Cover Reveal: Meilin and the Challenger by Cate Masters
Congratulations to Cate Masters on her upcoming release. Sounds like such a great story. Loving this cover!!

The war overseas left Will MacGregor disillusioned, but fighting zombies at home is a cause he can embrace. Meilin’s another. Tough but sweet, she might make him believe in life again, and maybe even love, if she doesn’t kick his ass first.
When zombies kidnap her family, Meilin must rescue them. But can she and Will save them from the worst fate of all?
Excerpt
A click sounded beside him. Meilin propped a rifle to her shoulder and sighted her aim toward the advancing zombies. “Let’s annihilate the party crashers, sisters.”
A lopsided smile quirked his lips. “Not all the party crashers, I hope.”
Her stance steady, she glanced over. “I might spare you.”
Oh hell, I’m in love. Gunfire erupted on either side, but he couldn’t tear his focus from her. Amazing, how she braced against the kick of the rifle—her slight frame absorbed it and she fired away. Like you should be doing.
As trained, he lifted the Uzi. Stunned, he could only watch as the girls split the zombies’ heads with one shot apiece, the most efficient kill he’d ever witnessed. The zombies at the front of the charge fell first. Those in the center scattered to either side. Hell, these women didn’t need his help. If only the soldiers in his platoon had been so deadly accurate.
Better at least try to be helpful. He let the bullets fly. Too bad the walking dead couldn’t run; soon they dropped to the forest floor with the others.
The tallest blonde held a strange set of binoculars to her face. “There, two more getting away.”
Hard to sight them in the dark. He swiveled one of the dance floor spotlights in their direction. Momentarily blinded, the walking dead stopped walking. Meilin and the tall blonde aimed, and their shots cracked the zombies’ heads in two.
Meilin tapped his shoulder. “Aim the light to three o’clock. I think I see a few more.”
She stood so close, he grew woozy. Cherry blossoms. He struggled to fight off her intoxicating scent. He did as she asked, but his acute awareness centered on her. Built the way he liked, petite but powerful. She moved with purpose and grace, surety and intense focus in every action. Like the others, she felled the three zombies with one shot each, in exactly the spot needed for the final kill: their heads. Oh yeah, a woman who knew what she wanted and went after it, a force to be reckoned with.
She rested the rifle butt against her hip. “What do you think, Lakshme? More hiding out there?”
The girl with almond eyes shrugged. “Probably.”
Yeah, most likely. Better make sure. “I’ll do a sweep and check.”
The tallest blonde winced. “By yourself?”
Lakshme smirked. “Aren’t we lucky? Superman’s here.”
Meilin’s gaze swept over him. “Oh, I thought he was the Green Hornet.”
The blonde’s lip curled. “Horn dog, more like.”
What the hell was their problem? “Hey, I’m only trying to help.”
“Good thing.” Lakshme’s voice turned breathy. “We’re helpless girls, after all.”
Oh, man. Great first impression. “No, I didn’t—”
Meilin raised her rifle and shot three times in quick succession. “Three more down. Now we need to find out how many we missed.”
A no-nonsense babe. Excellent.
The tall blonde jumped to the ground. “Pull up the truck so we can dump the bodies. Wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise for any latecomers.” She flashed a sardonic smile and headed for the nearest carcass.
One sister disappeared into the brush. An engine roared, and a delivery truck backed into the site, halted, and the doors flew open.
Once they’d loaded the last of the zombie bodies, Will blew out a breath. The tall blonde latched the door closed. How did they all still appear ready freshly showered and ready for a night of dancing? They had this routine down, to the last detail.
“What now?” he asked.
The tall blonde poked a finger into his chest. “Now you forget everything you saw here, and we won’t have to incinerate you with the rest of them.”
Forget? He glanced at Meilin. Not happening. “You might find me useful. And I want to learn more about your operation. It’s impressive. Mr. King’s looking to hire—”
The blonde grabbed his shirt, her grimace eye level with him. “Don’t ever mention him again.”
Not speak of their father? He studied Meilin for a clue.
She wrenched the blonde’s arm. “Back off, Zoe. He’s harmless.”
Zoe shoved Meilin, who stumbled backward and lost her balance.
Landing on her butt, she looked up at Will with sadness. “Sorry.”
His heart lurched. Hopefully, not sorry she met him. “For what?”
A hard thud to the back of his head came in answer. His knees hit the dance floor, and he toppled over

