YA Scavenger Hunt!!

This event is officially over. Thanks to all who participated!!

I am so so so excited to be a part of the Winter YA Scavenger Hunt this year! This is an event created by Colleen Houckas a way to give readers access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors...and a chance to win some awesome prizes!

Honestly, there are so many awesome prizes. It's a little ridiculous. Not only will you get exclusive content from authors (in my case, a scene from This Strange and Familiar Place!!...

Writerly Tattoos

A few days ago I tweeted this: "Do you think the mecca of authordom is winning a pulitzer or having someone get a tattoo based on your book?? I vote tattoo," and immediately got a ton of responses in which everyone else also voted for tattoos too. (Poor Pulitzer.) Through the discussion that followed, I realized that not only do readers love to get tattoos of quotes and images from their favorite books - so do writers! This is a subject that hits particularly close to home, as the minute I go...

There are THREE giveaways going on right now for signed copies of So Close to You. That's right, three. Which means your odds are good people!! And then there's this:

More info (like where to buy it!) on Epic Reads

For your sake and for mine, since multi-giveaways and crazy awesome deals and lots of guest posts get a touch confusing, here's a round-up:

Eleusinian Mysteries - A Books Talk interview (So Close to You is answering the questions, not me (and watch out 'cause she's kind of sassy))...

Cover Reveal and New Giveaway!

Happy Halloween all! I've been hurricaned out all week, stuck in my Brooklyn apt with absolutely nowhere to go since there are no subways and lower Manhattan is still without power (and kind of underwater). You'd think this would mean I'd be getting tons of writing done...but I've mostly just been watching the news, drinking a lot of wine and making pie. Seriously. So. Much. Pie.

Long story short I need to go on a hurricane diet. AndI'm hoping and praying that all of you are okay and safe and...

Best of Tumblr

Big, exciting news - I revealed the cover for This Strange and Familiar Place! AND I LOVE IT. It's really beautiful, fits together with So Close to You perfectly, and I'm crazy coveting Lydia's hair. I'm not posting it here yet (though I will soon), as today I'm doing an official cover reveal with The Perpetual Page-Turner. CLICK HERE to see the cover, and to enter a giveaway where you can win a signed copy of So Close to You as well as a super secret, book-related prize.

Now, onto the blog...

I have been blogging my brains out lately...though not here. Sorry! I will get my act together when I get a little more time. But in the meantime, here's what I've been doing all over the web:

Things that Have Been Distracting Me from Writing Lately (Part 2)

FIRST off, I want to announce that the winner of my giveaway was Alicia Maria. Congrats Alicia! And thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway/commented on my last post. It was great reading all of your kind words, and I've been in a happy YA bubble for days now. (Still waiting for it to pop.)

Also, I've been a total delinquent lately when it comes to blog posts and guest posts and, you know, book writing. I think everyone falls apart a little in August and I was no exception. But just so...

BOOK GIVEAWAY!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

I cannot even believe that it has been two whole months since So Close to You hit bookstores. It's one of those things that feels like no time has passed, but also like it's been an eternity. Sometimes I'll be walking down the street and it will just hit me - I wrote a book! I can go into Barnes & Noble right now and just, like, buy it! Crazy stuff.

On that note, I want to thank you everyone for your support through this process. To all my new twitter friends, to all...

Book Party!

I've decided that one of the perks of having a book is the excuse to throw yourself a big party. Mine was at The Richardson in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and it was 1940's themed, as this is the decade Lydia is transported to!

I, um, kind of went all out:

Dresses laid out before the event.

Getting my hair did.

So many victory rolls!

My whole look! With a poster of the book in the background.

Here's what I learned from throwing a book party: if I ever get married, I'm eloping. Planning stuff...
