Introducing–>>Hildur Enola

??????????????????????????????? As this weeks Featured Author

I´m Icelandic, live in Denmark. Fantasy is my favorite genre when it comes to writing, and it shows through in almost everything I write. I´m pretty good at spotting the creepy things, so, from time to time, I will write a horror story.

I´m a member of the Critque Circle both the Icelandic one and the English one. It´s helped me a lot with my writing and also to find like minded individuals who can sympathize with my need to talk excessively about writing, my characters, plot problems etc.

As you may have noticed I have an excellent writing partner, Sirrý Sig. and together we just started our own self publishing, Nostri Publication.

Last year we self published our first collaborative work: One Thing Led to Another. It´s four connected short stories, and right now until the 18th of august, the e-book version is free on amazon:

genre
Fantasy, Young Adult, Horror

18078917Hildur Enóla and Sirrý Sig. present four very different short stories:

The Blood Weeping Table, When Hafsteinn Died, Just the Facts, and My Rose

This is a small world. We all have effect on each other,

one thing leads to another in an unforeseen way.

The Blood Weeping Table

A fantasy about a pampered wife who finds more than she bargained for with

her new desk.

When Hafsteinn Died

A mystery about a woman coming home from a business trip to find her cat

dead, and her girlfriend missing.

Just the Facts

A drama about a down-to-earth family man who begins to suspect his young

stepdaughter of a cold-blooded murder.

My Rose

A realistic horror fiction about a man who falls madly in love with a girl.

18517008Six Icelandic love stories, ranging from sweet romance, to the horrors people can do in the name of love.

Love can move mountains, but can it also cheat death? Can it get you to commit a crime? Would you leave everything to be with the one you love?

The Diamand Necklace

A sweet love story

Icelandic Honey – A Prize-Winning Tale

Creepy but tender

A Friendly Turtle

She did it for love

Mine Forever

A dramatic love story

Night After night

A sentimental love story

Somewhere Sometime Again

She couldn’t let him go

22919146Aranka is a moderately normal teenager until those who hold true power in today’s world decide she’s a threat.

The accepted image of the modern world is an illusion. A clandestine force usurps the desires and emotions of individuals, and those who won’t conform must be crushed to preserve the appearance of free will. Aranka and a few others stand in the way, not because they are rebels, just because of the fluke in their genes. Those with power will stop at nothing to protect their supremacy. Aranka is kidnapped and forced to watch as her fellow prisoners are killed one by one.

A small band of outlaws from every corner of the globe fight to free the captives and preserve their own freedom. Kenyen, a young doctor, ventures into the heart of oppression but he can’t stop the terror. He just wants to save one life. In the process he uncovers “the Seed,” the first flicker of hope in a thousand years.

Ran into this guy…

rthawk2

I’ve been taking a little me time in between the fall work I’ve been doing and decided it was time to take a drive through the mountains. 5 Red Tail Hawks and one Eagle later I decided to turn around and head home.

rthawk

A friend of mine spotted this guy on our travels (Red Tail Hawk) and of course we had to turn around to get a better look. I will admit I am not fond of tourists stopping in the middle of the road to take pictures, but on this day I had to do the tourist thing (there was no other place to park.) So, stopping in the middle of the road, and snagging my camera out of my purse, while keeping my out for traffic, I had my friend take these pictures. He only let us get a few before he took off into the trees. The handsome devil. Tourist parking was well worth it that day!

The Healing Power of Mummio

mumioI recently posted on this little tar shaped pill (Mummio.) I’ve been getting from Ukraine to build my immune system and wanted to update on my status. After three consecutive months of taking Mummio I felt an 80% improvement in my health and stopped picking up every little bug that flew my way. Most of my allergies cleared up and I’ve had much more energy. I was also able to stop taking a lot of the extra supplement’s I took. (Way too many extra vitamins a day.) Which has put more money in my pocket for other things:) And my pee is no longer florescent yellow. Whoot, my insides no longer glow!

The regular dosage is 25 days on, 10 days off, but as I no longer need to take it that often I only take it when I start to feel a bug coming on. Or recently, when everyone else is sick around me and I want the extra immune boost. Tis the season.

I am so happy I found this… It may not work for everyone, but it has worked well for me.

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor! I am only posting on my own personal experience!

Introducing–>>Jennifer R. McDonald

As this weeks Featured Author

7304569

I reside in Canada with my husband and two adorably rebellious children. Urban Fantasy is my favorite genre to write but I enjoy reading Horror, Science Fiction, Fantasy, and anything with great antiheroes, cunning villains, and flawed characters.

Into the Veil, Through the Gloom, and Across the Blood Red River complete my Veilwalker Trilogy, and I’m currently working on more magical world shenanigans in my next series: The Helios Chronicles.

22745487Life isn’t easy for a teenage veilwalker.

Lyric has been on the run for over a decade. Her brother is her only friend, her father treats her like a soldier, and after an ill-planned trip to purgatory she’s stuck with a bitterly displaced ghost.

Charles Hathor has problems of his own—problems he’s confident can be solved with the aid of Lyric’s realm-crossing ability. As the leader of a powerful coven, he’ll stop at nothing to ensure her cooperation. Kidnapping, extortion, maybe even murder; everything goes in his quest for retribution.

Alongside her twin, Lyric is forced back into the bowels of the magical world. But working for a vengeful warlock is not for the faint of heart.

Relationships will be tested. Unlikely alliances will be forged. And Lyric will discover enemies closer than she ever imagined.

