Review: Flint Retractable Lint Roller

I don't know about you, but as a dog owner, I often have hair on just about everything I own, even if I can't see it on lighter clothing. This means even if I pack straight out of the dryer, I somehow still find dog hair on things in my travel bag.

Last year, I started taking a lint roller with me, but the problem is they are sticky and you either have to pull off that first layer of tape before you can use it or pack it with lint and hair all over it and put it in a bag. Think Product...

Let's Go Outside

Okay, so with winter seemingly never ending here in Portland. We're on snow day #6 off work and school, due to a foot of snow that won't leave and roads covered in 2-3 inches of ice. Today we're getting freezing rain and maybe even more snow, so we're all getting a little stir crazy and are trying to find out if there's something like a sun dance we can do to summon some rays. Even I'm starting to think that hiking when the weather is nicer sounds like a good plan, and I'm not really tha...

5 Ways to Stay Healthy While Traveling

Travel can really take a lot out of you. Between the dry airplane air, the change in climates, different foods and much more exposure to foreign germs, it's almost a miracle if you don't get sick, or at least run down. When I travel, I try hard to offset many of these things with healthier habits than I have at home (which I really should be doing then too).

Here are 5 ways I try to stay in shape, stay healthy, and get the most out of my travel experiences:

Christmastime at Disney (Part 2)

In my last post, I told you all about The Festival of Holidays at Disney's California Adventure. We spent quite a bit more time there than we did at Disneyland this trip and wasn't sorry a bit. I think the additions to the park have really made it more of a Disney experience. I remember when it first opened and after half a day, you'd already done everything...twice. Well, Disneyland doesn't skimp on the holiday magic either. You'll find decorations everywhere and fun twists on classic rides....

Christmastime at Disney (Part 1)

The week before Christmas, we took a short trip to Southern California to immerse ourselves in Disney and check out the new Wizarding World at Universal Studios. We really just wanted to indulge in some Disney magic, but we were surprised by the Festival of Holidays happening at the same time. We love the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot, and this was like a mini one of those at California Adventure. (And I learned that they have their own F&W Festival in April.)

5 Cheap Winter Destinations

Here in Oregon, Winter is definitely in full swing. We've had three snow/ice storms with more on the way. We were fortunate to miss one, as we were on our Disney trip (that I'll be writing about soon). That means we're kinda stuck here for the rest of the cold, snowy, icy, windy, crappy weather. If you're looking for a cheap way to get out of town, there are a handful of great, affordable options.

2017 Has Arrived

It seems like it wasn't that long ago that I was writing this blog post to welcome 2016. How has the year gone by so fast? I guess it flies when you're having fun, which much of 2016 was for us, despite it being a dumpster fire for a lot of peeps and, at times, for us. It ended on a high note, which is more than we can ever hope for.
happy new year
We got up to a lot this year and I thought I'd share some highlights, travel and fun at home:

I took a solo road trip to Vegas in March to go to the Travel Goods s...

Visiting the Warner Bros Studio

In my last post, I told you all about the Warner Bros Archive and the Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter exhibit. I loved it, and all my photos! That's not to say I didn't equally love the rest of the studio tour. I totally did, just in a different way, because I'm such a Potterhead, but I'm also a movie nerd and love to see the behind-the-scenes stuff.

Exploring the Warner Bros Archive

A little over a month ago, I was scrolling through Facebook when I saw a post about a new Fantastic Beasts exhibit. Now, as you know, I'm a huge Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts/magical world fan, so I needed to go see it. The exhibit was to be mixed with items from the Harry Potter movies as well and found at the Warner Bros Archive at Warner Bros Studios in Burbank, California. Lucky for me, I was already going to be in SoCal and arriving a few days after the exhibit opened.

Happy Holidays (from the Theme Park)

Happy Holidays everyone! Last week we went to Southern California and we hit up the theme parks. Our trip happened to coincide with Disney's California Adventure's Festival of Holidays, where they celebrated all the great December holidays, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali and Navidad. They had awesome food kiosks, where we grazed along, eating all the fun festival foods. On this holiday, I wanted to share with you some photos and videos I took while I was gone.
