Sam-Who-Likes-Some-Things - Hot Fuzz
Why is this not a huge cult favorite? It's even funnier than Sean of the Dead. For one thing it has a better ending. And almost as much gore. Writers should love it - nothing is introduced without being used later.

Good Cop, Bad Cop
I always take a book with me when I'm moving the car. (A city ritual for those who don't know. Cars cannot be parked on most streets for some hour period during the week, so you have to park them somewhere else, then move them back, usually with about half an hour to go to make sure you get a spot. Which is why I take the book.) Today it's raining hard, so I tucked the book into the back of my pants to keep it dry and my hands free. I'm walking home and a black midsized car pulls up beside...

The Sam-Who-Likes-Nothing Who Saved Christmas!
Not that big a deal, really. Some minor electric work when the already strung lights blew out on the half-decorated tree. Major husband points were achieved. Much more rewarding than hurling tree, lights, and ornaments out the window.

Old Gold Has Died
No, not the old cigarette brand. My 19 year old Volvo 240. One of the last indestructlible Volvo's, before the brand became fancy Fords. It died on Van Dam St underneath the BQE. It's an easy fix, but insuring this car that I rarely use in Brooklyn is not worth the expense. So I have donated it to Kars4Kids and have an assignation with the two truck this afternoon.
