5 Items You Pack But Probably Shouldn’t
I used to pack a bunch of things when I traveled. Over the years, I've learned what is a must and what should stay home in order to get the most use out of it and allow me to carry-on my belongings and save baggage fees. Every time I travel, I get better and better at packing, especially when returning to places that I've been several times. Of course, I still make mistakes – like when I decided I didn't want to take a rain jacket to Orlando – but that's me being human. I'm willing...

5 Ways to Put Together Your Travel Beauty Bag
With summer here, your beauty bag should majorly feature SPF, beyond that you don’t need to bring everything in your beauty drawer “just in case”. In my experience, I’m even less concerned about putting on a full face of makeup when I’m traveling. I want to be low maintenance while still looking good. If you typically use the same few items at home, don’t take a bunch of extra items that will just take up room in your bag, because chances are that you won’t use them when on vacation either.

48 Hours of Fun on a Budget in Logan, Utah
In this blog series I show you how easy it is to budget travel anywhere and I also give you a quick overview of a new city each time in a brief 48-hour itinerary.
You may not have heard of Logan, Utah, because it’s not as popular as other cities or Utah just isn’t on your radar for vacation destinations, but it’s one to definitely consider. It has beautiful landscape and is full of things to do for everyone in the family. Whether you’re traveling as a couple, a group, a family or on your own,...

10 Must-Have Travel Items (That Aren’t Clothes or Toiletries)
Yes, clothes are important, but there are a few things I always have packed in my carry-on, because they are necessities that I’ve learned to take with me after years of travel. I’m still working on paring down my toiletries and sometimes the clothing I pack that hardly ever get worn, but these things are tried and true for me and I believe they could be just as useful for you as well. Here are 10 of my must-pack items:

Staying at the Kalispell Grand Hotel
Last month I took a road trip with my mom and pup to Montana. I was hosted at the Kalispell Grand Hotel and it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in quite some time. The hotel is just over 100 years old and smack dab in the middle of Downtown Kalispell on Main Street. You go out the front door and you're just steps away from awesome restaurants and shopping.
While many of the other buildings downtown have taken on new identities, the Kalispell Grand has remained a landma...

Eating & Drinking in Kalispell, Montana
Last week I took a road trip with my mom and dog from Portland to Montana. The Visitor Bureau had been trying to get me up there for some time and I was finally able to make the trip to check out the lovely town of Kalispell and the Flathead Valley. The area is beautiful, and we'll get to that, but I want to talk about one of my favorite subjects: food. If you've been reading my blog for a while (or follow me on Instagram), you know I love to try new foods everywhere I go. Well, let me tell y...

Budget Fun for the Whole Family in Heber Valley
When you travel as a family, it can be hard to find a destination that has something that everyone likes. If you have this issue, or are just looking for a cool new place to add to your travel list, then check out Heber Valley. It’s just 50 minutes from Salt Lake City and 15 minutes from Park City, so you can combine a city escape with an outdoor getaway if you can’t choose one over the other. The fact is, you can find family fun on a budget just a short drive from a major airport.

Weekend Getaway Light Packing Tips
Most travelers aren’t content never taking a vacation or even slaving away all year to wait for their annual trip. In fact, aside from the usual two weeks, it’s hard to make it through day-to-day without getting away a few other times throughout the year. We tend to take a few days here and there a couple times a year. You might not think you have the funds to do it, but if you step back and take a look at your travel style you can find ways you can cut corners, meaning you’ll need a smaller...
