Runes
In doing some research for my second werewolf book I’ve been reading about runes. In my book Marked the werewolves had symbols on their wrists when they transformed and I based the shapes on runes. My second book will have a bit more about runes in it so I decided to share some of that information here just because it was interesting to me and might be to someone else. DISCLAIMER!! I do not profess to be any kind of EXPERT in runes or even have much knowledge about them. Actually I have NO knowledge except what I’m beginning to learn now. I’m just gathering some general basic information and that’s what I hope to share.
No one knows EXACTLY how old runes are. Evidence of them can be seen as far back as 1300BC. Runes have names which have meaning indicating they had some magical or religious significance. The word rune itself comes from the Norse word Runa meaning secret or mystery. Runes represent objects, gods, people animals, concepts and occurrences. They are frequently felt to have a symbology that is a powerful form of communication. There is believed to be a link between the power of the mind as well as other magical properties which are represented by the symbology contained within each symbolic letter. Rune stones are set of 24 ancient alphabetic symbols although the number of runes was somewhat fluid over time. The basic 24 are called the FuThark which comes from the sounds of the six letters. The 24 Runic signs are arranged into three families of 8 runes each. Later I’ll share more about meanings of some runes.

What's up now!
I thought I'd give an update on where I'm at right now with books and writing. I'm presently trying hard to get Book 2 of my werewolf series done. I'd originally planned to title it Relentless. But wow, there are an awful lot of books with that title. So I'm trying to come up with something else. I'm open to suggestions if anyone wants to give one. Also I'm busy getting organized to post links to my second book Breathe, the first book in my Atlantis series. Breathe is now live and available at Amazon and B&N and hopefully very soon at Ibooks. I'll also, hopefully, have links to print versions of both books shortly. I'll be having a book extravaganza later this month, more info to come on that...well...LATER!!! There will be prizes!! So that's it for now but much more to come soon!!

Where in I decided to write a werewolf book
Okay, so many moons ago. (LOL moons, werewolves) Anyway, I had the idea to write a werewolf book forever ago and many starts and stops later, I finally had it done. And now it's up and available. (With quite an awesome cover, I might add. Thanks Claudia at PhatpuppyArt!) But the idea really came to me when one afternoon I went to get my min pin boy from his kennel area where he stayed when we were at work. (He only did that for a short time. He has much nicer digs now.) So when I let him out into the yard he ran about as min pins often do and as we both went past an overgrown lane that led into the woods I suddenly saw a coyote cross the lane not twenty yards away from us. (I did mention I live in the woods right? As in no cable, no DSL woods) I was petrified. It might have even been closer than twenty yards. I mean he was right there!! So I scooped up my baby but even as we walked along I imagined that coyote just in the edge of the woods, watching us. Fine, so it was a coyote, not a wolf. But it was a REALLY BIG grayish coyote. And I thought... I want to write a werewolf book that's creepy like I feel creepy now with that big freakin coyote watching me. So maybe he wasn't watching, but I bet he was. He probably wanted my little boy for a snack. So of course when I wrote the book it had to have a min pin in it. Inspired by the boy in puppy dog clothes. Yes, that's him in the picture. My inspiration for Beowulf in my book Marked. He is eating up his toy squirrel in this picture. But what he really loves are mice. He's a way better mouser than the cats!! And so that's how a werewolf book came to be from a coyote and a min pin. Only in my weird brain!

At Last
So finally my young adult werewolf book Marked is available in ebook format at Amazon and Barnes and Nobles. For now only the ebook is available. The print book will be a few more weeks. I'm busy working on my young adult Atlantis book which I hope to have available soon. For now these are the only two sites but if you have another favorite site to get ebooks let me know and I will try and get on there. These were the two most familiar to me. Well back to work and if you decide to purchase and read Marked I hope you enjoy!!

About Marked
I'm posting below a blurb about Marked.
Nightmares and sleepwalking haven’t made good bedfellows for Alexis Miller for the last year. Now that she’s been exiled to the swamps of Lebeaux, Louisiana to spend the summer with an aunt she barely knows, she’ll have to deal with the problem on her own. But Lebeaux has its own problems. People are dying here and no one seems to be able to stop it.New friends and a new guy she’s falling in love with should make for a good summer, but Alexis’ nightmares and sleep walking are escalating and are populated with the wolves she sees lurking in the woods near her aunt’s home. The visions she’s seeing of blood and death have Alexis wondering what exactly she’s doing when she’s sleepwalking and the discovery of her aunt’s bloody shirt makes her question her Aunt Louise’s involvement in the recent deaths. Even the sheriff is giving Alexis accusing looks. Before summer ends Alexis will learn an ominous truth. One that will change her life forever

One of My Favorites
I was thinking about my favorite foods. Now it's not like I have just one or two, but I'm choosing one that stands out to me today. My go to dip is quick and easy. Everyone always likes it and wants the recipe so I'm putting it up here just in case anyone reads this and suddenly realizes.. "crap, I've got to take something to work for that party". You can take this. Just get a roll of Jimmy Dean sausage (yes, I believe it makes a difference so use the good stuff). Brown this and drain it. Then you can put it back in a pan or toss it in the crockpot and let it all cook slowly. To the sausage add one 8 oz. cream cheese, 8 oz sour cream, 1 can rotel. Heat until it's all mixed together and serve with tortilla chips. (right it's not good for your diet) I got this recipe from my sister in law and I love it. I'm ashamed to say I have been known to make it and eat it for dinner. So sad. It is generally well liked by most people and it's what all my co workers want me to bring whenever we have something at work. If you need a quick carry out for a party or get together try this. You won't be disappointed.