Release Day for A Matchless Romance by Christi Barth #romance #newrelease

Blurb:Tabitha Bell is the face of Chicago’s premiere matchmaking service. At least, she hopes it will be someday, once business really takes off. What she needs is more clients, so when she meets a sexy gamer in need of help, it’s the perfect opportunity.
His discomfort talking to women almost cost Drew Watson his job. He’d be happy holed up in his office, designing blockbuster video games, but his boss considers talking to investors a nonnegotiable requirement. Who better than a matchmaker to teach him how to be comfortable around the opposite sex? Trouble is, Drew wants to get more than comfortable with Tabitha, while she’s determined to keep their relationship all business.
Soon Tabitha learns that beneath the geek-chic hoodie lies six feet of sexy physique—and the more time she spends with Drew, the more she appreciates his brainy brand of charm. Will she succumb to his sweet-but-nerdy charm offensive or will it be game over before he can win her heart?
Excerpt:He padded across the beige carpet in bare feet. Amazing how intimately naked a man could look in a polo shirt, jeans, and bare feet. Drew knelt by the side of the divan. Took her hand in his and dropped a soft kiss dead center between her wrist and oval opal ring on her middle finger.“I’d rather tell you that you’re beautiful. Every time I look at you, it’s like a sucker punch straight to my dick. But I’ll also admit that your mind’s as stacked as your body. So yeah, you’re brilliant.”Tabitha gaped. She knew it because she felt the air cut across her tongue as she dragged in a surprised breath. Sure, they’d kissed. And she’d gotten no sleep for two nights replaying the kiss. Trying to figure out what it meant and what to do next. But she hadn’t expected Drew to so boldly move things forward. Not the man who believed so strongly—and so wrongly—that he was invisible to women. Unless….he didn’t mean it. Unless the straight-A student wanted to be sure he took home a gold star for the night. She tossed her hair back and sat up a little straighter.“That’s quite a compliment. But much like earlier, wholly unnecessary. I saw how well you loosened up. How well you interacted with Ashley and Tara and Kate. You don’t have to prove anything to me.”“Don’t I?” He rubbed a finger lightly across her palm. That barest of touches sent erotic lightning bolts through her body. “I think I do. First, I had to prove that I could handle your friends. Now, I’d like to prove how well I can handle you.”Part of Tabitha wanted to strip off her clothes right then and there. Offer herself up to him on a silver platter. But the other part of her still couldn’t quite believe the transformation. Didn’t trust the validity of this new, alpha version of Drew. Even though it was the man she’d seen inside him all along. “I thought you were only this sure of yourself on a track or behind a computer,” she tried to joke. Instead, it came out squeaky and breathy. Because he was still doing that stroking thing on her hand and it made Tabitha want to simply writhe.“That’s all you’ve seen. Doesn’t mean that’s all there is. I’m sure of myself, most comfortable doing things I’m good at. And let me assure you, Tabitha, I excel at sex.”His oddly blunt delivery might turn off other women. But for Tabitha, his cocky honesty was one heck of a turn-on. Just like every single little thing she discovered about Drew. “Prove it,” she said recklessly.Next thing she knew, Drew was draped half on top of her. One hand cradled her scalp. The other pulled at her back, lifting her off the round cushion and into his body. And his mouth—well, it took hers. No sweet, gentle exploration. His tongue ravaged hers, delving into every nook and cranny with long, sweeping licks that brought every inch of her body to a state of need and want within moments.

Check out Haley Whitehall's newest release #valentine #romance

Time Traveling to find Mr. Right
I’ve often felt like I was born in the wrong generation. Ever since I first learned about the Civil War in school I had a strong connection to that era. Do you believe in past lives? Some people have read my writing and suggested I had a past life during the Civil War. All I know is I wish I had a time machine so I could go into the past and find my Mr. Right.
I guess that is what inspired me to write “Civil War Valentine.” The heroine Charlie Bristol, a museum curator, is the closest to being me than all the previous characters I have written. Writing her story filled a need for me to give myself a happy ending. Okay. Whew that was kind of deep, wasn’t it?
Valentine’s Day celebrates love, and maybe due to all the sappy Hallmark movies and TV shows it also seems magical to me. Valentine’s Day magic is evident in not only “Civil War Valentine” but in all the novellas in Love, Valentine Style.
If you had a time travel machine where in the past would you go to find Mr. Right? For recently divorced Charlie Bristol she didn’t have choice, but she was pleased with her destination.
Blurb Love, Valentine Style (Civil War Valentine by Haley Whitehall)
Recently divorced museum curator Charlie Bristol comes to Seattle to set up a display at the Fine Art museum chronicling the history of Valentine’s Day. The director of the museum surprises her with a package of Civil War valentines from an anonymous donor. She reads the heartfelt messages and is touched by his words. Does such powerful love still exist?

