What Not To Do At An Event

I want to thank everyone who took the time to stop by the Ankeny Authors Fair. Getting to chat with you made my day. Things not to do at an event. 1) Don’t trust Siri to find the venue the day of the event. Make sure you figure it out before you leave the house.(...)

Authors Supporting Our Troops

Florida author, Armand Rosamilia is collecting books to send to our troops stationed in Kuwait and Afghanistan in April. I’m one of the lucky authors to be included in #ASOT2014. This month, he is spotlighting all of the writers with a short interview on his blog. Mine is up along with, fellow Iowan, Rachel Aukes.(...)

Opinions Are Like…

There seems to be a flood of posts on self-publishing vs. traditional publishing vs. hybrid, e-publishing vs. print, and us vs. them. First off, I do not intentionally search out these posts—I’m too busy working—friends have steered me toward them, thinking they would interest me. They are all interesting, to a point. I refuse to(...)

Playlists & Short Stories

If you follow me on Facebook you saw I was working on playlists for upcoming short stories or novellas centering around characters–other than Keely–in the Fey Creations Series. Short stories are not my forte, so if you’re into placing bets, I’d lean toward novella length stories. The plan is to release them as separate stories(...)

Readin’, Writin’ and Reviewin’

The following ramble is my opinion, hopefully we can agree to disagree. There’s been a bit of chatter on the interwebs about writers and reviewing. There are those out there who don’t trust reviews by writers. I can understand. There’s the whole peer pressure thing, If I give so and so a bad review, will(...)
