Thank you for asking. I chose to have a character with a disability because I've grown up with a disability (not albinism, but Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis). Many of my characters in other stories struggle with some type of either physical or mental and even emotional issues. I'm sorry you dislike the term albino. I'm not aware of it being offensive and I would never wish to cause offense. The research I did led me to discovering several forms of albinism. I was concerned that with sunlight sensitivity, Allen Williamson's character might not be a candidate for the military, but there are many forms/levels of severity and his falls into the category of OCA1b where he produces some melanin which increases with age. As for his code name of Ghost, it is partly a reference to his light skin, yes. Something that comes up when he's introduced to other soldiers. It's also a reference to his ability to get in and get out of tight situations unseen. The world is a rough place where you find both the good and the bad. I write characters with flaws, some are redeemed while others still have much to learn; and I write about real people experiencing real situations. I dealt with bullying growing up because there are some people who can't see beyond the outside and others who are simply miserable and want you to join them in their misery. Some of the names I've been called by both family and people I didn't know were cringe-worthy, but I learned how to deal with those things and they made me a stronger person. My characters reflect many of my own experiences, just in different forms. Allen Williamson is a smart, well-liked, and upstanding character. He is not the butt of any jokes from the surrounding characters nor a prop. I am currently writing his story because the readers demanded it. They love him too. I can tell by your question that the sample touched a nerve for you. I'd like to assure you that in no way would I ever make fun of a person because of their disability, and that when I introduce a character who has either a disability or a condition, it is with respect, and treated in a way to address what someone with either the condition/disability goes through with the hope it brings a sense of understanding to the reader. Wishing you a wonderful day and please feel free to check out his book when it arrives in spring, and always feel free to drop by here and ask me any questions. I appreciate it.(less)

It can also be simply switching off to one of the other lesser characters already introduced. You might not keep everything that you write from that trick, but it will definitely get your mind working and help develop new thought pathways.(less)

A Grave Discovery by SECTION 5

A gurgling sound startled them both. Otis jumped, clutching at his chest, and Niall stopped speaking, his face going pale. Both looked down. The body in the coffin shook, spasming in a coughing fit."Jesus Christ!" Otis's eyes widened. His heart lurched, pounding hard."Dear God, she's alive?" Alchurch stuttered. His hand dropped to his side; his call forgotten.Read SECTION 5 from Michele E. Gwynn n

“I once had a substitute teacher in my 4th grade class that was wonderful. He said learning was like throwing mud on a wall. Some will stick, and some will fall off. But if you keep throwing the mud on the wall, eventually the whole wall will be covered in mud. I think writing is very much the same. You have to keep at it. Some will stick, and some will fall away, but you keep writing, and eventually, you've impacted thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of people with your vision.”
Michele Gwynn, Exposed: The Education of Sarah Brown

“How could I not?” The question was spoken softly, but what he said next shocked her. “I’ll always come for you, Emma.”
Michele E. Gwynn, Rescuing Emma

“A sharp knifepoint shot through the opening. Nate fell back, catching himself.”

Michele Gwynn No stories anywhere make me do the 'ugly' cry like Nicholas Sparks's stories. The one that caught me unaware at the end was The Best of Me. I won't spoil it for you if you haven't seen it, but oh, my God! Have some tissue in hand. You'll need it.

Michele Gwynn Hello, sexy people! My book, Exposed: The Education of Sarah Brown is entered into a cover war contest, and I need voters. If you've read it, put it on your wishlist, or are just now looking at it and thinking "hmmn", then pop on over and help an erotic suspense author out. Your help is so appreciated! Hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Michele Gwynn I'm commenting on my own page because I simply wanted to congratulate my two winners on the Goodreads Giveaway of Exposed. Jessica and Mike...congrats! You'll be receiving your copies in the mail, and note, these are the first-run, self-published paperbacks. I've just now unpublished my book so it can be republished under the publishing house of Beau Coup LLC. New launch date to be announced, so stay tuned and look for your copies in the mail! If I make it big, they'll be collectors items....Thanks for participating.

Michele Gwynn Nothing is better than connecting with other authors and fans. The result of one such recent interaction was an interesting short story I recently penned. It all began with an online contest asking participants to write, in three lines or less, their best idea for a great sci-fi story. The winner received a copy of my book, Harvest, and credit with links to their own website in the story I wrote around their winning entry. Thanks to Brea Behn and a rather weird dream, Synthesis was born. http://michelegwynn.blogspot.com/2014...
