Prophecy Update: Are You Rapture Ready?
Nearly three thousand years ago, the Prophet Ezekiel wrote about the end-time war in the Last Days (Ezekiel chapters 38,39. Compare Psalm 83). He said Iran, Russia, and Turkey plus other nations would attempt to destroy Israel, but without success. Many Bible scholars believe this event is scheduled to take place either before, just after, or at the same time as the prophesied Rapture of the Church.
Jesus Promised to Return for His Church
Jesus said He is coming back again for His Church. His promise is absolutely true and trustworthy. It is a great source of comfort and joy and something wonderful to look forward too.
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” John 14:1-3.
How Will the Rapture Happen?
Genuine believers in Christ will meet the Lord in the air at the start of antichrist’s seven-year reign (1 Thessalonians 4:17). They will return with Him to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem at the end of the seven years (Jude v.23,24; Zechariah 14:4). Jim Young captures the suddenness of this event in his powerful video.

This Student thought he had been Left Behind
Many years ago, students at a local Bible School in Pretoria, South Africa, were enjoying lunch. Suddenly they heard shouting down at the river running along the boundary of their property. A fire had broken out in a bushy area. Everybody – including the staff – rushed out the door to see if they could help put the fire out.
One of the students, however, had taken a quick nap after morning lectures and missed all the excitement. The noise – or possibly the sudden silence – woke him and he stumbled sleepily to the dining hall. To his shock and horror, there were no students around. Their half-eaten meals were still on the plates. He ran to the kitchen. Food was cooking on the range, water was boiling, but there was no one in sight.
He was in a state of total panic. “It’s true,” he cried out. “Everything they told me is true! The Rapture has happened and I’ve been left behind.”
He fell to the floor, weeping so loudly some students ran back to the dining hall to see what was happening! He was totally in shock and had to have medical attention. It took him three days in hospital to recover.
When the Rapture happens many people are going to be very shocked and distraught, but it will be too late for tears. Those who do not know the Lord will be left behind, but for those who love Him, an incredible future lies ahead of us.
Who Will Be Left Behind?
I believe He is coming for His Body and no believer will miss the Rapture, even if they don’t believe in it!
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad” 2 Corinthians 5:10.
Some believers who have lived careless lives will still make it to the Meeting in the Air, even if it is by the skin of their teeth. The Lord is coming back for His Church, not a part of His Body… but all of it.
“For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.”
1 Corinthians 3:11-15
Some have called the Rapture an “escapism mentality” but it is far from that. It is a very serious matter to consider that we shall appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ to answer for the way we conducted our lives as Christians on earth. No believer will ever appear before the Great White Throne Judgment reserved for unbelievers, but we will not skip into Heaven without dealing with our issues. No wonder Paul wrote: “Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him” 2 Corinthians 5:9.
What will happen to Religious People?
Unbelievers will not meet the Lord in this first phase of His Promised Return, even though they may have been “christianized” and lived “good” lives.
The Parable of the “two houses” should be carefully studied in this connection. The one was built on solid rock, the other on sand. They looked alike, but there was an essential difference… and that difference caused the destruction of the house built on the sand (Luke 6:48,49).
The Parable of the Ten Virgins in Matthew chapter 25 speaks of a similar situation. Both groups were in the same place at the same time, doing the same thing, but only one group was ready to meet the Lord when He returned. The other group did not know Him personally.
What was His response to the group who were not ready to meet Him? Did He say, “You naughty children, now you will have to suffer but don’t worry, I will let you into the Marriage Feast later”?
No, Jesus said, “Assuredly, I say to you, I do not KNOW you” Matthew 25:11.
When He comes, only those who truly are “born again” of the Spirit of God will be ready to meet Him in the Rapture. Religion, good works, appearances, and words will mean nothing.
One night a leader of the Jewish people came to see Jesus. Nicodemus, a good man and respected by his people, had a conversation with the Lord about being born again. Jesus was clear and to the point. “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven” (John 3:3). Enter it he will not. Jesus was very clear about it.
This Will be an Exciting Day for all Genuine Christians
The Rapture will be more exciting for believers than a bride waiting for her wedding day.
Click To Tweet
I have done some exciting things in my life and traveled the world. Tobogganing in Switzerland, praying at the Western Wall in Israel, touring Europe and the United Kingdom, ministering from the East to the West Coast of America, watching babies being delivered in Mission hospitals in Africa… but nothing can compare with the exciting expectation of meeting Jesus “in the air” on That Day.
And what a Day that will be! The Bible tells us those still living on earth when the Lord returns will not be changed ahead of those who have gone before and who return with Him to meet us. We will be changed together… receiving our glorious resurrection bodies at the same time.
“For this we say to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep” 1 Thessalonians 4:15.
The Bible speaks of Christians who have moved on into the Presence of the Lord as having “fallen asleep.” Jesus said Christians never die. They merely fall asleep in this life and wake up in the next. Speaking to Martha, sister of Lazarus – the man Jesus raised from the dead – He challenged her:
“And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.
Do you believe this?” John 11:26.
At death, as we know it, our spirit leaves the body behind and goes straight to his or her eternal destiny. On the day of the Rapture, Jesus will return with all those saints and they will be reunited to their bodies. The atoms making up their human bodies will be raised, incorruptible – never again subject to corruption and decay – and each believer will receive a wonderful new resurrection body.
“For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first”1 Thessalonians 4:16.
The bodies of those who have gone before will be raised first and then we will all be changed at the same time.
“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (1 Corinthians 15:52)
This is the day we have been waiting for our whole lives
No wonder the Bible tells us to encourage one another with the exciting news of the Rapture of the Church. The Child of God has no reason to fear the Return of the Lord. It is the unbeliever who has good reason to fear. Being “left behind” will not be a pleasant experience according to the Book of Revelation.
“And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven” Acts 1:10,11.
This is Glorious News. This same Jesus who left on the Day of Ascension is coming back again and we are destined to meet Him “in the air.”
“Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus shall we always be with the Lord. Therefore COMFORT one another with these words” 1 Thessalonians 4:17,18.
The Rapture is a message of comfort and hope, not an “Escapism Doctrine.” It should make us excited and expectant, keeping us on our toes spiritually as we look forward to His Return.

