QUESTION: So how do you brainstorm the whole story? Do you think of it as you go or do you brainstorm? I have a story and a great idea but don’t have a major climax…or a conflict yet…how do you brainstorm?? haha

ANSWER: My process has been different with with each book I have written. I outlined The Unintended. I wrote The Nexus and The Sacrifice back-to-back and started with what I call “tent pole scenes.” What I mean by that is I wrote key scenes in the novel and would fill in the gaps. Wh...