During a nap she dreams she’s alive during the Civil War and meets Elliot Lowery, the author of the valentines who mistakes her for his fiancée Charlotte. She and Elliot negotiate the murky waters of wartime romance. When she wakes she’s still under the dream's spell and Valentine’s Day love is in the air, but Charlotte has no reason to celebrate. The man she loves died 150 years ago. Unless love works some miracle even time and death cannot overcome.
Excerpt:
The stew made her mouth water. This was classic country cooking, nothing like she was used to having in New York City.
There was a knock at the door. Her chest constricted. Who could that be? Another knock. She found herself drawn to the door and slowly opened it as if the stranger might bite her.
A young man with thick black hair and a sexy five o’clock shadow stood there, a single red rose in his hand. He straightened, bringing his boot clad feet together. She worked her gaze up from his feet all the way up his long legs to his broad shoulders and dreamy blue-gray eyes. He was dressed in a Union uniform, the blue wool coat unbuttoned to reveal his white shirt underneath.
My imagination sure knows how to construct a good looking soldier!
The man smiled, showing a row of straight teeth. “Miss Adams,” he said in a deep voice. When she raised her eyebrow at the use of her maiden name, he frowned slightly. “I know I’ve been gone for several months, but I didn’t expect you to forget me.”

Welcome to Tara Quinn! Tara and I are taking over each other's blogs today since we both have new releases. Get to know Tara and her books a little better here today, and then I hope you'll stop by Tara's blog because she asked me some very interesting questions on the interview on her blog! Tara's Blog
Welcome, Tara! Please tell us a little about yourself.
Hi Joya and thanks for having me over! I would describe myself as a newbie romance author. My very first novella was published about a year ago, and since then I’ve written three other novellas (all romance, but each falling into a different subgenre—sci-fi/post apocalyptic, fantasy, suspense, and contemporary). My contemporary romance, Delicious Delay, was released by Decadent Publishing a little over two weeks ago. Wow...first of all HUGE congrats on your successful year! That's amazing. What inspires you to write? Reading other books. Whenever a new book by Nalini Singh or Kresley Cole comes out, I inhale it, and then I go back and reread their older books. This usually results in a “I wish I could write like that one day” moment, after which I flip open my laptop and start practicing. That's a great inspiration. Readers make the best writers, right? What would be a *perfect* day for you? Okay, this is really boring, but here goes:08:30 – Wake up to the smell of cooked breakfast and hot tea (courtesy of husband).09:00 – Take care of all the early morning essentials. 09:30 – Take a pot of hot tea to the balcony and start writing.12:00 – Go to the Gym for a Les Mills exercise class of some kind13:00 – Replenish the calories I just burned.14:30 – After a shower and change of clothes, continue writing (interspersed with online “breaks”).17:00 – Call it quits for the day, settle on the couch, and fire up the Xbox.18:30 – Dinner (with cheesecake for desert)20:00 – Change into PJs and watch TV until it’s time to sleep. But how does one say no to such a deliciously, relentless pursuit?Khalid Al Dehri takes one look at the red-headed spitfire in the business class lounge and knew he’d either been transported to heaven—or hell. Her tart response to his surliness intrigues him beyond all propriety and the longer he spends in her company, the more he can’t deny his forbidden attraction. But will she explore the sensuality between them or will society’s rules keep them apart?Excerpt: He grinned. “So I have a proposal.” She tried to get her breathing under control, without much success. “Why am I sure it’s an indecent one?”He motioned his head toward the far end of the lounge. Latticed wooden screens gave that particular section more privacy. In an L-shaped room, the tucked-away location prevented a direct line of sight from the dining or reception areas. He got up and offered her his hand. She hesitated for a long moment before taking it. With faltering footsteps, she followed him. More private or not, limits on how far this could go existed due to them being in an airport lounge. Since her self-control had chosen today to take a vacation, she appreciated the imposed constraint. He lowered himself onto a plush leather sofa deep inside the cordoned area. With walls on either side and screens strategically angled, the space seemed to have been designed as a spot for people to nap.On the brink of crossing a dangerous line, she hesitated. “What exactly do you have in mind?”“I’m just giving you the opportunity to have your way with me,” he offered, his face the picture of innocence. She hadn’t expected that answer. “I don’t quite follow.”He kicked one of his legs out and tangled it with hers. She stumbled and instinctively moved her hands forward to brace herself. Her palms flattened over his hard muscled chest when she landed. She traced the shape of his pectorals. “What do you do all day? Work out?”He chuckled, the low rumble all male. “I have access to the best personal trainers money can buy. They help keep me honest.”She shook her head in disbelief as the man preened. “Have you heard of a concept called humility?” “It’s not one of my virtues,” he admitted. “I’ve never understood the point.”She sighed. “It’s the polite thing to do.”He placed his forefinger under her chin and tipped her head up, his expression playful. “So what is a sweet, polite, goody two shoes doing on top of me?”

