hey i am visiting mexico city soon and was wondering if you could recommend some good zine shops/galleries in town. thanks!~~
Hey that’s awesome! Mexico city isn’t really the best place to go hunting for zines, art books or galleries, but I can suggest you some that are not-that-bad.
La colonia Roma is the neighborhood in which you can find most of the “alt-but-fancy” stores. I think the best ones are Guru and Vértigo.
There’s also CBR in La Cineteca Nacional (a very cool cinema theater in Coyoacán), which doesn’t have a huge variety of publications but they do have all of mine ; - P
But yeah, honestly I think the best about Mexico City is food, just eat anywhere that strikes your fancy, it will probably be delicious and cheap (also you’ll be surprised that real mexican food doesn’t have much to do with what is known as mexican food elsewhere). Just be careful to NEVER drink tap water and also I suggest you don’t eat from street vendors, unless you come from another shithole city that has accustomed your stomach to eating shit.
Traditional crafts are also beautiful and super inspiring, so I suggest you check them out at el mercado de la Ciudadela. You can also look at amazing prehispanic stuff at el Museo Nacional de Antropologia. Im sure you will find more special pieces there than in la Roma.

Here’s a page of one of those stories, Look but don’t touch. Actually this one they really liked but I felt it was too intense and was out of place with the rest of the stories."