A Word of Encouragement for the New Year: The Key to Victory
My Prayer for You
May you find encouragement and be greatly blessed as you walk with the Lord into the New Year.
May the Lord bless you and protect you.
May the Lord smile on you
and be gracious to you.
May the Lord show you His favor
and give you His peace.
Numbers 6:24-26 NLT
We Can Be Sure of Three Things as we go into the New Year
“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure” 1 Corinthians 10:13.
1. Temptations, trials, stress, and trouble will be a part of our lives in the coming year, especially in these End Times
These things are “common to man” and part of the human experience. We need encouragement in these times to be aware and not be taken by surprise (1 Peter 4:12-16). At the same time, we are “God’s Show Window to the World.” How we react in these times will influence other’s perception of God and demonstrate our trust – or lack of trust – in Him. “God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display His wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places” Ephesians 3:10.
2. God is faithful and will not allow us to have trouble beyond our capacity to bear it
Here is great encouragement. He has promised not to allow anything to come into our lives that is more than we can bear. Troubles have a way of making us bitter or better… and God uses them to mold our lives if we let Him. Remember Job? The Lord allowed him to lose everything – his possessions, children, and health. His wife could take no more. She too suffered great loss, especially the loss of their ten children. But the Lord did not allow satan to take away her health. She had as much as she was capable of taking. Whatever is going on in our lives, be assured the Lord has confidence that we can overcome in His strength and be victorious.
3. The Lord has given us the Key to Victory and Blessing
He has given us two weapons, in particular, to overcome any attack and find a way out of our dilemma. The Shield of Faith, a defensive weapon… and the Sword of the Spirit, an offensive weapon. If we use them effectively, this coming year will be one of victory, peace, and joy in the Lord. Faith helps us BELIEVE God’s Promises. The Sword of the Spirit helps us APPLY them.
The Bible tells us that humans are attacked in three areas – body (the self-conscious part of our being), soul (mind – the world-conscious part of our being), and spirit (the God-conscious part of our being). 1 John 2:15,16 calls these three areas “the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.”
What is the Key to Victory?
The Key is the inspired Word of God – The Sword of the Spirit. We know the Bible is 100% inspired – both Old and New Testament. “ALL Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work” 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
The Lady who ignored the Key and lost the battle
Eve, the wife of Adam, knew the Word of God. He said specifically they were not to eat of the fruit of a particular tree in the Garden of Eden. satan challenged her. “Did God (really) say that? Her reply revealed she found the tree very appealing. She added to God’s Word. “Yes,” she said, “He said don’t eat and don’t touch.” Her interest was aroused, “the flesh” desperately wanted that fruit.
Again satan confused her. “Don’t worry, you won’t die.” He deliberately cast doubt on God’s Word and assured her there would be no consequences. Her mind quickly accepted that as truth. He lied. We know that from experience.
Then he went for her spirit. “Be your own god.” Who needs God when you can “do it your way”? She was hooked. She ate and influenced Adam. We always take others with us, don’t we? We certainly don’t need that type of encouragement.
Tempted in body, soul, and spirit, Eve lost the battle. What happened? She did not use the Sword of the Spirit – the direct Word of God -to fight satan . That would have stopped the discussion right there.
The One Who used the Key and was Victorious.
Of course, that was Jesus. He put aside His divinity temporarily (Philippians 2:5-10). When satan tried the same trick, what did Jesus do? He simply pulled out the Sword of the Spirit and applied it effectively. “It is Written,” He thundered three times.
God said it – I believe it – That settles it.
No wonder satan tries to snatch the Bible away from believers! So many discard the Old Testament and barely take notice of the New Testament. Does it surprise you to know that the Lord Jesus Christ quoted the Old Testament Book of Deuteronomy each time He said, “It is written”? Here is great encouragement to read and meditate on the whole Bible.
He believed in the supernatural power released when God’s Word is spoken in faith. So did satan, and he fled.
Become People of the Book
In order to successfully traverse the minefields of the Way Ahead in the New Year, we must become familiar with the Word of God. May I encourage you to take seriously the daily reading of God’s Word? Study, meditate, pray it in, read it aloud, share… and live it. Use it as an offensive weapon against the enemy in the power of the Holy Spirit.

“Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
But they delight in the law of the Lord, [God’s Word]
meditating on it day and night.
They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.”

The Second Coming: Christ, Our Soon-Coming King
Nearly two thousand years ago a little group of men, handpicked by Jesus, stood on the Mount of Olives. Their eyes were fixed on the skies. Only a moment ago they had been talking to Jesus about His Second Coming – and now He was gone.
“Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight” Acts 1:9.
Those disciples stood – transfixed – gazing into the clouds. For forty days since the resurrection, Jesus had been coming and going, presenting Himself alive after His suffering “by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God” Acts 1:3.
Would He come back and speak with them again? How long would He be gone this time? And yet … there seemed to be something different about His departure this time … something they could not quite put their finger on. The previous times He had just “vanished from their sight” (Luke 24:31). This was the first time they had actually watched Him go.
The Certainty of the Second Coming
One thing was certain. He was coming back again. He had told them so over and over. “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” John 14:2-3.
But How?… and When?
It was then that they noticed the two angels. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven” Acts 1:11′
The Scriptures record they returned to Jerusalem with great joy. No further words were needed. The Second Coming of Jesus was a topic they had discussed many, many times with Him personally. In fact, a recent conversation on this very Mount of Olives, recorded by Matthew in chapter 24 of his Gospel, still rang fresh in their ears.
Yes, He was definitely coming back again! Christmas is a prophetic indicator of His Return. No amount of scoffing can stop His Return.
Scoffers in the Last Days
Noah spent 120 years building his ark… and people scoffed right until the moment the floods came and washed them all away.
Jesus said it would be just like “the days of Noah” when He returns. People will be concerned with their daily lives, and totally unconcerned about the calamity about to befall them. The words of the prophets will, once again, fall on deaf ears.
Nearly two thousand years ago, Peter wrote this would be so. Those who scoff are merely fulfilling prophecy. In fact, they are a prophetic sign themselves, pointing to the second coming of the Lord (2 Peter 3:3,4).
As far as God is concerned, time is but a fleeting moment. It is like a puff of smoke in the light of Eternity (James 4:14,). God has graciously given men this time in which to repent and turn to Him because of His great love for mankind. Our merciful God is not willing that anyone should perish without hope. It may be possible to live without Christ in this world, but to die without Him is the greatest of all tragedies (2 Peter 3:8,9).
Christmas is a prophetic indicator of Christ's Sure Return. Are you ready?

Are You Ready for the Second Coming of Christ?
The Lord is coming at the appointed time. That is a definite and reliable fact. The question is — are we ready for His return? While the “signs of the times” are evident for all to see, many will be surprised and shocked at the suddenness of it all.
Yes, the Promise of His Coming is sure and those who have an “understanding of the times” (1 Chronicles 12:32) will find a conversation Jesus had with His disciples — recorded in Matthew chapter 24 — most enlightening.
“He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!