When they discover the secret behind Project Terminal, will they survive long enough to help stop the unleashed horror? Or will they just be two more victims of a virus threatening all of humanity?
Excerpt: "Four more hours. We have to prepare."Laura went cold. "Prepare?"
"The progression will snowball from here." His voice dead, he continued to stare at some unseen view.
He'd kissed her with such passion, now he spoke without emotion. How could someone do such a turnabout? The lousy bastard. Rage, white hot in intensity, shot through her, her head swimming with it.
"Maybe you're just stupid, Damian. Stupid for allowing a zombie thing to attack me. I wouldn't be dying if it wasn't for you. You deserve this, not me." Her fists balled at the injustice of it all. "You should die for this."
She sucked in wheezing breaths, unable to fill her lungs, and fell back on her butt. Her eyes widened, searching a darkened corner of the room, a distorted face appearing from the shadows. It grinned with broken, yellowed teeth, its eyes glowing in the dimness.
She gagged over raw terror.
"Oh my God, I saw something over there." She scrambled backward. "Damian, one of those things is in here."
* * * *
Damian glanced around the sparsely furnished room. Other than a few flies and mosquitoes buzzing around them they were alone.
He closed his eyes, the weight of guilt pressing down making it difficult to speak. "We're alone, Laura. Nobody else is in here."
The night wore on, and fits of anger mingled with her confusion. Several times he'd had to prevent her from dashing out the door. He paced the confines of the living room, waiting for the last of the madness to run its course. Laura lay on the floor, lashing out toward some unseen attacker, before her breathing became rapid, labored pants. White foam bubbled from her mouth.
He pinched the bridge of his nose, turning away. He'd become disillusioned with the system he'd given his life to shortly after discovering they'd screwed up royally in creating the virus. In a lab he'd watched a man succumb to it, changing into a soulless corpse. It'd been horrific the first time he'd witnessed it. Afterward Headquarters had assigned him to track down an infected woman outside of the facility. It was his duty as a super soldier to clean up their mistakes. Now he wanted nothing more than to see the lab destroyed, something he should've done in the first place. He should've listened to Doug and Max, two of the doctors from the early days of the project. Their warnings had come to pass, but he'd been a stubborn, misinformed jackass.
Curled in the fetal position, Laura looked like a sick child, fragile and broken. His throat constricted, even though it was ridiculous to have feelings for someone you didn't know. He was military, Army Infantry, for Christ's sake, he knew how to pull a trigger without regret.
Laura rolled onto her back, staring toward the ceiling with glassy eyes. Despite the tremulous hold she had on life, she was already dead.
He existed as a government killing machine—an automaton they'd designed. Nothing more. He'd given his humanity away to the project. He wasn't much better than the corpses he hunted.
"I'm so sorry this happened to you, baby. You were right, I deserved this, not you."
His vision blurred when he stared down the barrel, the silencer aimed squarely between her eyes, his heart beating a crazed rhythm in his chest. His finger squeezed ever so slightly on the trigger. Outside a mourning dove called to its mate, a haunting song echoing in the room. He recalled a story from his youth about how a dove would arrive to carry a person's soul to the afterlife. If he believed in anything but the here and now, in that moment he would've thought it true.
Laura's mouth gaped open, strangled noises escaping her throat, seizures taking her into death throes.
He lowered his arm and thumped the butt of his gun against his thigh, waiting for the monster to appear. When she became the undead, when she moved to attack him, he'd have the power to destroy her. She deserved one last try to get the best of him. Maybe it wasn't Laura anymore, but he'd honor the fighting spirit within her. She'd never get past him, but if she took a piece of him in the process he'd have an excuse to end the whole goddamned thing here, in this stinking house. If he ever got infected his duty would be to put a bullet in his own head.
Laura's body stilled, her eyelids drifting closed.
Any moment…
Her eyes popped wide open, her back arching. She sucked in a breath as if surfacing from deep waters. He turned his body sideways, leveling his gun in dead aim, waiting for the corpse to lunge.
"Damian?"
