Sunday is for Photos (x15) and other fun things

I don't know if I've shared this photo on here before, but today it feels really appropriate. This is the road heading into Monument Valley, which I took last summer while on a long road trip with my hubby. Something about the road heading off into those awesome peaks reminds me a lot of my life right now. Things are stretched out before me, some of them are taking shape, but a lot is still in the mist. Adjusting to being a real professor (not just a grad student professor), my writing, marketing, and all things book related, it's all there, I just need to travel the road and get to work. It's a little daunting at times. Okay, maybe a little more than daunting.... Anyone else ever feel like this?

Couple of other quick things: Colors Like Memories was put on sale for the next couple of days on Amazon, so it's $1.99 for a limited time. Great time to pick it up, because I know it won't be this cheap for a looong while! Also, if you do purchase, share a tweet that you did--it would be much appreciated :)

Colors Like Memories Blog Tour: Day 9

It's the weekend! I don't know why this makes me so ridiculously happy, but it does. It's the little things in life, right? And this has been one whirlwind of a week. CLM has been out for over a week, is now chillin' on Amazon, and my blog tour is going strong. Next week will be the last of my official tour, and I have LOADS planned. Other things that have happened this week? I was offered and accepted a job--like a real, adult job! I will be starting as a professor at the University of Montana, Missoula (I find it hilarious that spell-check constantly tells me I'm not spelling that right). Much excitement has been had about this :)

And today, I have some super fun to add to the mix: I'm talking about Why I Write on Michell's blog. Do go check it out, leave a comment, and show Michelle some love. Hi everyone! How is this fine Friday treating you all? Anyone have some fun plans for this weekend?

Last night I finally got to go see Hunger Games, now that I'm back state-side. Loved it! Maybe it's because it's been a while since I read the books so the details weren't quite so clear, not that it matters, but it was a a lot of fun!

Colors Like Memories Blog Tour: Day 7

Okay, show of hands (or comments) time: who here is addicted to Pinterest? Really, I can't be the only one! I love that site. Seriously. And I waste lots and lots of time there. So, in that vein, today on the lovely Lynda's blog, I'm talking about using Pinterest as a social media outlet. It is one of the fastest growing social media sites. Curious? Stop by and check it out, and don't forget to leave a comment!

To prove how much I enjoy Pinterest (you can find all my pin boards here), I'll admit that I totally made these bracelets last night:

Colors Like Memories Blog Tour: Day 6

It is a red-letter day everyone!!! (Okay, I am going to have to go google why they call it a red-letter day--anyone know??) Anyhow, my book is now on Amazon! For some reason this makes the whole "I'm an author" thing seem really, well, REAL. But, yes, you should go check it out there. Obviously, if you need CLM in a format other than kindle, you'll need to go to my publisher (Barnes & Nobel=slow), but if you have a kindle, you're in luck!!

The blog tour is making THREE stops today. Woot! So do go check them out, leave comments, and I'll give you a little hint: one of them is giving away an extra copy of CLM, above and beyond the $25 gift card I'm offering to commenters. So, you've got that going for you (bonus if you can name the film!).

Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a nice weekend, and enjoyed celebrating Mother's Day. I was happy to be home and able to see my mom and grandmother yesterday for some classic Houston feasting and reading magazines by my grandparent's pool :) How did you celebrate?

Sunday Photo for the Mom's

Today is Mother's Day, and because I'm home I don't have any fun trip shots to share (sad!!). But I did want to share a pic of my mom and me from this last winter. We're on a hike in the Sierra's in the middle of winter, having a very nice time. It's kind of a dorky shot of the two of us, but I wanted to do a little shout-out to my mom today :)

What are your mother's day plans? Do you do anything to celebrate? We're having a giant lunch later on of fried chicken and gravy, and sitting by the pool (there is something really strange about pairing bathing suites and greasy food!). I can't wait to work on my tan and read in the sun for a while!
