Night Slashers Update

Ok, ok completing this book has been a bit more difficult than I ever imagined.  But I declare that I will have edits, revisions and rewrites completed and this book for sale by next week.  If not I might just have to chop off my betraying fingers.  In other news, I'm catching up on "The Voice" a tad bit unimpressed as of late.  Oh I did check out the movie hunger games after refusing to read the book.  And while everyone I know keeps telling me how good it was I give it a 3 of 5.  There was really a lack of something maybe like a point.  It really didn't live up to the hype and let it be said that it is no Harry Potter.  In any event Night Slashers is on the way folks.

Calm down Apocalypse is just a short story

So I've seen some reviews on Apocalypse saying how great it was but the ending sucked because it just stopped.  I'd hoped people who bought my books also followed my blog but since I only have 24 followers that's obviously not the case lol.  At any rate I shall post it again here, Apocalypse is just a short story and is the middle book between two full length novels.  "At Days End" is the prequel to Apocalypse and "Dark Sun Rising" is the sequel.  Dark Sun picks up right where Apocalypse left off which is how it was intended.  No I did not get run over by a car or abducted by aliens during the last scene in Apocalypse, this was simply a clever literary device known as a cliff hanger :-).  So to anyone who's worried about the abrupt ending please know that the story will go on and both of these books should be out in April.

Trayvon Martin

So I normally don't write much on this blog about news etc. but I thought this deserved an exception.  Not more than an hour down the road from where I live a neighborhood watch person decided to take matters into his own hands and killed a young boy of 17.  While this happened a month ago it's just begun to attract large scale media attention.  It seems the shooter, George Zimmerman claimed self defense and the Sanford Police saw no reason to investigate any further.  Now the case has gone federal.  Over half a million people have signed an online petition and the FBI as well as the state department are conducting investigations.  While much of the talk has been about whether this was racially fueled or not it seems the main issue is being overlooked.  George Zimmerman, a private citizen, tracked an unarmed minor and murdered him.  Trayvon didn't pursue this man he simply was trying to get home.  Zimmerman went out of his way to follow Trayvon and the result was his death.  It puzzles me beyond reason why something so simple is being so complicated.  If I decide to follow you home and subsequently kill you while you are on your way, there is no self defense law that will protect me.  What is also alarming is now they are taking aim at the self defense laws in Florida as if these are to blame.  Zimmerman is not protected under the self defense law and had he followed it Trayvon would still be alive today.  The law does not permit you to track private citizens, attack them and then kill them out of self defense.  They have another name for that and it's called murder.  Even if Trayvon had just robbed the local gas station or one of the neighboring houses Zimmerman has no right to pursue or shoot him.  But this wasn't even the case, he had legally purchased candy and a drink and simply wanted to return home.  End point, this is just ridiculous.

Quick Update

I really wish I had something worth updating but I don't.  I've changed the plot outline to Night Slashers 5 times now and finding any time to write is getting beyond difficult.  On the upside it's seems my short story Apocalypse is all the rage, makes me wish I sold it for more than .99 cents lol.  Creature Kid has really slowed down and i'm lucky to sell two copies a week.  But book 2 is coming along very well and I think I'm going to release a revision to book one for .99 cents or free.  To all those who just love Apocalypse and hate me for not making it an entire book I will be releasing a novel length prequel and sequel to the story in the coming months.  Well that's all for now gotta run to the gym, all this writing is making me fat.

Writing in the Library

You would think the library would be the perfect place to write, but I'm starting to have my doubts.  It's uncomfortably packed today and I'm stuck at this table that was surely made for a toddler.  Between the hefty man hacking up a lung while he thumbs through books and the angry teen girl screaming in her cell phone, I've managed to write all of nothing.  On another note I'm starting to wonder how people manage to find people on the Internet.  I mean I have all of maybe 70 followers on twitter and 24 followers on my blog.  I guess the riddle of selling millions of books must first be solved in blog and twitter traffic.  How one gets their book to their intended audience is a mystery I have yet to unravel.  Anyway enough whining from me, I better get back to writing.

Apocalypse has made it

Just an FYI to let you all know that my short story "Apocalypse" which includes an excerpt from the upcoming novel "Night Slashers" is now for sale.  It's only .99 cents but if you wait until Friday it'll be free for the full day.  I hope to have Night Slashers out in the next two weeks so keep an eye out.  Apocalypse can be found HERE

FYI Apocalypse is just a short story which bridges the gap between two stories coming out in April.  "At Days End" is a full length novel and the prequel to Apocalypse and "Dark Sun Rising" is the sequel that picks up right at the end of Apocalypse.  Look for these to debut a week or two after "Night Slashers."

Sorry I kept you waiting

Sorry I've been away so long world.  My attempted promotion of Creature Kid has become an all consuming thing.  Who knew it would be so hard.  At any rate I've managed to steal some time to write so I'm wrapping up the short story, catching up on Night Slashers and stopping by to give my loyal 5 followers an update lol.  The tour for Creature Kid is still humming along and if you'd like to see the calendar to check out the next stop you can find the link here - www.hollowtours.com In the next week I should have some time to get some things done here as well as the creature kid site and my personal site which is yet to go live.  On another note I just had an epiphany while writing this.  The posts I make will either become a roadmap to success for others when I catch JK Rowling or a detailed timeline of my failure when the books fall into sheer obscurity.  Yes, it's all black and white here there is no half empty.  :-)

Randomness

I'm sitting at my second office "Crispers" writing away.  Decided I needed a bit of a break so a random blog and some people watching should be good.  I'm really glad I haven't had much work this week, allowed me to do some "deep" thinking.  Haven't had much time to do that lately.  It's about 77 degrees out here and there's a nice breeze coming in.  Perfect place to soak up some inspiration.  Some couple just got in a heated debate over who could park better after the man drove the car over the parking curb.  People make me laugh.  A related topic, women with giant SUV's scare me.  There's a family of four sitting a few tables away their 3 year old is boycotting food.  Just turned around in his chair and is making faces at me.  I wish I had my horse mask with me.  Their daughter is forcing them to go in.  This warm temperature on the patio is far too cold for her.  LMAO, a couple just took the table next to me.  A cougar and her cub.  She is all of 60 and he possibly just got out of middle school.  I assumed it was her grandson until the spit exchange occurred which lasted ten minutes.  That Thai chicken salad almost came up.  Well that's enough mindless rambling for now, back to writing I go.
