Decent Article

Takes a look at the various possibilities and basically we can't know. So the 3 main parties are: Russia, USA, or a 3rd party. Note if, say, the UK did this with the tacit approval of the US, or Belarus with the approval of Russia, that counts as the client state. I should say if it ends up being a rogue colonel or intel branch that has done this (of any country, but mainly of the great powers, or great power blocks), that could be a 4th choice. My 3rd choice is non-state actors though it appears the know-how required to explode a large explosion underwater no less, would almost entirely negate that. I'm thinking if it is this, it could be far right Ukrainians or someone else who managed to get some of the awesome weapons we're sending over there and not keeping track of (yes I think the blowback will be worse than even Afghanistan, but we'll have to wait and see which of the great powers gets it worse). Note that I think the likelihood of this (esp of Ukrainian right wingers going rogue) to be very very low. We'll see. Should take be taking bets on this, given the loud mouths on all sides on the internet, but can't. What a shite system . Note as a little joke, one could say aliens did it:
Yeh the theories circulating are kinda silly, but it's what you get when you have dramatic events without a way to attribute them to anything (and if you do, because with great powers and energy systems being involved, that's fine given the historical importance, but assign some probabilities, please, and let's place some bets). Could be aliens, for all we know. I mean, think about it. We just put up the Webb telescope. The aliens, well, they like their privacy (see the documentary, Alien, for more on this reaction)so this was basically asking for trouble. They fly over and see that we're at each other's throats and so they decide that they might not have to even wage war against us, just keep us fighting each other, and so they start these little sabotage events that get us more and more paranoid and willing to escalate. I mean, think about it!

Germany Going Down?

Heard a few people mention it, but it really seems like they're hurting. Look at all this article has to say about their situation. Wow. The US wants the EU on their own energy, but at this price? Really no long term thinking here. And what happens when Germany's industry etc fail? Not good things, as history shows. Man is this going to hurt, especially with the Nordstream 2 now blown up (who did it? Who knows, but I'd bet on not Russia for now... a slight favorite there, US next with a 3rd party (on their own) a last). Thoughts? Hard to know, tbf, and people who seem certain are not basing it on much.

Get Your Flu Shots, people.

Well. if you're in the States. Or Northern Hemisphere. Looks like it's already kicking off here. Be wary and be good. Get your shot. Probably wear a mask too, when indoors, but that's too hard for most of us, apparently. 
Back to other important things, well, it appears that our MSM's hate for Snowden and others will continue without much discussion. Did he do anything illegal? No, he uncovered illegal actions of our gov. 

Note I put this up in a Chomsky subreddit and the reaction was that I was obviously Russian. The vitriol out there (nvm that some of it is possibly just DOD paid trolls, as they were recently given a boost in funding) is impressive. So, now, Ray McGovern is persona non grata because he's on RT? Nevermind all his previous work? Like Chomsky said, this kind of narrowing of the discussion is pretty bad but in line with the amount of control the elites want [1].
And the same goes for both sides on the Nordstream pipeline getting blown up. Plenty of fog of war out there, so how are both sides so certain? I think I lean away from Russia doing it since it seems nuts for them to do so. A 3rd party (don't think far right Ukrainians have that ability tbf)? Kinda doubt that too. The US? I lean that way but only because of historical tendencies, I have little to no proof either way. 
[1] and yeah I get the right wing's seemingly pro-Russia, which is not what Ray McGovern or most anyone is about (or making this a pro-woke war etc), but impressive how these things work out.

Are our Elites out of touch?

No, it must be us who are wrong. 
But seriously, look at the prices here. What is going on in their heads? Do they not pay any bills? Reminds me of an interesting lecture I saw. Basically Summers and some guy are talking about men who don't work. Now they showed some interesting facts about men who don't work and I thought oh that is something (the trend line is from the 60s, basically), but then you start to hear them talk about why this is. And oh man, is it some turgid stupid stuff. Like old men yelling about how middle school mores must be the reason or how these men must not want to show up to work on time and so forth. It blew my mind at how out of touch these people, ostensibly the ones paid the most to solve such problems, were. 
Once more the world's craziness outdoes my imagination. 
But there's hope. Just like the previous poll I shared, where boomers were the most for fighting Russia while younger types weren't (and people immediately started blaming TikTok), a new poll shows the elite's attempt to gin up Russia hate has been futile. Now look at how the comments on twitter (certainly an elite-heavy place) react to this. Just screaming over and over and Russiaphobia over and over. Very impressive. 
But again, there's hope (just like a war poll, even for WWII was way more pacifist than I would have imagined).

But apparently all over the internet people keep popping up with "friends got vaxxed and are now close to death" lines, or that "they said 95% and now look!" Yes the virus changed (not sure who these people were listening to. Possibly a couple #theresistance liberals on twitter who just chant like idiots and shouldn't be listened to. But plenty were saying this virus is gonna change and a yearly vax would most likely be needed. Plenty were also saying that it will change. 
And guess what?
Omicron was certainly a huge change and one that virologists didn't expect [1] and so now we have to deal with those consequences (never mind future mutations). But words like these really worry me given how much it's pulling us apart:

But the people who are so anti-science, anti-public safety, etc. are people I don’t really tolerate. I’ve had to stop talking to three family members when they told me blatant lies they heard from far-right wing media (I’m talking worse than Fox News.) They SWEAR they have friends that developed cancer, 7 (!) autoimmune disorders, or COVID itself after one COVID vaccine. I’ve had two personal friends that would scream at doctors, nurses, or really anyone in scrubs when they wouldn’t allow them to bring vitamin C, zinc, ivermectin, etc. to other friends in the hospital. I don’t tolerate the people that picketed outside an outpatient oncology clinic and peds hospital for mask mandates during one of the surges of COVID.

I get it and I'm not much better. But damn, our oligarchs are probably chuckling away. 
[1] And this is what I really don't like about the loudest conspiracy theorists is that there was a power play behind closed doors and that the media didn't focus on: where the rich companies in Europe and the US didn't want to share IP secrets to save the world and got their delays and thus we got omicron... just conspiratorial in all ways but they go crazy saying it's 5G whatever. Serisouly makes me think that corporations are behind these conspiracies as it lets them continue to raid our country and world as they please while people fight over other things.
