T.M. Smith Spotlight: Top Ten books that have bee adapted for the big screen!
Author TM Smith, top 10 favorite books that have been adapted for the big screen.
1. Lord Of The Rings
2. Game of Thrones
3. Dune
4. Twilight Saga
5. The Host
6. The Fault in Our Stars
7. The Help
8. The Watchmen (graphic novels count, right?!)
9. The Hunger Games
10. Enders Game
No, Harry Potter is not on this list. I loved the books, and I loved the movies. But book to movie, NO, just no! More characters were cut than were included, important storylines as well. So, I had to make an effort to separate the two, but I did. And I really do like them both, but not as an adaption of one to the other.

TM Smith
Book 1 – The Opposites
In the year 2081 our planet survived global warming of an apocalyptic scale. When the dust settled and the water receded Dr. Anthony Smith, one of only a few hundred survivors of GWI, started society anew. Having come to the conclusion that injudicious breeding played a huge role in the destruction of Earth as we knew it in the twenty first century, he worked closely with other survivors to isolate the Dionysus gene. This gene has the ability to manipulate human DNA to ensure that all male children be born gay, and all female children be born lesbians. A new society is born.
In the year 2300 Dr. Smith’s descendants are ushering in the twenty fourth century having maintained control of the government that still rules society. Twins Aiya and Aiyan are preparing to meet their matches and take control of House Gaeland, the current ruling House. But not everything is as it seems.
Love is Love.. it knows no gender and doesn’t conform to restrictions and boundaries. Aiyan has found his soul mate in Kaden, the prince of House Devi that he is matched with and eventually marries. But when the person Aiya falls in love with tests the boundaries put in place after GWI, all hell breaks loose. And in the midst of one secret unraveling, another will emerge. There is a growing anomaly that threatens to destroy over two hundred years of progression. This anomaly is known as Opposites.
*WARNING* Opposites is a majorly M/M New Adult novel that contains explicit sexual content and relationships between gay, lesbian and straight couples
Book 2 (Novella) – The Library
The Library, an Opposites Novella, by TM Smith
Three gay couples run amuck in this short story where clothing, beds, even four walls are all optional!
Want to know what happened that night in the library?
Cirian and Rian had a fight in the library and Rian ends up naked on the desk, on his back, at Cirian’s mercy.
Want to know how far things went with ice cream?
A romantic evening by the fire feeding his husband ice cream leads to a lot more than heavy petting for Aiyan and Kaden.
Want to know what was going on when those birds fled?
Travelling hundreds of miles, battling the rebels and then travelling back to House Gaeland will take it out of you. But when Tanis wants something, he takes it. Raven is about to be bent over a tree!
A Note from the Author:
I’ve taken three scenes from Opposites that were cut short and elaborated on the shenanigans that ensued. I also focused more in the beginning on the relationship between Cirian and Rian, to give readers a chance to know them and their inner workings better.
**Warning, The Library is a novella set in the same world as Opposites. It’s an adult dystopian M/M novella that includes consenting and explicit sexual relationships between gay couples**

Excerpts for Opposites {warning, Opposites is an Adult Dystopian majorly M/M series, this sneak peak may contain content not suitable for those under the age of 18, viewer discretion is advised}
Meanwhile in the forest, Aiyan stood in the shadow of the tree. His bow was cocked and ready as the deer trotted into view close to the stream. Kaden stood to his left directly behind the tree, watching the intensity in his features as he stalked his prey. His jaw was set and his brown eyes sparkled, the muscles in his arm were tensed and solid as he held his bow in place, taking aim at the deer. His mouth was just slightly upturned on one side forming that devilish, crooked grin Kaden had come to love more than anything.
Kaden thought back to the first time they kissed and that first night alone with Aiyan in his room, his body held firmly between Aiyan’s and the wall as he ran his hands down Kaden’s body and nipped at his ear. Instinctively he reached out and ran his thumb along Aiyan’s jaw line just as he released the arrow. The sound of metal hitting flesh as the arrow penetrated the deer’s soft skin could just be heard, and then the unmistakable thud as the now lifeless animal hit the ground.
Aiyan stepped to the side and pinned Kaden against the tree, cupping his crotch in his hand tightly and crashing their mouths together. Again, instinctively, Kaden moved into his touch and his lips, moaning softly. Aiyan smiled into the kiss and whispered, “Kaden, love, you’re killing me.”
Kaden pulled back and laughed. “Me?!” I think you need to look again my prince, I’m the one pinned to this tree while you….” he moaned again and
closed his eyes, leaning back into the tree as Aiyan squeezed gently. He leaned in and kissed his neck then sucked at the sensitive flesh there.
“Soon, M’anam. The Mehndi ceremony is tomorrow, and then the wedding, and then…” He let the sentence linger in the air as he ran his nose across Kaden’s cheek, bringing their lips together for another kiss. They settled into a more appropriate, affectionate stance just before Rian cleared his throat from behind them. Kaden flushed slightly and Aiyan turned to see his father smiling at them. He jerked his head back toward the palace motioning for them to follow, and they did, reluctantly.
