#MySexySaturday - My Sexy Holidays!

Another week, another My Sexy Saturday post! This time the theme is My Sexy Holidays! And though it might be overkill, I'm going to post another teaser from my newly released holiday novella, Bonfire. My co-writer Irene and I have had a great time this release week, and we hope you enjoy this snippet...

Here, we're in Sara's point of view. He and the vampire Thaddeus are out for dinner after shopping for a Christmas tree....

Pinky’s was surprisingly busy for a winter night. A lot of their business came from people who had vacation camps along the Amite. According to Bren, the winter months were slow. It was Friday night, though. The bar, at least, looked hopping with local customers. Sara noticed several faces he had seen in the store before, and Chase sat at the end of the bar nursing a drink. When Bren finally broke away and came to the table, Sara gave her his order and waved her off. “Take care of your other customers. Come talk to me when you get a minute.”

“Might not get a chance. We’ve got a band tonight. I can probably get a few words in if you want to come up to the bar. Otherwise, text me after we close.”
After she left, Sara turned back to his companion. They had never dined out together, he realized. He had always assumed dining in public would be awkward when only one person could eat. Sitting across from him, Thad looked totally relaxed. Not awkward at all.
“Christmas tree shopping and dinner.” Sara grinned across the table. “Thank you, Thaddeus. It’s a proper date.”
A tinge of pink flitted across Thad’s cheekbones, a sign he was both embarrassed and pleased. Sara decided he had been wrong. Getting Thad out in public was totally worth delaying their tree plans for a few hours. Maybe they could even stay for some of the music. He looked into Thad’s beautiful, stormy-gray eyes and felt his heart expand. He was just an ordinary guy. How had he wound up sitting across from the cutest vampire in the world? Thad’s blush deepened a little, and Sara wished he dared touch his hand on the table. Back in Seattle with any of his past boyfriends, he wouldn’t have hesitated. Thaddeus would be uncomfortable with the gesture, though, just as he had been uncomfortable when Sara had pressed too close to him at the Christmas tree lot.
He searched around for some conversation instead. He didn’t want to think about the lights right now. He wanted to appreciate this moment with Thaddeus.

Silent night, holy hell.

Thaddeus and Sarasija are spending the holidays on the bayou, and while the vampire's idea of Christmas cheer doesn't quite match his assistant's, they're working on a compromise. Before they can get the tree trimmed, they're interrupted by the appearance of the feu follet. The ghostly lights appear in the swamp at random and lead even the locals astray.

When the townsfolk link the phenomenon to the return of their most reclusive neighbor, suspicion falls on Thaddeus. These lights aren't bringing glad tidings, and if Thad and Sara can't find their source, the feu follet might herald a holiday tragedy for the whole town.

This holiday novella can be enjoyed alone or as book 1.5 of the Hours of the Night Series. Bonfiretakes place the December after the events in Vespers.

Dorothy ran Pinky’s, a small sundries store with a restaurant in back, the only place to buy groceries within ten miles. In her day, she’d been widely acknowledged for her beauty, though I had always respected her for her intelligence and wit. If she recognized the similarities between me and the Mr. Dupont who’d lived in the River house when she was a girl, she’d never mentioned it. We had an accord, Dorothy and I, one I would be reluctant to break.

While the phone was ringing, I noticed two paper shopping bags in the corner of the room. The phone had just enough cord for me to reach the closest bag, but before I could open it, Dorothy answered.

“This is Thaddeus Dupont.”

“I guess you got my message.” Dorothy sounded annoyed, as if she’d rather I hadn’t called.

“Yes. What can I do for you?” I opened the bag and lifted out a glossy black box. Christmas lights. Surprised, I bit my lip against a sharp surge of irritation.

“Well,” she said, “those lights are back.”

Confused, I set aside the first box and lifted out another. “Lights?” More lights?

“You know what I’m talking about. The swamp lights. Back in my grandmother’s day, she’d say Old Ivey was out looking for someone who got murdered.” She paused, and he could almost hear her collecting her thoughts. “Some call ’em the feu follet, and people been following ’em to find the treasure but getting lost in the swamp instead.”

I lifted a third and then a fourth box of Christmas lights out of the bag. “And what has this to do with me?” Fueled by exasperation, my tone was sharper than normal, but what was Sara thinking? A single ornament was one thing, but I never decorated for the holidays, especially with multicolored, LED, synchronized flashers.

