All About Anne (Sorry, Jane)
I discovered L. M. Montgomery around the age of eleven while visiting my cousins in South Georgia. I still remember kneeling on the floor before a shelf full of books belonging to my much-admired cousin Carla, four years my senior. Aunt Ann said these were books Carla had outgrown and I could have any of them I liked for keeps, and only now does it occur to me that I might have skipped back to Colorado with one of Carla's treasures in my suitcase—because who ever outgrows Anne of Green Gables? Née Draft #240
So I was all set to write a post about Jane of Lantern Hill, something I've been meaning to do for, oh, years; but I'm 700 words in and still haven't gotten past Anne of Green Gables. Hmm. This could take a while. There comes a point when you realize you've swum out farther than you meant and either you have to turn around and head back to shore, or keep on going across the whole ocean. Circle One
Today I went to the dentist for the first time in eleven years. I know, terrible, right? What can I say: during those eleven years I had five babies, wrote seven novels, moved three times (twice to new states), and had no dental insurance. Besides, dentist appointments would have made a serious dent in my blogging time.
Hee.
Truth be told, we've had dental insurance for the past three years, and I still put off going. Classic avoidance syndrome…I knew it was going to be bad, so I put off dealing w

Scribbles and Bits
Has it really been a week since I posted? Just busy being busy, I guess. Lots of creative juices flowing here lately. Rose is hard at work on a novel inspired by Erin Hunter's Warriors series. I haven't been granted a peek at it yet, but her first effort, a twenty page tale filled with swash, buckle, and feline romance, was delightful. I'm eager to read this next installment.
Work continues apace on my own book; if only I could put in the number of hours per day that Rose devotes to her epic, I m
