Set in the Game Future
In the year 2519, people on Earth don’t grow old and die any longer, their bodies are frozen and they start a new life in the virtual reality of the Game.
Jex is almost eighteen, working twelve hour shifts, and dreaming of when she’ll be legally adult and begin her long-planned idyllic life in Game. When a bomber attacks a Game server complex, one of the virtual worlds of Game crashes, and eleven thousand immortal players die during emergency defrost. Death has struck Game for the first time in centuries, and Jex is questioned as a suspect in the bombing.
With this on her record, Jex will never be allowed to enter Game, but then one of the legendary founder players of Game offers her the chance to join his investigation into the bombing. Jex must help Hawk catch the true bomber to protect the worlds of Game and save her own future, but the bomber is far more dangerous than anyone realizes.

If You’re Looking For Christmas Presents

If you’re looking for physical books for Christmas presents, either for yourself or others, then remember that the extra short story collection and novellas in the Earth Girl series are now available as trade paperbacks. Look for Frontier, Earth 2788, and Earth and Fire at online retailers, and be sure to check the prices because some outlets are charging more than the recommended prices.
You could also treat yourself to my new full length book, Telepath, set in the Hive Future.

Earth and Fire is now out in paperback
My Earth Girl novella, Earth and Fire, is now available as a 152 page trade paperback. As with Earth 2788, this has a very different cover to the ebook. The full details are here.
I’ve now finished catching up with the paperbacks for those who prefer physical books for themselves or to give as presents. In future, any release that’s at least as long as Earth and Fire should appear in ebook first with the paperback following a couple of months later. My apologies that the extra time is needed for the special formatting, expanded cover art, and posting and checking proof copies.

Earth 2788 is now available in paperback
I was planning to release the trade paperback of Telepath next, but the printers sent me a proof copy of the wrong book. That delays things so I probably won’t be able to release the paperback of Telepath for at least another two weeks.
Since I was left holding a copy of Earth 2788 that looked perfectly reasonable to me, I decided to surrender to the decree of fate and go ahead with publishing that. The paperback has 232 pages and you’ll notice it has a very different cover to the ebook. I hope you like it.

Guest Post – A Very Special Library
Today I’ve got a guest post over at Author Allsorts, where I’m talking about a very special library.

For those asking about a sequel to Telepath.
Within a couple of days of Telepath being released, people started asking about a sequel. I’ve already started work on Hive Mind 2, but I’m afraid that it’s likely to be about a year before it’s published. Sadly books take a lot longer to write than to read.
The good news is that I’m hoping to get another book out before Christmas. More news on that in a month or two.
If you’d like to get email updates when I have a new book published, then please sign up here.

A new story, with new characters, set in a very different future from that of the Earth Girl trilogy.
Amber is one of over a million eighteen-year-olds in one of the great hive cities of twenty-sixth century Earth. She’s about to enter the Lottery of 2532, which will assess her abilities and decide her hive level, her profession, her whole future life. Amber’s dream is to be level 10 or above, her nightmare is to be a level 99 Sewage Technician.
When Lottery discovers Amber is a rare and precious telepath, she must adapt to a new life protecting the people of the crowded hive city. Her job is hunting down criminals before they commit their crimes, but she doesn’t know she’s being hunted herself.

A story in each of two recent anthologies.
Some people will have already noticed that I’ve got a story in each of two recent anthologies.
If you are interested in an anthology of Space Opera stories, then Crises and Conflicts is published by NewCon Press. It’s available in ebook, paperback, and a limited edition signed hardback. My story is set in the portal future of the Earth Girl series, and is called The Wolf, The Goat, and the Cabbage. As the editor said, nothing makes you think Space Opera like cabbages…
If you are interested in an anthology of apocalypse fiction featuring disabled and chronically ill protagonists then The Defying Doomsday anthology is published by Twelfth Planet Press and includes my very own doomsday story, called I Will Remember You. It’s available in ebook and paperback.
