Glitterbomb #1 Rushed to 2nd Printing!
GLITTERBOMB Explodes!
The first issue is fast-tracked to second printing
“Taut, human, creepy s**t. Finding a new angle on the Hollywood meat factory is hard as hell, but this is all kinds of neat.” — Kieron Gillen (THE WICKED + THE DIVINE)
Image Comics is pleased to announce GLITTERBOMB #1 by Jim Zub and Djibril Morissette-Phan is being rushed back to print in order to keep up with demand.
The explosive new series is the story of Farrah Durante, a middle-aged actress hunting for her next gig in an industry where youth trumps experience. But the shallow, celebrity-obsessed culture she’s drowning in isn’t the only problem—her frustrations are a powerful lure for something horrifying out beyond the water…something ready to strike.
GLITTERBOMB #1 remains available for purchase across all digital platforms, including the Image Comics website, the official Image Comics iOS app, Comixology, iOS, Android, and Google Play.
GLITTERBOMB #1, 2nd printing (Diamond Code JUL168779), GLITTERBOMB #2 Cover A by Morissette-Phan (Diamond Code AUG160629), and Cover B by Marguerite Sauvage (Diamond Code AUG160630) will be available on Wednesday, October 12th. The final order cutoff for retailers is Monday, September 19th.

Box Office Artist Interview
In this video interview from Fan Expo Canada artist James Raiz and I talk all about working in comics, collaborating with artists, and pitching publishers and then, as a bonus, he interviewed Djibril Morissette about his big break on Glitterbomb. Lots of good stuff here.
Zub Hosting Master Seminar on Comics Experience
I’m thrilled to announce that I’m working with Andy Schmidt at Comics Experience on a Master Seminar session all about organizing and managing comic and other creative projects. Discussion will include financial analysis, budget-building, finding collaborators, putting together an effective pitch, and approaching publishers.
There are many resources available for creators when it comes to art and writing, but understanding how to effectively build a project and carry it through to completion without losing your mind or your savings, that’s not something I’ve seen as much of, so when Andy approached me about hosting a session covering that hard to find material I agreed.
Past Comics Experience Master Seminars have been with industry luminaries including Brian Michael Bendis, Christos Gage, and Klaus Janson. It’s a pleasure to be brought on board to talk about the pitching and production process.
Click here for all the details, but here’s a bullet-point rundown of how it works:
• Held Saturday, October 29, 2016 from 10:00 AM Eastern Time until approximately 4:00 PM Eastern Time with a one-hour break for lunch.
• You will learn from both lectures and demonstrations presented by Jim Zub.
• You will be a part of a private Q&A with Zub and host Andy Schmidt.
• You will learn about financially planning a comic book project.
• You will learn how to find great collaborators.
• You will learn how to be a great collaborator.
• You will learn about the different avenues to publication.
• You will learn how to prepare a project to pitch it and how most effectively to pitch a project.
This Seminar is $295. For Creators Workshop members, a $50 discount is offered on the forums.
You’ll have access to a recording of the seminar for two full weeks after it’s held—including the Q&A portion.

• Nerdist: 5/5 “Zub and Morrissette-Phan nail it. Glitterbomb #1 looks and reads great..”
• Newsarama: 10/10 “With its creature-feature hook and its blunt focus on the dark things women are subjected to in Hollywood, Glitterbomb #1 is a triumph.”
• 4 Letter Nerd: “Glitterbomb #1 is a captivating start to what’s sure to be a brutal and mysterious story.”
• Adult Podcast For Kids: “I cannot recommend this book enough. A fantastic read.”
• Adventures in Poor Taste: 9.5/10 “Strong character work outshines an almost equally strong sense of dread and unease”

• Comics Grinder: “Glitterbomb provides a clever horror vibe as well as great biting social commentary.”
• Critical Threat: “Farrah is one of the most instantly relatable characters I’ve read in comics, or any other media. I think it speaks to both Zub’s skill as a writer and Djibril Morissette-Phan’s talent as an artist.”
• Doomrocket: “Glitterbomb #1 rains horror and revenge onto the everything-is-beautiful Hollywood delusion to fantastic results. Highly recommended.”
• Fellowship of the Geeks: “This is surely going to be a fun ride, so go get on it now.”
• Flip Geeks: 9/10 “Glitterbomb #1 is fresh and original, and has great potential to be a horror hit this year.”

• Metro News: “It’s a fascinating book, telling an important story about the way Hollywood devours women.”
• Nerds on the Rocks: 8.5/10 “A key component into making Farrah a fully fleshed character in Glitterbomb #1 is the ability of Morissette-Phan to draw complex facial emotions.”
• Paste Magazine: “Zub and his artistic collaborators have plenty of directions to pursue, from the mythological to the social, leaving a body count along the way.”
• Pop Nerd TV: 10/10 “Even with the fantastical elements in the story, the struggle of a veteran actor/actress looking for work seems so real and makes for a very enticing tale”
• Primary Ignition: “the issue really belongs to penciller Djibril Morissette-Phan and colorist K. Michael Russell. The sheer despair and hopelessness injected into Farrah make her almost immediately relatable as a character.”
• Reading With a Flight Ring: “This will surprise, thrill and entertain you in all the ways will leave you wanting more.”
• Talking Comic Books: “Glitterbomb #1 dives head-first into the shallow world of LA’s fame-obsessed culture. It uses biting commentary to paint a grim picture of the daily life of a working actress.”
• TM Stash: 9/10 “Glitterbomb is an amazingly well written story, an amazing tale from the very first panel!”
• Ultimate Comics: “Even without the scary parts, this was going to be an amazing book.”

GLITTERBOMB Arrives – Thoughts and Thanks
Today sees the release of GLITTERBOMB, my new creator-owned comic published by Image. Every time a new project arrives I feel incredibly fortunate I get the chance to create these stories and work with so many incredible collaborators.
I’ve said it many times in interviews, but Djibril Morissette-Phan is a breakout talent, both in terms of skill and professionalism. I feel very fortunate to be a part of his career at this early juncture and I know he’s going to blow people away now and in years to come.
Working with colorist K. Michael Russell for the first time has been a blast. His palettes bring a ton of mood to the page and he knows exactly when to amp up the colors or pull back and let the line art do the talking.
Marshall Dillon is a constant when it comes to lettering my creator-owned projects and the simple reason why is because he’s a rock – Solid, dependable, load-bearing. Letterers never get the kudos they deserve and Marshall is one of the best around, so that holds doubly true.
Holly Raychelle Hughes took a chance when I reached out over social media and has written engaging and eye-opening material for our back matter. So happy to have her on board.
Our alt cover artists for the first four issues: Steven Cummings, Marguerite Sauvage, Vivian Ng, and Trevor Jameus have all delivered beautiful and haunting imagery that’s helped grab attention.
The mighty Image Comics crew – Briah Skelly, Corey Murphy, Kat Salazar, Addison Duke, Jonathan Chan, Jeff Boison, Meredith Wallace, Eric Stephenson, and many more. Just like on a film set, there are dozens of people working hard behind the scenes.
A lot of social media and reviews will talk about “Jim Zub’s Glitterbomb” today. Please don’t forget that we have a creative TEAM. I’m very proud of Glitterbomb and everyone on that team contributed to making it what it is. If you respect my work, don’t sell them short.
Glitterbomb is very different from my previous comic projects and my hopes are that it helps me push out into new areas. It’s an experiment and, successful or not, it’s also an important step forward in my storytelling career. Thank you for your love and support.