Should Christians Celebrate Christmas?
Yes, Yes, a million times YES! Christians should enjoy celebrating Christmas!
Why do I say that?
Everyone knows that Jesus did not come the First Christmas on December 25 and that the pagan Festival of Lights celebrated at that time had nothing to do with the Messiah. So why has the Church consistently for 2000 years celebrated His First Coming in this Season?
The Early Church celebrated Christmas
The Early Christians were filled with a Passion for Souls. They wanted at all costs to win people to Jesus and the incredible growth of the Early Church testifies to their zeal. Christianity was forbidden and illegal in the first 300 years of the New Testament Church’s history. Christians were fiercely persecuted, jailed and killed for their Faith. Did that deter them? Not a chance.
The pagans enjoyed a holiday period in what we now call the Christmas Season. What an amazing opportunity to “hijack” the Festival of Lights and proclaim the coming of the Light of the World. The Early Christians wasted no time in making use of this opportunity. And so it has been throughout the history of the Church.
A Powerful Gospel Opportunity
People love going to Christmas services and wise Pastors have made full use of the opportunity to share the Gospel. Little children learn about the Lord’s birth and mission in a celebratory time of great joy. I can’t tell you how many personal friends of mine have gone to Church with their families on Christmas Day and received the Lord as Saviour. What a God-given opportunity to reach the lost.
Christians have missed the boat at times. Long ago, people walked in the shopping malls and heard the Gospel clearly sung. “Joy to the world, the Lord has come; Let earth receive her King.” This opportunity was taken away with hardly a whimper from the Church.
It is so sad that some believers want Christians to stop celebrating the Lord’s First Coming? No way! Let’s get our passion back to win the lost and use every opportunity afforded us before that is taken away too.
The Early Christians and Paganism
“Don’t go up Mars Hill, Paul,” I can hear some Christians saying. “That place is full of idols and its no place for a Christian to be seen.” “What?” responded Paul, “It’s the PERFECT place to preach the Gospel!” And he did just that. Read about it in Acts 17:10-34.
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” 2 Timothy 4:2-3.
Influencing the Children for Christ
Little children today hardly have any idea of the basics of the Christian faith. Parents seldom read the Bible to their children and pray with them. There is no longer Christian instruction in schools and Sunday Schools seem to be a dying thing. Now some Christians want to take the great truths preached at Christmas-time away too. In fact, some Christians even want to do away with visible church buildings and go “underground.” No wonder our world is growing ever more pagan and hostile to the Gospel.
Perhaps it is time for the Church to think again and reach as many hell-bound and lost people in this season as you possibly can. There is not much time left. We must get back our passion for souls!
Christ will return at the Last Christmas
May the CHRIST of CHRISTMAS bring you great joy and blessing at this time and touch the lives of those you love as you share its message with them. People don’t like getting tracts, but they LOVE Christmas cards and have no objection to the Gospel message clearly proclaimed in them. Use the opportunity wisely and well whether its “the season” or not.
JESUS is still the REASON for the SEASON! And He’ll be back on the LAST CHRISTMAS.

Prophecies Accurately Fulfilled Will Make You Think Again

Prophecies Accurately Fulfilled Will Make You Think Again
The Coming of Messiah was prophesied in great detail thousands of years before the birth of Christ. Literally, hundreds of prophecies were required to be fulfilled by the One who laid claim to the title. To fulfill just eight of them by chance or coincidence has is practically impossible. The probability has been estimated as one in ten to the seventeenth power, i.e. one with seventeen zeros. This is a number so big that we cannot even begin to comprehend it.

Imagine an area the size of the London being covered two feet deep in Euro coins. Somewhere out there in the middle of those coins is one with a red dot on it. Imagine a blindfolded person being given only once chance to pick up the marked coin. That will give you some idea of the improbability of the situation.
Jesus Christ fulfilled all of these prophecies in minute detail, bringing the odds to an even more impossible number. No one could have organized that, but God Himself.
Prophecies accurately fulfilled will make you think again.

Not only did Christ fulfill hundreds of prophecies relating to the events of His First Coming to earth, but He is about to fulfill many more with His Return. What an exciting event to look forward to. He is Lord and Messiah indeed!
Even so, Come, Lord Jesus!