Music is a huge part of my writing process, and there are songs that take me where I need to be to write… and then there are songs specific to certain characters or chapters in the book. Early on there is a scene when Maeve, Tanis and Kaden are en route to the palace and Maeve is taking in her surroundings.
Every time I hear Celtic Dream I think about this particular chapter. Very whimsical, fresh and new. Both Aiyan and Raven play the violin, and Aiya plays the piano, so there is a lot of instrumental music I listen to when I’m writing around them. Rain on the Pond is a song that is mentioned twice in the book,
Lament has its own chapter, and Sirtaki is the dance they do at Aiya and Maeve’s wedding. Every song on this playlist is directly related to something in the book, in some fashion.

Coming Soon: Steam excerpt!
Coming in exactly one week, Steam is the first book in a brand new series by Lynn Tyler.
Sunny tried looking through the peephole, but for some reason, it had completely clouded over. She made a mental note to speak to the motel management about fixing it as she slid the chain lock into place and opened the door wide enough to look outside.
Two men stood there, staring back at her. They were both blond, but that’s where the resemblance ended. The guy on the right was of average height but had an absolutely fabulous body. His white dress shirt clung to him like a second skin and his gray slacks molded to his thighs perfectly. He had a friendly smile and pretty blue eyes.
The man next to him scared the bejeezus out of her. He was huge. Mountain like, even. His white blond hair was tied back in a ponytail that hung nearly to his waist and his shoulders were nearly as wide as the doorframe. But his eyes frightened her the most. They were gunmetal gray and seemed bottomless. She had a fleeting thought that if she stared at his eyes long enough, she would get lost in them. And not in the good, romantic kind of way, either.
Faced with such an intimidation, Sunny did the same thing she always did when she felt backed into a corner. She got lippy. “What do you want?” The words sounded rather flippant, even to her.
The words sounded rather flippant, even to her.
The shorter man smiled again and shuffled over so he was directly in her view. “Hi. My name is Matthew Samuels and this is Leith MacAlister. Can we come in and speak with you for a few minutes?”
The soft, Australian accent probably had the girls falling at the guy’s feet. Not her though. As attractive as this Matthew was, Sunny had always been drawn to the more tall, dark and handsome type. “No, I’m fine. Good-bye.”
Her attempt to close the door was thwarted when the big guy slapped his hand against it and used brute strength to keep it open. “Actually, that it is not a request, Ms. Kerrigan.” Somehow, it didn’t surprise her that they knew her name.
Leith tried to force the door open. Luckily, the chain held but the doorframe creaked under the pressure. “We have information you might find helpful, Ms. Kerrigan. About what’s happening to you. And about your parents.”
The mention of her parents gave her a second’s pause. Her parents had been killed when she was a baby. She’d read the police report on her eighteenth birthday. The lead detective had stated he suspected her parents had been victims of a drive by shooting. But the medical examiner hadn’t found an exit wound or bullets on either of her parents.
Despite her desire to know more about her parents, she wasn’t stupid. She realized she only had a few seconds to act when she saw Leith’s fingers wrap around the edge of the door and head up toward the chain. She gave the door a mighty push, slamming it against the questing fingers.
The fingers were immediately pulled away and the door shut with a satisfying click. She flipped the deadlock into place and smiled grimly when she heard the big man swearing through the wood. “Fuck, lass. Are ye tryin’ to break me fingers?”
Ooh. This one had a Scottish accent. And apparently Leith’s accent got thicker when
he was in pain.
“The two of you need to get lost before I call the police,” she called through the door. “Och, we don’t have time for this,” Leith shouted.
Seconds later, the blond giant materialized in front of her.
Shrieking, Sunny stumbled back until she was flat against the wall. Why did she have to leave her phone all the way on the other side of the room?
Muttering under his breath, Leith flipped the deadlock off and slid the chain off, letting Matthew into the room. The shorter man closed the door quickly and took a quick step toward her, holding his hands up as if to show her he wasn’t going to hurt her. “Relax, Sunny. We’re here to tell you about what’s happening, that’s all. If you’re parents had lived, you would have already known all about this. In fact, you would have been transported to the MacAlister castle at the first sign of your magic.”
Were these people insane? “Magic? Magic? Don’t come any closer,” she warned when Leith took a few steps toward her.
Matthew reached out and made a beckoning motion to her. “We’re not joking,” he said. “We’ll tell you everything you need to know once we’re on the plane. But we should really get moving. It’s not safe to stay here, especially now.”

Michael’s Heart Sneak Peek!
In exactly one week, Michael’s Heart, Pack Mates #4 will be released. And I’d like to give you all a little sneak peek! So, without further ado, here it is!
He glanced at Michael’s face to find the beautiful, playful smile had melted from his face, leaving him with a slightly confused expression. “Gray?” he asked quietly.
