Ask CJ!
Things have been so crazy in CJ Land lately, I haven’t been around to chat or hang out, respond to your questions or even reply to emails! WHAT AM I EVEN LIKE?? I’m really sorry. It’s just that I’ve been promoting the latest Night School books while simultaneously finishing the second draft of Night School [...]

On the BBC
This week I’ve been doing a bit of press for Night School Fracture. (Out now, in a store near YOU!) Yesterday I chatted with BBC Radio Cornwall about murder, school crushes and why I do what I do. Through a bit of technical wizardry, we’ve turned this into a radio clip you can listen to [...]

Couldn't you just DYE?
Night School fans have been sending me photos of their hair, dyed red like Allies.
Would you ever change your appearance to look like a character?
I've blogged about it here:

On online reviews
Every so often I read an online review of Night School and I think, Wow. You really get me. In real life we would be FRIENDS. Drinking coffee and avidly discussing the Red Wedding from Game of Thrones.
It happened today. I read a review I really loved. It wasn't a rave. It wasn't a H8TR (obvs). It was just someone who really got Night School.
But there was one thing about the book this particular reader couldn't understand and I had to PHYSICALLY STOP MYSELF from messaging her to say, 'Oh that? THIS is why I did that.' Because that would be weird and stalky. And I know readers have a right to see whatever they see in my books.
Or at least that's what I tell myself.
I'm new to the fiction game. I'm a journalist by nature so I always want everything completely explained. But I know that's not how novels work.
It's so odd, still, to be on this side of the page. I've always been a reader. ALWAYS. Now that I'm a writer, it's hard not to run up to all of you, grabbing your arm and saying I'm glad you got that! Or: You are so RIGHT about that scene WHAT WAS I even THINKING??
But I can't do that. Still, know that you can always come to me and ask me questions. And unless I become super-famous like JK I will answer. But once I'm super-famous like JK I'll probably have a staff who do all my typing. And bring me grapes. ;-)
