Appearance update: Book Bash Orlando
So, I have good news and bad news. The good news is, it looks like I’m going to Istanbul for a research trip this summer for a new series! (Which I’m very excited about, naturally.) The bad news is… I’m going to have to cancel my appearance at the Book Bash in Orlando. (Not so excited about.)
Most of you who’ve been following my writing for a while probably know that I’m a single mom of an awesome seven year old boy, so (even though his dad is great) my travel time is pretty limited. And though I’d love to be at all the appearances and signings I’m invited to, I just can’t do that and still be a full time writer and mom. So when the opportunity to take this trip worked out, I just couldn’t pass it up.
I want to apologize sincerely to those who were planning on attending the event. I do hope that no travel plans were spoiled, but I take comfort in knowing that there are so many great authors who are still going to be attending. NYT Best-selling authors like Abbi Glines, Colleen Hoover, and Tammara Webber. Fantastic, fun writers like Elizabeth Reyes and Rebecca Donovan. Honestly, there are too many to even list here. The full list of authors is HERE on the website, and I do hope that you’ll still plan on going.
As for San Francisco and RT in Kansas City, I am still planning on attending those! And I hope to make a trip down to Florida for another signing later this year.
Again, I really hope that no travel plans were spoiled! And I hope to meet my Florida readers soon.
Thanks for reading,
Elizabeth

What? No vampires?
I have a few links for you, including sales links (of course!):
AMAZON
SMASHWORDS
BARNES & NOBLE
KOBO
As for iBooks and Sony and a few others, I’m just waiting on the extended distribution for those. Because those sites don’t have a direct publishing platform, it takes just a little longer.
Here’s also a link to a great interview I did over at She Wolf Reads about the book and the future of the series (for those who might be wondering). Great questions! I had a lot of fun with this interview.
There are a few giveaways happening around on various book blogs if you poke around. (I’ve linked to quite a few on Twitter and Facebook.) But let’s hear what reviewers are saying about the first book in the Cambio Springs series:
“This was an excellent novel with all the things that make great novels. The writing was excellent, the story was compelling, the characters were interesting and the mystery revolved around the romance (or maybe vice versa).”
—Doug C. Meeks
“[Hunter’s] books are different and entertaining and also get a little hot. Well ok, a lot of hot. And SHIFTING DREAMS is no different. It has everything I want in a book and to me I thought it was absolute perfection. I got a great mystery that wasn’t easy to solve, a romance that took its time building up, and an array of characters that could easily keep this series going for a while. Oh yes, lots of hidden stories just waiting to be told.”
—I Read Indie
“Take a simple contemporary plot, add a pinch of paranormal, sprinkle with insightful, down-to-earth, wry characters, mix with a murder mystery, shake vigorously and enjoy Cambio Springs! “
—Nocturnal Book Reviews
So, there you have it! I hope you’ll give Shifting Dreams a read and, when you get the chance, leave an honest review wherever you bought the book. I do NOT have paperback news at the moment, but I’ll post again when I do. The paperback is in the works now, and it’s going to be beautiful, but I’m waiting on a few details before it’s ready to go.
Thanks in advance for an awesome release day!

Release Day for Shifting Dreams!

Happy Valentine’s Day with Giovanni and Beatrice!
Here’s a little extra for you readers. For those of you missing Gio and Beatrice, here’s just a little peek at them for Valentine’s Day. Hope you’re having a good one whoever you’re with.
Thanks for reading,
Elizabeth
P.S. And a quick reminder that The Genius and the Muse, is still on sale for a couple more days for .99!

Sale for Valentine’s Day–The Genius and the Muse
This is just a quick post to let readers who might not have picked up my contemporary romance, The Genius and the Muse, know that it’s on sale right now for Valentine’s Day! And A Hidden Fire is… still free, so I can’t really discount that anymore than it is already. Cause… yeah, I’m not going to start paying you to read my books. That just seems counter-productive.
Anyway, I redesigned the cover for Genius and put it down to .99 for the next couple of days. Hope you might pick it up if you like my writing. There’s no vampires, but there are curious photographers, tattooed sculptors, a bit of angst, and lots of romance. If you like my writing, this is one of my own favorite stories.
Amazon/Barnes & Noble/Kobo
Have a happy Valentine’s Day!