“Maybe nothing, Thaddeus, but after the troubles you all had last summer, I figured I better say something in case Old Ivey’s looking for someone you know.”

I carefully set down the box of lights. “I can assure you, Miss Dorothy, I have not murdered anyone and stashed their body in the swamp.”

She paused for a good long while. “No, no, I suppose you haven’t.” The stiffness left her voice, and she exhaled softly. “But something’s going on, and you know how some people get carried away.”

Sara wandered out of the kitchen, his smile brightening when he saw I’d discovered his secret. “Things will die down. They always do.” I knew that from experience. As a solitary man who kept to himself, I periodically came under scrutiny from the neighborhood. There would be talk, and the bravest would come down the river to my house and poke around. My assistant, or maybe Mayette, would allay their fears, and the next good bit of gossip would distract them.

She snorted. “Well maybe you should, I don’t know, see if you can find where those witch lights are coming from.”

Now we’d come to the root of her problem. She wanted me to investigate. Sara pulled one of the strings of lights out of its box and plugged it in, flooding the room with color. I blinked hard against the glare. “You think that will help?”

“Yep. So far, everyone who’s gone missing has turned back up, but if they didn’t, well, that’d be real bad.”

“Look!” Sara’s enthusiasm bled through his whispered comment. He pressed a button so the lights started flashing. “They work.”

I waved off Sara’s laughter. “I agree. Thank you for the information, and I’ll let you know what I find out.”

She thanked me, grudgingly, and ended the call. I hung up slowly, considering the best approach to take.

“You don’t mind, do you, Thaddeus?” Sara unplugged the string of lights and began packing them away. “I wanted to surprise you, put some lights on the porch and maybe on the banister. We don’t have to do the whole Christmasy-Christmas thing, but the lights are pretty.”

Did I mind? Yes, in theory, though when faced with the hope in his eyes, I found the idea of decorating might not be so intolerable. “We do have a bauble.” I sighed, rubbing at the tension in my neck. “I think, Sara, you could ask me to hang the Christmas star in the heavens, and I would find a way to accomplish the task.”

“You’re crazy.” He ducked, hiding behind a shield of hair.

Unable to resist the temptation, I crossed the room and wrapped my arms around him. “You may be right.”

#MySexySaturday - Sexy in the Sky!

So here we are, one week later....or two weeks, if you're me. Last week I was swept up in the overwhelming business that is getting a blog tour ready. This week I've got most of the posts written, and am just waiting till release day.Release day!
November 15, 2016! Now, it's still #MySexySaturday and the theme this week is Sexy in the Sky. But, as much as I'd love to share some wild mile-high snippet, I've got a book release! On 11/15/16! So I'm sticking with the vampire Thaddeus Dupont and his young assistant Sarasija Mishra...

(We're in Thaddeus's POV...)
Our bed.

The bed I would share with him as long as he’d have me. Though at times my inner conflict still raged, Sara was a sin I couldn’t help but commit.
For decades, I’d endeavored to restore my soul through service to the White Monks, and now I regularly engaged in acts that would destroy it.
I found I didn’t care, or at least not enough to leave off my relationship with Sara. Perhaps having lived so long granted me a new perspective, but the joy he brought now outweighed any future paradise.
We lay in bed, him on his side with me propped against his back. After dozing awhile, he rolled over and squinted at me. “You didn’t come.”
“No.” I rubbed his arm, and he settled under my touch.
“I think you get off on the self-denial.”
There was no good response to that.

Isn't the cover pretty?!

#MySexySaturday - My Sexy Adventure!!

And...I'm back and ready for another run of the sexy!
How have you all been doing? Are you ready for some trick or treating? I figure tonight's going to be all about the Halloween parties, so in keeping with that theme, I pulled another excerpt from Vespers, the m/m paranormal romance I cowrote with Irene Preston.

It's vampire time!
These paragraphs are from the middle of the story. Thaddeus has been the target of a series of demon attacks, which qualifies as adventure, don't you think? Here we're in Thaddeus's point of view. He woke to find his assistant (and lover) Sarasija in bed with him, and Sara is describing some research he's done...

His sly smile hinted he guessed at the discomfort caused by his body pressed against mine. “First I looked up ways to raise demons, which, what a bunch of crap, you know? Even with Nohea’s access codes, the Church archives are a mess.” He stroked my throat, toying with me, playing.

