divided, can spur them to action, to crime, even; and how in time, even in the absence of regret, a punishment eventually ripens...

Looking for something special for your stocking? How about Twisted
A crimson glow is coming from below, as if an enormous sun is buried here, deep under the coals upon which I am crouching. If not for the eery glow, this is the valley cradling my village. A perfect copy of the land of Uz.If I squint hard, aiming my gaze faraway to the foot of that volcano, I think I can spot the familiar outlines of houses. They belong to the rich among us. Between them I look for an interval. There must lie the village square. And I know, without really seeing it, that falling to pieces on the other side—where the poor folk live—is our shack. The place where we lived, Job and I, in such misery during the last year. Imagining it, even for a second, frays my nerves.
