I'm not AI
And I have the receipts to prove it....but I am perplexing. That being said, I'll share more on that later. For now, read this damn good story that makes me jealous.

I had shared some short stories from AI bots here.
And none of them were all that great. But this one was pretty damn scary. I understand it's not "real" (what ever that means) but it's crazy to read a bot saying that. Check it out.

Sanctions on Syria lifted.
Appears that they lifted them for now. Good, though one wishes that they lifted them for a longer time period.

Text Based Games.
Very cool AMA and book here on the genre. Interesting to go through IMO. Or maybe I'm procrastinating my deadline to create something by end of the week 😱

Hersh Full of It?
A retort to Hersh. I decided to post it after talking to a friend who still thinks it's not the west and is, in fact, Russia who did it. Would seem odd to me (and wouldn't our PR be screaming it from the rooftops?[1]) if that were true. On the note of the retort. One point is that finding mines as a cover option for the crime is laughable. Good point but it would appear that we need more details to further speak to this detail (it is implied that it was added, but it's also not certain if a specific kind of exercise would have covered what they were doing).
The point to the ship used being wrong seems like a stronger rebuttal to me. This includes the possibility of another ship that wasn't anywhere close. I will say I couldn't find confirmation online for what ships were used in the exercise.
Ditto for the info on the plane (though how we know is beyond me. If it's a secret op, how would we know it flew near there?).
That being said, this too is a convincing article and I wonder what to make of where the truth is. After all, if the above article is true Hersh is either straight lying or being lied to (and older people don't have good gut instinct for when they're being lied to).
Hard to say then.
I do find it unfortunate that Democracy Now's interview with him didn't dive into these specific questions. Nor into how we would be able to track a secret op (and if it wasn't the west, then why not track Russians around the area at the same time?). But whatever, instead we get he said she said. And still, the motives do point to the west (and all the cheering that our elites have done since). And when I hear about Putin motives I can't help but laugh. It could be true, mind you, but the odds seem pretty low for him doing it to raise his prices.
So still that's the way I'd bet, that the west did it (I thought it would be wayward intel/specops, but what do I know?). But to know anything out of this murkiness, you kinda do have to do a character trait analysis. You know? Figure out who seems trustworthy cause it's hard to find what a fact is. [2]
[1] Only reason for that kind of silence is if they have a reason to make many people on the left look foolish and wrong. Maybe, but the odds (given the history of those with power... who can essentially be summed up as cruel, foolish, but powerful) are that it's not (every time I've thought, oh, they couldn't be this foolish, they have turned out to be just that. They just know there won't be any major consequences).
[2] And, again, when the other side just repeats the same crap we've all heard this century, that all naysayers just hate America, just do the thing that will tarnish the nation while making us richer, I have a hard time believing these people trying to crap on Hersh.

The Culture of Hustle Continues to Hustle.
I mean it's the age of grift, so it only makes sense (and damn, eight years ago I wrote about it in Labyrinth of souls, so I suppose this idea has been around and yet even I can't entirely fathom the moment when it happens... you know?) [1]that AI spam would be hitting editor's shelves. Wonder how much more this will ruin the internet, or if people (younger generations might be able to see the differences or be able to simply ignore it) will accept it all for what it is. We'll see, I suppose.
But this, from Clarksworld, hits home. Essentially places that didn't have that much spam (when I was an editor at ABP there was plenty of spam, but it was the kind that was so bad you could tell) are being hit hard now. This is in the digital space, but perhaps it could hit the real space too. I'm thinking art printed then sold or perhaps even someone claiming to find a lost manuscript of a famous author (written in the exact style of that author by AI)... though on the latter I suppose we rarely see forgeries anymore, do we?
So we'll see how the hockey stick goes. [2]
[1] Hell, there might have even been a story in a million and one American nights.
[2] We'll see vs we'll se (for non visual we'll sees) should be a thing English, make it happen!

Russiagate Russophobia
When the "Russians stole the election for Trump" noise started, I was one to ask [1]: how much do we know? Where's the evidence and even if they bought a few Facebook ads [2] it didn't seem to compare to an election where billions were spent and what about other countries?
Well, it appears that there are other countries involved in election meddling online (would be surprised if any weren't, tbf). And this one points to Israel, but I still have the same questions as there is no evidence this works (it just poisons public discourse which I'm sure many Govs, including our own, are already doing... and it certainly leads to mistrust amongst the people). Hell the costs here seem minuscule and, like the Russians, if they can influence an election for that cheap, they need to charge a lot more and just get crazy rich...
That being said, as I said... a decade ago (jfc, that's a while back huh?)... what all this is setting up is a poisoning of social trust... that is all. Hope no one here trusts social media. You do have to verify more than ever before...
and tbf, this guy just sounds like some ex-SF guy (yeah I know kettle black and all) trying to hustle through life. His hacking into Telegram is interesting.. but still. There are bigger fish out there and it ain't him (for example the article talks about him seeding stories... fine, but our journalists seem to be the worst in this, and they do it by parroting the State Dept or WH).
[1] Initially I too wanted to believe that it was stolen... and hell, if we get rid of all electronic voting machines we'd be better off IMO)
[2] (it was never that much and if you looked at views it was pathetic... hell the Times article saying that they reached 100M people was laughable. I've run ads on FB and for a few hundred can reach close to 100,000s of people... that doesn't translate into eyeballs paying attention or sales...)

Still Going On.
Still more balloons to shoot down overhead... sigh. And more people to virtue signal about a select few people who they care about (and sometimes others who they only care about when the other team is in charge). Also note the famine in Afghanistan, which has families selling their children off or giving them sedatives so that they sleep.

Rebuttals aren't what they used to be
Maybe they were never useful. I was trying to find if what this specific doctor said about masks was any good. But instead of attacking the exact points he said, the article went on about something he wrote a while back and more so about how he was basically with Qanon if he had any similarities with them (like, how now anyone against militarism is with Putin or right wingers here etc). It just blows my mind, tbf.
