Good Day Readers!
Hello to those out there reading this post!
I wanted to offer my apologies for not posting sooner. Sadly and unexpectedly, my mom passed away last week. As you can imagine, this has been a difficult time for my family and I. I appreciate all the warm wishes and prayers I have received from readers and friends out there. My mom Connie was one of a kind.
For a little news...
Phoenix Rising (Maggie Henning & The Realm: book 1) will be coming down. After speaking with the fine folks at Firefly & Wisp Publishing, they will be publishing it under their label! This is fantastic news! I couldn't be happier about this. So, it will be down for some polish & edits and released in July (I believe that's the target)
The sequel, Phoenix Burning, is also COMPLETE!! I've had a few betas read it and thus far, they have liked it even more than Phoenix Rising. YEAH!! (yes...I do a happy chair dance!) I can't give you a release date for that at this time, but when I have one, you guys will be THE FIRST to know! (ok...first after me...)
My website will be up and running in the next few weeks. I'd hoped to have it up sooner, but given the difficult issues going on personally, I'm sure you all understand.
I also have a facebook author's page. There have been a few teasers posted on it, snippets and such. Feel free to head on over and "like" me. I am also working on a give away...details to come...
again, have a very wonderful day! May it be filled with words and wonderment!

Name frustration...
Okay, you know that aggravated feeling you get when your guy/girl calls you the wrong name?
Well, this isn't at all like that...
My book, Phoenix Rising is out now. I'm so proud!
To attempt to avoid confusion for folks, as there is another Lisa Morgan published out there (more than 1, I'm sure) I authored Phoenix Rising (and everything that comes after it) as Lisa C. Morgan.
Now, the logical soul would say "Hey! Great idea! This will make it easier!"
The logical soul, in a perfect world, would be correct. This, however, is cyberspace- the "other" Final Frontier.
Phoenix Rising is not currently listed on my author page due to the letter "C".
Cookie Monster RAVED about the letter C, and in fact, there are many many items of great import that come to my mind when I think of that letter:
coffee
coffee's cousin- cocoa
coffee's cousin that no one talks about- chai tea
but, apparently, "C" cannot be considered among the great institutions when using it, albeit due to your actual middle name, when you wish to discern yourself.
I had a fantastic author name all picked out before I published a thing. It rocked (in my own mind anyway) but as I toyed with it, I decided it sounded more like either
(1) a stripper name- and god bless 'em...if I had it, I'd put myself through college, too
or
(2) a potential superhero
while a superhero name probably wouldn't have hurt, I scratched it off the list.
I then developed another and was as committed to it as The Preacher's pregnant daughter...but when it came time to publish, silly me, I thought I'd just use my own boring name.
In conclusion (if you are still awake) Please note that I have been published as BOTH Lisa Morgan (in a fantastic anthology collection!) and as Lisa C. Morgan (my own self published book, books, will be books...what's the plural usage here?)
have a fantastic evening folks!

a minor update
Good Morning all!
As the children have departed for a new day of educational pursuits, I have a little more time to do a few updates on this new page.
I think I will begin with information on Phoenix Rising, the first book in my young adult series Maggie Henning & The Realm. I have gone over my bound galleys and am making the need little tweeks. The cover design has changed from the image displayed here at goodreads. I will be self publishing this book via Smashwords within (anticipated at least) the next 7 days! The paperback version will be available soon after.
PR is a work that I enjoyed writing. Maggie's story is one that had been hammering inside my mind for a few years until finally, she and her cohorts refused to let me be!
Now, here's a big question, one I've tossed around for a few months. "Why self publish?" or the more crass version "Isn't your story good enough for a traditional publisher?" So, let me begin this way- I am my own worst critic. Nothing I write will ever be good enough in my opinion. Every time I settle in and read, or reread, something I have written, I always find something I would change. I did have a few responses via agents/publishing houses who were interested in PR and Maggie's story. One of which wanted to know if I would be willing to change a major plot line of the story...
ummm. no.
Am I stubborn? Maybe. Maybe I shot myself in the foot by declining, but, first and foremost, I need to be true to my story. The change that they wanted to make was huge and would change the entire dynamic of the Maggie Henning story (at this time, it will be a three book series.)
As far as self publishing goes, I opted to go this route not only to avoid a major plot line change. I wrote a story. it was the story I, or better put Maggie, wanted me to tell. I hope that a reader picks the book up and enjoys, escapes, becomes somewhat emotionally invested in the well being of those characters.
Did I write it because I want to be Suzanne Collins of Stephanie Meyer? No. Flat out, No. Its my feeling that a writers writes for the reader, not for the payoff.
That being said, what will the price be of the book. At this point in time, I am not sure. The paperback, due to production costs, will be more than the ebook. I have been toying with the idea of making the first book FREE. Now I know what you may be thinking- "umm...WHAT?!" Yes. Because I want people to READ the book.
I'm not a household name...heck, I may not even be a local name, but this story isn't about ME.
Today, I will be using this blog to post a few tidbits regarding Phoenix Rising. Feel free to check them out!
So, that being said, if anyone has any questions for me, feel free to message me or post them below.
have a great day all!

Good Evening!
hello to anyone checking this out!
It's a busy evening in my home- one child has a band concert and it is also my 15th anniversary of my 21st birthday!
I wanted to say a quick hi and let you know that I will spend the next few days updating this page. Its my hope to include a synopsis of PR, including a few choice snippets to hopefully wet the appetite, along with a few other items.
If there is anything in particular you would enjoy seeing here, please shoot me a message and let me know. By all means, feel free to share the site with those you adore, or maybe those you don't! Heck, why be biased- share it with everybody! Tis the season for giving!
I will also try to get an update to the official Maggie Henning website. Production has been slower than I'd hoped, given the busy time of the year!
many blessings and Happy thoughts to you all!
