Synchronicities and the Chupacabras

Over at Mysterious Universe , I have a new article that deals with a couple of strange synchronicities I had while involved in a Chupacabras hunt back in 2005, one focused upon the whole "MJ12" controversy.
The article begins as follows:
"It was late one night in the early summer of 2005 when good mate and Canadian filmmaker Paul Kimball, of Red Star Films, with who I had worked on a number of earlier projects, phoned me with a proposition. His company, Paul explained, had just been commissioned by Canada’s Space Channel to make a documentary titled Fields of Fear , the subject of which would be animal/cattle mutilations. Part of the filming was to take place on the Chupacabras-infested island of Puerto Rico.
"Paul knew that I had been to Puerto Rico previously, that I had established good contacts and leads there, and that I had written about official, FBI files on animal mutilations in my 2003 book, Strange Secrets: Real Government Files on the Unknown . As a result, Paul hired me as both a consultant to, and a participant in, the show. And so, I was soon airborne for the island of mystery, and my second excursion in search of the Chupacabras."

Saucer Books of the Past

A few old, 1960s-era UFO books I picked up recently: two novels based on the old sci-fi series of that era, The Invaders , and the other a book of UFO cartoons...

A Martian Devil Girl

My new Mysterious Universe article focuses on an old flying saucer-themed movie that took much of its inspiration from (or provided much inspiration to!) the UFO research community of a time now long gone.

Humanoids of the Flying Kind

Coming soon: the new book from Ken Gerhard, a not-to-be-missed title on one of the weirder aspects of Cryptozoology and Forteana, namely, flying humanoids.
Its title is, very appropriately, Encounters with Flying Humanoids .
The link above will take you to my latest Lair of the Beasts article at Mania.com, where I highlight Ken's book.
With a foreword from Dr. Karl Shuker, this is definitely one to get!

Bobcat Goldthwait's "Willow Creek" Reviewed

Over at Cryptomundo, you can find a new review from me of Bobcat Goldthwait's new Bigfoot-themed movie, Willow Creek .
Here's the link...
And here's an extract from the review:
"...I won’t spoil the ending, by giving away too much of the plot. But, I will say that Willow Creek is a truly excellent film. It also serves to demonstrate that low-budget does not mean low on quality. And, very refreshingly, you don’t have to deal with a cast that needs to go back to acting-school. Unlike the 'stars' of so many of those cheaply-made pieces of monster-movie crap that appear on TV on a regular basis (you know the ones), the actors in Willow Creek do a great job. Indeed, the quality of the acting is such that you actually find yourself forgetting you’re watching a movie..."
