A Crying Time
laugh
laugh loud
laugh long
laugh while the angels sing
sad songs of the heartbreak resurrection
laugh as their tears tear dry burning burrows
down swollen cherub cheeks
and laugh at their broken winged decent
to the heaven of their hell
when you hear the bell
laugh at its off time toll
laugh while the heads roll and
while the children scream
from the midnight sun
rising black through
the poison purple air that breathes
like the serrated edge of
a murder mad kitchen knife
laugh
laugh loud
laugh long
look in the mirror’s scattered shards and
laugh and
laugh and
laugh
laugh yourself
unto
death
