Simple Pleasures-Mexican Jumping Beans!

You know how I LOVE the simply things in life?  Well, here's one I haven't been able tot enjoy for years…Mexican Jumping Beans!  I was telling Kevin's cousin Jan that if she got to go to Old Town while she was here, I wanted her to pick up some Mexican Jumping Beans for me!  Mexican Jumping Beans were something I always, always loved…especially as a kid!  They used to come in these little plastic boxes—maybe an inch by an inch square—with like clear tops and colored bottoms (usually...

Kissing Cousins Soundtrack!

At one of the Meet and Greets, a friend asked me if I would post a list of songs I reference in my books.  Another friend asked me for a list of music I listen to while writing certain books!  So, I thought it might be fun to start with the "Kissing Cousins" soundtrack!  I've listed the songs below.  If you click on a song it will take you to a youtube video of the song!  I THINK I remembered them all!  Let me know if I forgot one and I'll add it!  (Most of these are just the song (no real...

"Character Bios"-Favorite Quotes

As you've probably noticed, my Charater Bios project is slow-going!  I've been working mostly on the etymology portions of the bios…just doing what I can when I can steal a few moments.  However, during last week's Meet and Greets, I realized that a ton of you have favorite hero, heroine and/or book quotes!  Thus, I wanted to let you know that I would love to have you submit them for use on the Character Bios pages!  Just e-mail them to me at marcialmcclure@cs.com with a subject line of ...

She Cracks Me Up! (The first draft of The Windswept Flame cover.)

Okay…I don't know how to say this…other than to say…no one in the world cracks me up like my friend Sheri!  I mean, seriously!  Just her e-mails make me laugh as hard as anything I've ever seen on "Whose Line is it Anyway?"…and what makes Sheri's sense of humor even more wonderful is that often she sends me into mirth-tears not with words, but with a simple visual thing that I don't see coming!  Even after all these years I'm astounded at her clever wit, talent, etc.!

You already know that...

Just a Drip in the "Character Bios" Bucket!

Okay!  I haven't had a ton of time (yet) to work on the Character Bios page…but I'm having sooooooooo much fun with it!  There are now a couple of tiny little starts up…one on William Slater Evans…with just basically the Etymology…and one on Mason LaMont Carlisle…which includes my current favorite photo submission so far for the representation of Mason (be sure and click on the actual photo…it's way better when it's larger)!  I know we all have our own vision of what each character looks...

Character Biographies!

Sometimes I just need something fun to do.  Do you know what I mean?  Thus, I'm working on a new project and wondering what you think…compiling biographies of some or all of the main characters from my books!  I just thought it might be fun to do!  Each biography page would consist of several elements (listed below) and, just for fun, I thought we'd post photos of actors and actresses or even every day people that you think should be considered for the Bio Photo!  For instance, let's say you ...

Favorite Faux Pas of the YEAR!

The other day my nephew, Jonathan, was watching a show on Nickelodeon called "Victorious".  In this particular episode, a group of six kids were trapped in an RV and couldn't get out.  It was really, really hot in the RV…and everyone was miserable.  At long last, the main girl character says, "Wait I have a fan!" She then proceeds to pull a little tiny hand-held fan out of her bag.

Sometime later, my nephew Jonathan was relaying the story to his mom (my sister).

After telling my sister about...

My Sincerest Thanks!

I just want to take a quick minute to thank everyone who attended the Idaho Falls and Logan events for your incredible kindnesses to me!  Thank you so much for allowing me to have a moment of your time to meet you and hopefully (if not blunderingly) express my gratitude!  Everyone was so fun, patient and wonderful!  Thank you, thank you!

Gushes of thanks to everyone who helped, too…Becki (with eyelashes like a super model), Karen (with the smile of an angel), Toni (the queen of...

Today's Trivial List-Favorite Sounds and Scents

A while back my daughter asked me if I would make a list of my favorite sounds and scents!  What an intriguing idea, huh!  I would suggest you do one, too…for posterity's sake if nothing else!  Let me know if we have any of the same ones!

Let's see…Favorite Sounds….

1.  The sound the burner in a hot air balloon makes when the balloon is aloft (especially if it's drifting overhead on a crisp, clean October morning!

2.  Train whistles…far off in the distance…

3.  Crickets on a summer night…

4.  The ...