When his hand encountered the still-healing scars on my chest, he paused. “Damn vampire.” He grimaced as if something had made him angry, though I didn’t understand why. “Anyway,” he continued, “when I got tired of chasing my tail on the monks’ website, I turned to the Bible.”

His tone still held too much humor for me to take him seriously, but I allowed him to continue.

“Do you believe everything in the Bible?” This time, his voice carried more weight.

Because he didn’t appear to be mocking me, and because I enjoyed the rough burn of his hairy thighs against mine, I answered him perhaps more seriously than I otherwise would have. “I believe the Bible holds the truth, in the abstract if nothing else.”

I let him ponder my statement while marshalling a few arguments. “You see, you could argue the natives who inhabited North America occupied a corner of the Garden of Eden, at least until the arrival of those explorers who had eaten from the tree of knowledge, and brought their weapons and their diseases and their ideas.” The sharp intelligence in his gaze undid me. “You see? Truth, but also fable.”

He scooted closer, and I wrapped my arms around him reflexively.

“Thaddeus?” He nuzzled my neck. “Is it a sin to eat shrimp?”

Thaddeus Dupont has had over eighty years to forget...
The vampire spends his nights chanting the Liturgy of the Hours and ruthlessly disciplines those unnatural urges he's vowed never again to indulge. He is at the command of the White Monks, who summon him at will to destroy demons. In return, the monks provide for his sustenance and promise the return of his immortal soul.

Sarasija Mishra's most compelling job qualification might be his type O blood...

The 22-year-old college grad just moved across the country to work for some recluse he can't even find on the internet. Sounds sketchy, but the salary is awesome and he can't afford to be picky. On arrival he discovers a few details his contract neglected to mention, like the alligator-infested swamp, the demon attacks, and the nature of his employer's "special diet". A smart guy would leave, but after one look into Dupont's mesmerizing eyes, Sarasija can't seem to walk away. Too bad his boss expected "Sara" to be a girl.

Falling in love is hard at any age...

The vampire can't fight his hungers forever, especially since Sara's brought him light, laughter and a very masculine heat. After yielding to temptation, Thaddeus must make a choice. Killing demons may save his soul, but keeping the faith will cost him his heart.

The tub was large and deep, and I set the tap running hot. Sara shivered in the rising steam. Caring for him became an imperative. “Here.” I gently lifted the shirt over his head, baring my teeth at the slashes marking his chest. “Let me.”The tub took several minutes to fill, and I spent the time undressing my young assistant, stroking his warm, bronze skin. His shivers slowed, and his breathing mellowed under my touch. I made note of each bruise, each scuff mark. He was healing, yes, and I swore he would never again suffer such injuries in my service.“What are you doing, Mr. Dupont?”“Thaddeus,” I murmured. I knelt to remove his shoes, shushing his protests. “Let me take care of you.”He braced himself with his hands on my shoulders. “You don’t need to.”“Sara.” I tipped my head up, forcing him to meet my gaze. “You were not meant to be here as my assistant, nor were you intended to be the focus of a demon’s attack. Yet you are, and you were, and somehow you fought it all off. This”—I gestured to his shoes and the bath—“is the very least I can do.”I stood next to him while waiting for the water to reach a decent depth, still lightly stroking his skin. He moved closer and rested his head on my shoulder. I wrapped an arm around him, emotions running riot. Pride, affection, even, possibly, love.Love.

#MySexySaturday - Sexy Has It's Way

Ooh lala! Sexy has it's way? What a fun theme! And I have just the snippet to share. It's, um, raunchy - raunchier than my usual, anyway - and it features Trajan and David, from my hopefully upcoming m/m paranormal Golden Wolf. Trajan's a vampire, David's a werewolf, and this is a new stage in their relationship...(Also, this is barely edited, so apologies for any grammatical craziness.)

Trajan Gall is done. He’s been a vampire since 1875, but two years ago when his lover was killed, he gave up. He’s ready to walk into the sun, and only a nick-of-time phone call from his maker stops him. Reluctantly, Trajan agrees to a week of bodyguard duty for the son of the US Alpha werewolf.

David Collins is the Alpha’s son, and he’s nothing like Trajan expected. He’s short and slight, with bleached blond hair and a preference for heels and furs and lipstick. David’s also pretty clear about his goals for his one-week vacation. He plans to do unmentionable things with forgettable men, and despite himself, Trajan wants to volunteer.

