Suit Up Sunday ~ Matthew Morrison

I have a weakness for a man in a suit. I do. When Poppy Dennison mentioned she was doing Suit Up Sunday, I had to jump on the band wagon. I mean, why not? Guys in suits, looking dapper, clean... Hell, I even like dirty guys in suits.

But I have a weakness for Matthew Morrison. I don't watch Glee. Not really sure why, but I don't. As soon as I see Matthew on the red carpet, I pounce. So sexy and debonair.

Who is your poison in a suit? I'd love to know. And if you want to see more yumminess in suits, follow the link to Poppy Dennison's post. You won't regret it.

Virginia Nelson's In the House Today!

I'm gonna let Virginia just run on this one. Why not? Take it away, Virg!

Megan, thanks so much for having me on the blog for more blog hop blitzing! Sorry I'm late…got stuck in traffic…

Did you ever think about how getting sexy was sort of like a game? One none of us ever really wins? I mean, we spritz on flowery smells to attract men who love beer and bacon…Shouldn't we spray on meat scented or malt smelling stuff? They would flock in droves. Or Super Bowl scented or NASCAR perfume? Eau de motor oil…Can you imagine all the boys that would come running?

It is like chess…every move has to be plotted out in advance. But some of us are socially…inept. Some of us actually will admit we are socially horrible. I am one of those people so I really feel for the main character of Lips of Velvet, my March 17th release from Rebel Ink Press. Sandra is a bookworm, admitting to fixing her crooked desk with a stack of books at one point. Although she is great at moving words to make them do what she wants, people are a mystery to her.

When confronted with the sexy, smart and confident Lucy, she is instantly attracted to Lucy's self assuredness. Lucy is one of those women who ooze ease. She is graceful, comfortable in her own skin and not worried about what anyone thinks of her. Everything, really, that Sandra wishes she was.

Not to say that Sandra is without appeal. Sandra is smart from all those books. She is funny. She is beautiful but she doesn't see that about herself. But Sandra isn't a plotter.

When these two end up on opposite sides of the chess board…sparks fly.

Here is the blurb:

Bookworm Sandra is dragged out for a night on the town by her sister. When she meets the sexy and exotic Lucy, she is instantly attracted to her. But will their spontaneous combustion burn out as quickly as it ignites or will it lead to a long term flame?

Lucy can't help but be drawn in by Sandra's intelligent and fun nature. But when Sandra suggests that she was just using Lucy for sex, Lucy is a strong enough woman to hide her broken heart and walk away. A chance meeting brings them back together. Will Lucy seek revenge for a moment of stupidity?

Virginia Nelson spends her days chasing three very active kids around. When she is not doing this, or plotting taking over the world, she likes to write, play in the mud, drive far too fast and scream at inanimate objects. She can often be found listening to music that is far too loud and typing her next fantastic tale of blood, sex and random acts of ineptitude. Romance, in Ms. Nelson's opinion, is not about riding off into the sunset on the back of a horse with the knight in shining armor— it is about riding the dragon. If the knight can keep up… well, that is love.

Opposites attract? Are you kidding?

For Ike Clanton, having competition means winning. Best at the guitar, biggest ride, highest hair, most tattoos. Until he meets Tallulah. She's nothing like he wants, but she's everything she needs -- he just has to figure it out.

Tallulah never wanted to join Glow. She's there as a favor, and not to Ike. An Earth elemental and a rock star shouldn't mix, should they?

Add overzealous greenery and a heaping helping of ego to this mix and shake wildly. Maybe being down to earth isn't such a bad thing after all.

"You wrote "Longing" for a girl you never met?" Her hands trembled. She hated being nervous almost as much as she hated fumbling with what she wanted to say. But it wasn't possible he'd written the song for her. Love at first sight wasn't possible. "Aren't you expecting something from her that no one can be?"
He dropped to his knees and took one of her hands in his. "Call me totally crazy, but yeah, I'm expecting a lot from a woman I barely know."
"Then why? If you don't know her? What if she's nothing like the woman you've conjured in your head? People are two-faced all the time."
"Because real is so much better than a fantasy." He spread his fingers across her thigh and gave it a slight squeeze. "Lulah, it took me a little bit to realize the girl from the concert was you. You have a little more hair, and you don't have nearly as much makeup, but your eyes gave you away. I just want to see you smile and look at me like I'm not an asshole, but a guy you want to be with. I'm sorry I acted like a jerk. It tends to happen when I feel blindsided and manage to do something really stupid."
Wow. She sank back in her seat. The guy who was only hours earlier a complete dick was actually the sexy guy with the guitar she remembered. His touch seared her skin. She shifted her thighs together. If she wasn't careful, just being turned on would send the plants into the room into hyper growth.
Ike's lips curled into a soft smile that made it to his eyes. God, she wanted him. Wanted to be the woman in his life and to truly believe she was the woman he'd written the song for.
Her chest heaved. Damn, he made it hard to breathe. "Ike?"
"That's my name, Lulah." He inched toward her. "I wanted a chance to show you I wasn't some sex-crazed rock star with a chip on my shoulder. That night was a blur, but I never forgot your smile or the glitter in your eyes and the way you felt so right in my arms. The words for "Longing" were and are the best way I could think of to tell you I wanted more." He rose up between her knees and cupped her jaw in both hands. "I didn't get the chance to taste you then. I'm not losing the chance now."
He swallowed her gasp as his lips feathered over hers. Tallulah fisted her hands at her sides. If she didn't touch him, then maybe the kiss wouldn't imprint itself on her brain. Too late. His touch trickled down along the column of her throat. Every nerve ending sizzled. She swiped her tongue over his bottom lip. Remnants of the sauce lingered and sweetened the kiss. She whimpered and pressed her hands against his chest. Solid muscle rippled under her touch. Goddess, this was the man she'd wanted, the man she begged for. Her counterpart. The energy of her element vibrated. He was hers.