New series news! And a teaser for Cambio Springs.
As you can see, there’s a little bit of a new look for the blog, just because I have a short attention span and like changing things up. If you’re subscribed for updates or the mailing list, no changes, so don’t worry that you’ll miss anything. If you’re not… well why not? I don’t spam your inbox with a million posts. But subscribing to the blog will make sure you don’t miss any releases or teasers or stuff like that.
So, I’ve had a lot of people on Facebook and e-mail lately asking about the first Cambio Springs book, Shifting Dreams. And it occurs to me that all the information I’ve posted about it has been over at my ElizabethHunterWrites.com website, which is really more of a writing website and not so much for readers like this one.
SO, here’s the skinny. Shifting Dreams is the first book in my new series (NOT related to the Elemental Mysteries, but still contemporary fantasy with strong romantic elements) and the release date has been up in the air because of cover and editing and scheduling… stuff. BUT, I have a firm date from my editor now, so I can tell you that it will be available by…

Yay! That’s just a month away for those of you with complaining e-readers. (And bloggers, I’ll be sending out ARCs, so I’ll be in touch.) And I’ll have the cover for you soon. I’m working with a new cover artist and… well, it’s gorgeous. I can’t even tell you how much I love it. I really love working with talented people and Gene Mollica has been fantastic. When I first saw the art there was a little of the Kermit-flaily-arm thing going on. My dogs were disturbed.
I’ve posted the synopsis for Shifting Dreams HERE. And you can read the first chapter HERE. And because I love you, I’m gonna give you another short teaser introducing my man Caleb (who is kinda dreamy and I love him):
~~~
The music was good. Loud, but good. The beer was cold, and Caleb Gilbert was just a little drunk. Not too much, but if he was going to make it back to his hotel in Indio that night, he’d better switch to coffee. Which was too bad, because the brunette behind the bar who’d been serving his drinks had grown a little more flirtatious with every beer. Or maybe that was wishful thinking.
The band on the stage was better than he’d expected. The hard rock with a bluesy edge was just what he’d been looking for when he’d been out the night before. The hotel bar didn’t have much to offer, but the boys who’d been bragging about playing The Cave had invited him to come catch their show the next night. When he’d heard the name “Cambio Springs,” Caleb knew he couldn’t pass it up.
“Another beer?” The brunette was smiling at him and he gave her his most charming crooked grin. He hadn’t shaved that morning. Hadn’t thought he’d be trying to impress anyone, but then Caleb knew his looks weren’t what drove most women away after a few months. Looks had never been the problem. So he cocked his head at the waitress, rubbed a hand over the stubble on his jaw, then back through the curling black hair on his neck.
“I’d love one. Love to keep running up my tab for you, too, but I gotta drive back to Indio tonight. How about some coffee?”
“On the house.” She smiled. “And aren’t you responsible?”
“Pathologically.”
She raised her eyebrows at him before sliding away to grab a mug for coffee. She’d been drinking, too, but only a couple all night. And she bantered back and forth with the scary guy behind the bar with no hint of fear. He’d been listening to the band and watching her all night. It was the best entertainment he’d had in months.
She was damn cute. Tall and lean. Long, sexy legs and nice hips that begged for grabbing. She was no girl, but then he wasn’t exactly a kid, either. Caleb Gilbert had more than a few miles on him. Over five hundred according to the odometer he’d reset when he left Albuquerque. Taking the job as a police chief in the Mojave Desert wasn’t what he’d planned on, but plans change, especially when life and family got messy.
The brunette came back after arguing with a more surly customer down the bar. That had lasted all of about two seconds before the giant bartender—the owner, if he was guessing—stepped in. The woman put a cup of steaming coffee in front of him. Despite the fact that it wasn’t beer, it did smell fantastic.
“Cream or sugar?”
“Just black, thanks. Who is he?” Caleb nodded at the big guy. “Owner?”
“Ollie? Yeah, his family’s had this place for years.”
“And who are you?”
She smiled and he blinked a little. Her smile was gorgeous. It made her eye light up. Dark eyes. More than cute. When she smiled, she was beautiful. “I’m Jena.”
“I’m Caleb. So, is Ollie your boyfriend? He seems pretty protective.”
“Ollie?” She laughed. “No. No boyfriend. Ollie’s like a brother. A big, snarling one if I want him to be.”
“Is that right? No boyfriend, huh? That’s hard to imagine.”
“It wouldn’t be if you knew me.” She smiled again, and he let himself get his hopes up, just for a minute.
~~~
Hope you enjoyed the teaser! I hope you’re looking forward to the book.
Thanks for reading,
Elizabeth