But they barely make each other’s acquaintance when the shooting starts. Can a vampire with a death wish save a sexy little shifter with a target on his back?

I loom over him, barely giving him time to get his legs around before I’m flattening him on the bed, one thigh jammed between his legs. “Don’t move,” I whisper.

He’s breathing fast, little jerky breaths that take me even higher. I tear his jeans off, making him whimper when I catch the sensitive bits. Don’t care. His tank shirt is even easier; I rip it down the middle and latch onto one nipple, sucking and biting, not gentle at all. My incisors ache with want, but I’m determined only to scratch one itch.

“Fuck.” His gives a strangled cry, his hands tangling in my hair.

I grab them again, stretching him out till he groans. “I said don’t move.”

“God damn.” He comes close to a whimper.

I pin his wrists with one hand and jam my thumb in his mouth, hips rocking against his belly. He sucks, his eyes blown black behind the blue contacts. “That’s right, pretty baby,” I say. He teases the pad of my thumb with his tongue. “You gonna suck me like that when it’s my cock in your mouth?”

His cheeks hollow and the pull on my thumb has me gritting my teeth. For a second I’m torn. I don’t want to let go of his wrists, because I like the way his body’s holding onto some tension, as if he’s half-tempted to fight. And I don’t want to pull my thumb out of his mouth because the way he’s sucking it could make me cum in my jeans.

I decide there are better uses for his pretty mouth and reach for my fly. In moments I’ve got both hands on his forearms, my cock poised at his lips. “You did say every orifice.”

#MySexySaturday My Sexy Magic!

My Sexy Magic
This week's theme is magic! And since my newest release is a vampire story I co-wrote with my friend Irene, things lined up nicely. This snippet - somewhere between 7 lines and 7 paragraphs - is from the end of Bonfire, the holiday novella that's the sequel to Vespers. Thaddeus - our vampire - and Sara - his boyfriend (and yes, Sara's a boy - it makes sense - seriously), are celebrating, and in keeping with our theme, I went for the moment a vampire's most known for...

~*~
Breaking our kiss was hard, but I needed more. I licked a line from the tender skin below his ear to the pulse in his throat. “Yeah, Thad. Do it.”I bit, puncturing the skin and swallowing his sweet salty essence. He cried out, urging me on, and then his body was wracked with tension. His hot release poured over my hand, and the combination – his blood and his spend and his warm strength – sent me over.
They may call it le petite morte, but in my long death, this release was my strongest proof of life.
~*~

Bonfire is still in the editing stages, but Vespers released last Tuesday.  Here's a bit more about both of them...

Thaddeus Dupont has had over eighty years to forget…
The vampire spends his nights chanting the Liturgy of the Hours and ruthlessly disciplines those unnatural urges he’s vowed never again to indulge. He is at the command of the White Monks, who summon him at will to destroy demons. In return, the monks provide for his sustenance and promise the return of his immortal soul.
Sarasija Mishra’s most compelling job qualification might be his type O blood…
The 22-year-old college grad just moved across the country to work for some recluse he can’t even find on the internet. Sounds sketchy, but the salary is awesome and he can’t afford to be picky.  On arrival he discovers a few details his contract neglected to mention, like the alligator-infested swamp, the demon attacks, and the nature of his employer’s “special diet”. The vampire can’t fight his hungers forever, especially since Sara’s brought him light, laughter and a very masculine heat. After yielding to temptation, Thaddeus must make a choice.  Killing demons may save his soul, but keeping the faith will cost him his heart.
Vespers is a complete novel with no cliffhanger. It can be enjoyed as a standalone or read as the first book in the Hours of the Night series.

The ghostly lights appear in the swamp at random and lead even the locals astray. When the townsfolk link the phenomenon to the return of their most reclusive neighbor, suspicion falls on Thaddeus. These lights aren’t bringing glad tidings, and if Thad and Sara can’t find their source, the feu follet might herald a holiday tragedy for the whole town.Find Bonfire on Goodreads HERE and on Amazon HERE.

The Hotter the Love by Lea Bronson

Lea's been on the blog before, celebrating the second book in the Hot Model Mine trilogy - jump HERE if you want to see that post - and I'm so happy to have her back again today!

