Forum : What do you see when you stare at a blank wall?

I asked this week to friends to stare a blank wall – what do you see?

In my case, I’m used to stare to a blank wall or a candle – but I don’t try to empty my mind because this is impossible. I rather try to follow my train of thought on what happens inside of me and I’m not entirely conscious.

When I wrote the post on staring at the blank wall, I remember I was trying to think about songs, then about the name of the artist, at the same time I was thinking about of the plumber that had to show up i

At the end of the black tunnel - Part 1

Paulo Coelho

“I saw only a tunnel.”
In the bar in Sibiu, in Transylvania, Sorin looks deep into my eyes. He carries on speaking.
“I saw a black tunnel with a man at the end of it, making signs at me.”
I wait. We have all the time in the world and I remember that when I was in the same situation I saw a tunnel too, except this one led to a hotel in Rio de Janeiro, the Glória Hotel. I looked at that hotel, expected the worse and thought to myself: “it’s not fair, I’m only 26 years old

Your story in my Blog - The Compass by Jayson Marquez

It is Independence Day*, June 12, 2009, Friday and it is celebrated as a national holiday. No classes today. No responsibilities to do. Not one, just a day to rest and unwind. I decided to check some of my things collected throughout my elementary and highschool days. I found various memorabilias. Cards from classmates and friends, wishing everything from Happy New Year, Christmas, Valentines and Birthdays. Popsicle, barbecue, and lollipop sticks shared with special people in my life. Ostrich an

Today’s Question by the reader : Elaine

What do you try to do in the moments that life doesn’t submit you to any challenges and your soul is craving for inner silence?

Moments of rest are normal during the battle - when these moments coincide with our longing for rest, you have to welcome them. This way you can concentrate on the most pleasant aspects, but this doesn’t mean that you are not on your guard. At any time you need to be ready to draw your

Lao Tsu, China – 6th century B.C.

Paulo Coelho

Based on my message earlier this week - about the different languages of God - I would like to share with you this week some of the prayers that point in the same direction:

“For there to be peace in the world, the nations must live in peace.
For there to be peace among nations, cities must not rise up against one another.
For there to be peace in the cities, neighbors must get on well with one another.
For there to be peace among neighbors, harmony must reign in the