Blood and Sand Teaser #1
As promised on Facebook last night, I am posting the first teaser of Blood and Sand today, and if you click on the new book page, you can see a preliminary synopsis of the book, which I’m predicting to be a summer release. I’m over half-way finished writing it, but I prefer to be conservative in my estimates to allow for revisions and editing.
Hope you like the teaser! Have a great weekend, everyone.
Elizabeth

From Blood and Sand, Chapter One…
By three in the morning, Rory was gone and Baojia was leaving the club. Luis would take care of the few after-hours patrons they entertained, so Baojia could return to the home he had secured on Coronado Island, a few steps from the beach. It was a modern house with exactly the right number of windows and a very secure location. His driver dropped him off before dawn and returned at nightfall. Was it his comfortable warehouse in downtown LA? No, but it was modern and had a good area to train, so he was as content as he could be. He was just about to step into his car when he heard the voice.
“Are you Baojia?”
He smiled, somehow knowing it was Natalie Ellis before he turned. “Where did you hear that name?”
“Does it matter?”
Baojia spun around and regarded her. “Very much so.” She had taken off the heels she’d been wearing and put on a pair of thin, black shoes, but her dress and makeup were the same. “You brought the wrong purse, Ms. Ellis.”
“How—” She nodded, raising the very practical black handbag. “I guess you see a lot of college kids, huh? Not the usual?”
“You stood out. That’s not a bad thing. Where did you hear that name?”
She stepped closer. “Did your errand boy give you my card?”
“No. And I wouldn’t let him hear you call him an errand boy.”
Her lips wore a slight smile. “But he is.”
Baojia stepped closer. “We like to allow children their illusions, don’t we?”
Her eyes were blue. A clear blue that reminded him of old memories of the sky reflecting on the water. She was a creature made for sunlight, a dusting of freckles covered her nose and dotted her shoulders. Though her skin was pale, it was flushed with life. The unexpected curl of arousal surprised him. Human women rarely interested him.
“Listen, I don’t want to waste your time. I’m looking for Baojia because someone told me he could help me with a story I’m writing.”
“Oh? You’re a writer?” In his experience, humans usually abhorred silence and would fill it with useful information, given the chance. One rarely had to question them. Just remain silent and they would tell you what you needed to know.
“Yes.” The woman remained silent, too. Her hands were placed on her hips and one hand clutched her too-large purse. He couldn’t stop the smile. Apparently, they shared the same sentiments about silence. Finally, he gave in with a friendly smile.
“I’m sorry, Ms. Ellis. I can’t help you.” He turned back to his car.
“You are Baojia, aren’t you?” She pronounced it correctly. He didn’t know why that seemed important. “If you won’t help me, I guess I’ll have to go talk to Ivan myself.” He spun so fast her eyes swam. “Hey, how did you—”
Within seconds, Baojia had her tucked in the back of his sedan and told his driver to circle the block.

Finished! The epilogue for Waterlocked is up. Thank you for reading.
You know, when I started posting Waterlocked, I really didn’t have any idea it would be as popular as it was. I’d been coming off a very exhausting year personally and professionally. I wrote or published five full length novels in 2012, and I’ll admit, I was pretty worn out. Still, I’d been wanting to tell Gemma and Terry’s story for about a year, so I just decided to go ahead and write it for myself. I knew it wouldn’t be long. I knew it was mostly a fun love story. And I thought a few dedicated blog readers might get a kick out of it if I just posted it as I wrote.
I kinda underestimated you guys.
Sometimes it’s hard to write a book knowing that even when you’re finished, it will be months before readers get to see it. But with Waterlocked, I had a great time getting very fast feedback from readers as I was writing. It was refreshing for me creatively, and I think it produced a great little novella by the end. I really do feel like I’m starting off 2013 with a fresh wind. So thank you for being part of that. I can tell you that the first draft of Blood and Sand is going very quickly, and I think part of that is due to the pure fun of posting Waterlocked.
Your epilogue is HERE. I’ll be loading the e-book up on Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo later today, so hopefully it will all be available for purchase (if you want) by tomorrow or the next day. I’ll post the links as I get them. I will be keeping it free on the website for another month or so if you’d like to continue to read it here. There is a short prologue for Baojia’s book, Blood and Sand, included at the end of the e-book for those who’d like to buy it.
Thanks for reading. Have a great week!