~*~
Hi and thank you so much for hosting the third and last book of the Hot Model Mine trilogy!

thehotterthelove
After sexy cover model Yushka proposed, life is more turbulent than ever for erotic romance author Andrea. He is expecting a baby with his ex-girlfriend, who says she doesn’t want to keep it. How will Andrea's sons take upcoming life changes? To make things more complicated, her ex goes to great lengths to coax her back, and one of her sons' girlfriend is a tad too interested in Andrea's young and very handsome fiancé... On the writing front, Andrea anxiously awaits news on her latest manuscript submission, and she has to decide whether to accept her publisher's offer to model in a sexy photo shoot—the same kind she and Yushka did in Cannes—in the hopes of making a new "Cover Photo of the Year". Considering the erotic poses the previous photographer demanded, can Andrea model with another guy other than Yushka?
Excerpt
We enter a hall so big the tiniest sound echoes. It’s quite humbling. I shrink in my clothes and barely dare to breathe. Dark wood furniture towers over us, with a mix of contradictory smells—orchid-scented sanitizer and old dust—filling the space.

Shoes clamping on a hardwood floor, we follow the tall, silver-haired man into a living room with exquisite furniture, gold-framed mirrors, and classic paintings on the walls. Heavy velvet curtains adorn the windows, and an impressive floor-to-ceiling library on one side has to contain literary curiosities from every part of the world. Marveling, I study each magnificent object.

The man stops and glares across the room, his facial expression clearly one of annoyance. What an oppressive atmosphere.

Yushka stands beside him and stares in the same direction.

I follow their gaze. A young and strikingly beautiful woman is half-seated on a green velvet couch with her legs folded underneath her. Dark doe eyes and pink lips stand out in a pale, oval face. A waterfall of rich, glowing auburn-colored hair contrasts with her white dress. She looks cast in a scene from the Russian classic Doctor Zhivago. Beneath full breasts, a pregnant belly protrudes, far too round and big for her frail frame. Jekaterina?

My chest tightens. The more I look at her, the more her beauty takes my breath away. She’s the woman Yushka was in love with last year. The one he slept with and impregnated.

Her gaze is riveted on him, the recognition and warmth fiery.

I shoot him a glance. His features are tight, as if he’s trying to hide his reaction, but he doesn’t take his gaze off her. This is exactly what I feared. They’ve had feelings for each other. Maybe meeting now will revive them. He has fallen for her once, so why would he not fall for her again?

I feel bad, nauseous, want to get out of here. But she’s carrying the baby girl I’m going to call mine very soon. I need to overcome my unease. Hopefully, once the formalities are done, this is the only time we’ll have to meet.

She tells him a few words in Russian, her voice the cooing of a turtledove.

Yushka replies calmly, but his throat sounds choked. He grabs my hand, palm sweaty, and leads me to a sofa opposite hers. His discomfort is more than clear in his features. He tears his gaze from her and searches me, his expression vibrating with an intensity I seldom see. It hits me—he’s afraid.

I squeeze his hand. “Is everything okay?”

“Yes,” he replies instantly, but his tension is palpable.

My chest tightens to a painful level. What is he so nervous about? From his interaction with Jekaterina, this has nothing to do with the baby. It’s about them, their relationship, and me. Is he afraid he’ll have to choose between us?

Goodness, I’m delirious. I sit very still, take small, shallow breaths, and pray for everything to be all right. Then bolt out of this house after the arrangements are resolved.

Jekaterina addresses me, her dark pupils glimmering. “You’re very beautiful. Are you a model, too?”

I’m as taken aback by her speaking a fluent English as I am by her compliment, and need a few seconds to shake myself. “Um, no, I’m not.”

She raises a brow. “That’s funny. I would’ve sworn you were a model. So how did you two meet?”

 “At an author conference.”

Yushka clears his throat. “Andrea writes books, and I’m featured on the cover of her last one.”

“Oh, how exciting.” Her lips curve upward. I can’t decide whether it’s a genuine smile or she’s faking it.

“Yes,” he continues. “That’s why we … uh … were bound to meet. They had organized a Meet-and-Greet for authors and cover models of their books.” Why does he sound like he’s trying to make an excuse?

She flutters her long lashes at me. “What kind of books do you write?”

Before I can answer, her father walks over to a cabinet and picks up a bunch of papers. “All right, enough chit-chat.” His voice booms like thunder.