Gray ignored Michael’s question. “Girls,” he said instead. “I think it’s time for you to get ready for bed. Why don’t you go up to your bedroom and change? I’ll be up to help you brush your teeth and read your stories in a few minutes.”
The girls immediately hopped down from Michael’s arms and scampered up the stairs, hollering for Shannon to kiss them goodnight.
“Well,” Gray said, wandering toward the couch and plopping down with the baby. “Now that the heathens are gone, we can chat. Have you guys met?”
“Not formally,” Justin answered, delighted to finally meet the man he’d been picturing in his fantasies for the past few months. Maybe he would even get to touch him.
“Justin, this is my best friend Michael Ferris. We’ve known each other since we were born.” Gray gestured for Michael to come over.
Justin didn’t miss the incredulous look Michael threw his friend, nor did he miss the slightly evil expression Gray gave in return. Something was obviously going on between the two friends but Justin had no idea as to what it could be.
“Mikey, this is Justin Blake. He started off as our lawyer and ended up as our friend.”
The firefighter blushed charmingly at the nickname but shuffled over on his knees, reaching out his hand as he came. “Nice to meet you,” he murmured.
Justin had always heard of those people who said their first time meeting their mate was electric, but he’d always brushed it off. He sent a silent apology to all those people he’d quietly laughed at when his palm met Michael’s and a tingle shot up his arm.
He held on to Michael’s hand a little longer than he had to, his cock hardening from the texture of Michael’s skin against his. What would those callused hands feel like skimming across his body?
Gray cleared his throat and Justin jerked his hand away. He glanced up at his friend, who was still holding Faith and swaying slightly from side to side as the baby began to nuzzle sleepily into his shoulder. Gray seemed absolutely delighted with something.
“Mikey,” Gray said as he rubbed his cheek against Faith’s hair, “why don’t you have a seat on the couch.”
“Right,” Michael said. He rose to his feet. Justin admired the fluidness of his movements. For such a big man, Michael was surprisingly graceful. “So, um … are you here to offer Gray and Shannon some legal advice or something?”
Before Justin could answer, Gray started speaking. “Oh. Did I forget to tell you that Justin was coming for dinner, too?”
Gray looked at them with a slightly bemused, innocent expression. Just like before, Justin didn’t miss the glare Michael threw at his best friend. What was going on?
“Uncle Gray,” came a shriek from upstairs. “We’re ready.”
“Ah,” Gray said with a grin. “I’m being summoned for teeth and story time. I’ll be back in a few.”
Gray left, and Justin could hear the soft murmur of two deep voices before a rhythmic pounding start sounding from the general direction of what he knew was the bedrooms. “What’s going on?” Justin wondered out loud.
“They’re probably jumping on the bed,” Michael answered.
An awkward silence settled between them. What was he supposed to say?
Luckily, Shannon chose that moment to saunter in with drinks. “Mike, here’s your cola. And one Molson Canadian for Justin.” He passed the drinks around with a grin. “Dinner will only be a few more minutes. Hold tight.”
“Do you need any help?” Justin asked. Say no, say no. He wanted to make the most of the rare opportunity to sit next to Michael and drink in his presence.
Shannon shook his head. “I’m almost finished. By the time Gray’s finished putting the kids to bed, we’ll be ready to eat.”
“Okay,” Justin said before taking swallow of his beer. Ah, liquid gold. “Oh, good stuff,” he commented.
Michael made a noise and watched him with his head tilted to one side. “You know, I’m surprised you’re drinking beer. Especially Molson.”
The random statement startled a laugh out of Justin. “Why?” he asked.
The wolf shrugged and smiled sheepishly. “It’s only that you seem so … refined, I guess … I would have figured you to be a sherry drinker, or at least a wine drinker. I kind of thought if you were to drink beer, it would be one of those designer ones.”
Justin didn’t know what to say. Actually, he didn’t know if he should be complimented or not.
“Oh,” Michael said, obviously noticing the bemused expression on his face. “That’s not a bad thing. Actually, it’s fucking hot.”
Michael’s eyes widened and Justin could practically see the wolf’s urge to slap his hand over his mouth. If Justin had thought the wolf blushed prettily before, he’d been mistaken. The flush that crept up Michael’s neck and cheeks was utterly adorable. He wondered how easily Michael blushed.
Totally, completely charmed, Justin sucked up his courage. “So, I was wondering if you wanted to go out for coffee with me some time?”
The expression on Michael’s face was priceless. Had it really been such a long time since someone had asked this gorgeous man out?
The firefighter opened and closed his mouth a few times, and Justin was starting to worry Michael was trying to find a graceful way to turn him down. Finally, Michael cleared his throat and smiled beautifully. “I would love to go out with you,” he said softly.
Joy like he’d never experienced spread at a rapid race through Justin’s veins and he had to stop himself from jumping up and down like a little boy.
Gray poked his head in to the room. “Dinner’s ready,” he announced.
