Punk Published
Next Thursday sees the publication of the first of what I hope will be a series of books on music and other aspects of culture. It’s been a wrench to pull away from fiction and concentrate on narrative nonfiction, but, once I realised that this is still storytelling, I got used to the idea. This punk book brought a major realisation to me – that these books can be fun and very satisfying to write. The Goon Show book I’m writing at the moment is also much fun & satisfying. So hopefully these books will do well, and a new chapter will open for me.

New Books Announcement
Yesterday I signed two contracts with Pen & Sword Books for:
Genesis: Album By Album.
The Goons Go To Africa: The History & Making Of The Goon Show.
I’m very pleased with this. Writing the punk book (out in August) and the Pink Floyd book (just about to deliver the first draft) has been enormous fun, and very satisfying. It looks like I have a new career.