This is the first book in Jennifer R. McDonald’s Veilwalker Trilogy.

22745421

Lyric Yama’s life is starting to feel as bleak as the purgatory in which she spends her days.

The line between enemy and ally has blurred. To unravel a heinous murder, she’s agreed to exploit her veilwalking gifts for her new coven leader.

But as the Lyric sinks deeper in the quicksand of lies and deceit, she’s forced to re-evaluate exactly what she signed up for.

Is the pursuit for truth worth becoming the very evil she’s been running from? And if so, can she survive the soul-crushing loss that truth will ultimately reveal?

This is the second installment of Jennifer R. McDonald’s Veilwalker Trilogy.

7304569To lost souls, the veil is a cold, tragic existence. But for Lyric Yama, the living world is so much worse.

Lyric has finally uncovered the truth of her mother’s brutal murder. Now her hands are stained and her mind is plagued with the bitterness of regret.

Soon she will have bigger problems. A grieving warlock is closing in. He’ll stop at nothing to reap vengeance on the young witch.

As the consequences of her past march closer, and the illusion of safety is abandoned, Lyric must decide whether to run or stand and fight.

But when the full power of a veilwalker’s magic is unleashed, no one—living or dead—will ever be safe again.

This is the final installment of Jennifer R. McDonald’s Veilwalker Trilogy.

Introducing–>> Mandy Lou Dowson

As this weeks Featured Author

8450633Mandy Lou Dowson was born and raised in a small town in Ireland, in 1983. Family is a huge deal to Mandy. She has three wonderful children, and two dogs – a Siberian Husky who only does what she’s told if there’s something in it for her, and a little white Pomeranian who loves nothing better than to roll in mud, or worse.

In her spare time, she likes to relax with a few glasses of wine and some karaoke. She has a keen interest in special effects make-up and is part of a dramatical society which puts on one show and one concert each year.

Mandy started reading at quite a young age and her appetite for the written word has only increased with time. It would not be at all surprising to find her reading anything and everything from shampoo bottles to Edgar Allan Poe

Montana has bigger concerns than dating Max, besides she’s not sure whether or not she can trust him.

Where are the jewels coming from? And who is this guy threatening her family?

Introducing–>>Rachel A. Brune

As this weeks Featured Author

Rachel A. Brune graduated from the NYU Tisch School of the Arts in May 2000, and was immediately plunged into the low-stakes world of entry-level executive assistant-ship. Her unexpected journey out of that world and into the military is chronicled in her self-published book Echoes and Premonitions.

Rachel served five years as a combat journalist, including two tours in Iraq, and a brief stint as a columnist for her hometown newspaper. After her second tour, she attended graduate school at the University at Albany in NY, where she earned her MA in Political Communication, and her commission as a second lieutenant in the military police corps.

Although her day job has taken in her in many strange, often twisted directions, Rachel continues to write and publish short fiction. She released her first novel, Soft Target, in early 2013. In addition to writing for the online military interest zine “Task & Purpose,” she blogs her thoughts about reading and the writing life at The Infamous Scribbler. 22736873It is amazing how quickly a phone call can interrupt your life, even when you’re a werewolf. Rick Keller hangs up from the unwanted call, but the shadowy organization he once belonged to doesn’t take such an answer lightly. Waking up collared and caged by MONIKER is a quick way to learn retirement isn’t always permanent. Death will be if he doesn’t accept their assignment.

Keller and his new team follow a group of human traffickers on a thin trail across the globe. Their only hope is in a man who hasn’t had much practice being a werewolf in a really long time, a sadistic agent who loves making dog jokes, and a beautiful operative who is better with guns than relationships.

If being forced back into service wasn’t bad enough, he quickly discovers they have many new experiments to try out on their pet wolf. Even worse, MONIKER now isn’t the only one who knows his secret.

Hopefully an old dog can learn some new tricks, especially if he wants to stay alive.

House, Yard, & Writing Time

untitledHow I would love to put writing time first, but I am in the process of taking over an extra room we have for an office…

As many of you know, I’ve had to take on extra work, so I’ve been working 6-7 day weeks. This next one is going to be a 12 day week, then, whew, I am hoping to be able to find some freelance jobs and take two days off a week at my other job. My husband has also agreed to taking on more hours at work when they need him. He’s only been part-time for a long time. What can I say, I’m running on burn out, and would love to get back to writing:)

House work:( The reason I am moving my office is because it was in the living room for a while (we had a roommate.) Our roomy has moved in with his beautiful girlfriend (now I have an office), and I have been fighting the constant blare of the TV.  Apparently I’ve been living with some serious tunnel vision, my house is pretty messy for my standards. So as I’m moving the house is getting a good cleaning, pictures of my new office to come.

Yard Work:( Since our dog has passed the utility guy can now come into the back yard and read the electric- or can he? The side of the house is pretty narrow (that’s where he needs to get in-from the side gate), and he would need to be a very skinny guy or very short. I went back there the other afternoon-how embarrassing- the whole side is overgrown with sunflowers. It’s a good thing my cat is tiny, and can walk under them! I won’t mention all of the weeds I have to take care of from this wonderful rain we’ve been having!

I have so gotten behind on everything!

The reason I am writing this post is because I have to get a few things done. My postings will be less frequent for a little while. With my new office area I will have the blessed quite I need to write-I just need the extra time to pull everything together. LOL I’m almost wishing for winter, that would take the yard work off my list. Almost.
